THE CHEZ FRÍA ENSEMBLE

THE ENSEMBLE COMBS THE CENTURIES IN THEIR SEARCH FOR SOUNDS, HARMONIES, AND RHYTHMS, PROVIDING MUSICAL INTERPRETATIONS THAT ARE IN TUNE WITH THE PULSE OF THE TIMES.

FEATURING A UNIQUE BLEND OF INSTRUMENTS THAT INCLUDES SYNTHESIZERS, PERCUSSION, TRUMPET, AND RECORDERS – AND A TONGUE-IN-CHEEK EASE THAT REMAINS RESOLUTELY IN THE SERVICE OF MUSIC.

The members of the Chez Fría Ensemble met at the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg and were already making a splash at an early age as soloists as well as in a number of different ensembles. The five musicians are currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna, and the Mozarteum Salzburg.

Chez Fría's musical journey started with a commission from the Musikfestspiele Sanssouci, where the group designed and debuted a new musical approach. Following their spectacular debut in Potsdam, Chez Fría performed at venues including the Take the A-Train Music Festival, the Festival Mittelyoung in Cividale del

Friuli, the Festival Carinthischer Sommer in Villach, Jazzit Salzburg, Mozarteum Salzburg, Bruckneruniversität Linz, and Vienna’s Jazzclub Zwe.

The ensemble's exceptional musical style has earned them the prestigious Hubert von Goisern Kulturpreis, recognizing their outstanding contribution to the Austrian music scene. Chez Fría released two professional music videos last year, made in collaboration with the team from Doppelkopf Studio. The musicians enjoy a special partnership with the Viennese fashion designer duo Combinege, who tailor the ensemble’s outfits to complement their program.. n
