Our largest land owner is the Forest
Preserve District of DuPage County - when we say green
space, we're not kidding.
We may be one of the healthiest destinations in Illinois, but that doesn’t mean we shy away from the Chicago classics.
DuPage was the birthplace of Portillo’s.
We have been called home to a few legends. Among them Blues legend Muddy Waters.
Speaking of the blues, Blues Brothers’ John Belushi and comedic brother Jim Belushi are two more DuPage legends. Their legacy endures at the Belushi Performance Center at their alma mater, College of DuPage.

both important stops on the Underground Railroad and listed as sites on the Network to Freedom list.
DuPage boasts 4 communities on Livability.com’s 2018 Top Places to Live list.
We're not surprised. You won't be either after visiting.
We’re not quite Kentucky, but we hold our own on the equestrian front. Danada House was the home farm of 1965 Kentucky Derby winner Lucky Debonair, whose race time of 2:01.20 remains one of the fastest in Kentucky Derby history.

The City of Big Shoulders wasn’t able to handle its own heavy lifting, so to speak: after the devastating Chicago Fire of 1871, DuPage’s William L. Gregg was one of the brick manufacturers bringing the city back to its feet.
Miles apart yet forever connected: DuPage’s
Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve provided the limestone for the magnificent
Chicago Avenue Water Tower and Pumping Station. Both locations beautiful in their own rights and worth a visit.
Ever gifted – or collected – adorable Beanie Babies? Creator Ty Warner is not only from DuPage, he also kept the company’s headquarters here at

Chicago native Ivan Albright remains one of the most provocative, yet distinguished, artists of the 20th Century and American art. Though now known for his art in its entirety, Hollywood’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” is what brought him national publicity and prominence. It is said Albright’s most productive years took place in DuPage in his Warrenville studio, now home to the Warrenville Historical Society. DISCOVERDUPAGE.COM

Helpful Tips Upon Arrival • Domestic Arrivals, please contact one of the preferred transportation partners. They will direct you to the appropriate door and pick-up location. • International Arrivals, please contact one of the preferred transportation partners. Pick-up will be on the Baggage Claim level in the middle lane traffic. • Suburban cabs are operated as pre-arranged rides, or dispatched rides. Due to security procedures, your assigned cab cannot wait for you at the curb so be sure to have your bags before you call. If you get into a Chicago city cab (located in the first lane) you will be charged time-and-a-half. See “SAVE TIME & MONEY!” under transportation partners. • Directly contact your hotel for details about free shuttle services or discounted flat rates to and from Chicago Airports.
