Welbourn Forge Dating from 1864, Welbourn Forge served the local community for over 100 years. You can still see the forge in action on the first Saturday of the month between 10am and 1pm. Contact 01400 272623 for more information.

Family Fun Day…Exploring Sleaford’s Riverside

Molly & Floyd’s Easter Eggstravaganza!

From a working watermill to a wetland meadow, explore this historic riverside. Join Countrysidenk and Discovernk to discover rural crafts, nature trails and much more!

Cogglesford Watermill’s Molly the Mill Mouse is visiting Navigation House’s Floyd the Fish with Easter eggs but she has lost some along the way! Visit the Mill and Navigation House to collect your trail sheet and help Molly to find them before claiming your own Easter prize. 50p per trail.

Starts at Cogglesford Watermill. Entry is free however there may be charges for some activities.

Chocks away for Charlie’s Chocolate Delivery! Charlie the Crane has been asked to deliver Easter eggs to the pioneering aviators in the exhibition but has mixed them all up! National Mills Weekend

Discover the incredible stories of women who fought against adversity to achieve aviation history. From world famous Amy Johnson to the Episcopal Priest’s wife who became a world class stunt pilot – come along and be inspired!

Cogglesford Watermill joins in with this national celebration as the mill rumbles into action, grinding the mill’s own stoneground flour. They will be joined by M H Preserves who will be offering tastes of their home made jams and chutneys and Greenfield Bakers who produce delicious bread using traditional wood fired ovens.

25th Birthday Party! Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre first opened its doors to the public on 8 June 1992. Since then the centre has gone from strength to strength and is now a fully Accredited Museum with a passionate team of staff and volunteers. Come along and join us as we celebrate our 25th birthday and enjoy a slice of birthday cake!

A Guided History Walk – When in Sleaford Join local historian, Simon Pawley, for a guided walk along the recently installed ‘When in Sleaford’ history trail. The walk will visit some of the town’s most significant historical buildings and explore Sleaford’s fascinating heritage.

Once again all three venues will be taking part in the Heritage Open Days designed to encourage visitors to explore their local history and heritage. There will be a free fun family trail at each centre on both days and you can see Cogglesford Watermill in action on Sunday.

Halloween at Cogglesford Mill

Joining in with this national event, Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre will once again host an amateur radio station to make contact with Museums from around the world. Find out what is going on in museums as far away as Norway!

Summer Fun An annual favourite, Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre opens its doors for lots of aviation fun. Explore vintage RAF Fire Fighting engines, try your hand at kite flying and test your skills with our cunning trail!

Join in with lots of ghostly fun as this creaky old mill celebrates Halloween. Explore the mill and follow terrifying trails before settling down with some spooky stories. Fancy dress welcome, suitable for all ages.
