BMX Track and Snow Toboggan Hill in Final Stretch of Construction
Christmas Craft Market Around Corner! November 7th 11 am to 4 pm
Photos by Darson Dueck
The northeast corner of Dawson Trail Park is taking shape thanks to the vision of Darson Dueck, RCC Director and local contractors. A grant from Canada Post of $5,000 was applied towards the project and with the snow coming soon, will make a great toboggan hill for families. Come Spring, the final landscaping will be completed, included a grassy plateau equipped with a picnic table that could be a great place for young adults and kids to socialize while trying out the track. The RCC would like to thank Canada Post, Mr. Gravel, G&R and PPM for making this project work.
On November 7th from 11 am to 4 pm the Dawson Trail Museum will hold an indoor Christmas Craft Market where you can find produce, greens, honey, Christmas baking, jams & jellies, fudge & candies, pets treats, MĂŠtis beading, rubs, jewellery and much more. There will be a silent auction and door prize. Admission will be $2 per person. For more information please go to Dawson Trail Museum (dawsontrailmuseum.ca) and also check our Facebook page. There is something for everyone so we will see you there. Again we will follow the health and safety guidelines.
Richer Postmaster Has Request
Lights Going Up in Premier Tech Multiplex
The lighting system is currently being installed in the Premier Tech Multiplex thanks to local contractors AC/DC Utilities and Raptor Electric. While the supplier had delays in shipping the fixtures to AC/DC Utilities, owner Alphonse Pilon is busy with his bucket truck installing them is the trusses and should be complete soon, ready for them to be turned on. Recently, the Richer Community Club also updated its security system in the park more than doubling the number of cameras.
With the amount of online shopping occurring this year, parcels are flying through Canada Post like a tsunami. The Richer Post office is one of many rural post offices where parcels are coming in fast and being piled to the ceiling. Our local postmaster, Gisele FrancoisNault, is asking local residents to have patience as mail sorting may take a bit longer into the day than normally expected. With limited space it is almost like a giant game of Tetris to get through the stacks. She is also requesting that residents not park in front of the mailboxes located outside at the Richer Husky as it makes it more inconvenient for Canada Post drivers to pickup and deliver the mail. With the increased volume and weight we need to try and work with the rural contractors. They are not just employees of Canada Post, these rural routes are handled by contractors who are our friends and neighbours and if we can make access more convenient, we can truly be neighbourly which is what Richer is becoming known Photo by Dan Guetre for.

By Pastor Ben Funk Learning... is learning age sensitive? Coming from my perspective, as I get older, I become increasingly aware that I have a lot more to learn. Now you as students (actually we are all students) of every variety have been in class for a couple of months now. As you are learning more and more about life, the rest of us also have much to learn… much to learn about life... much to learn about family and its dynamics... much to learn about myself. The old adage may say that “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” but it should not be said that the old dog can not learn to grow in understanding. Learning to grow in understanding is exciting in a sense that just think of all the books I still have not read. It became apparent early on in my undergraduate studies that “the more I learned, the more I realized how little I new.” That became even more apparent in graduate studies. So, learning is a life long journey. However, learning on its own is primarily the gathering of information. Learning and growing to understand the application of information is where it becomes appreciated. It is also good to come to grips with the reality that we do not know everything and we need to stop thinking that we know everything. Understanding this we begin to appreciate community, the value of others contributing to our lives, or vice versa, us contributing to the lives of others. It is the same way in our spiritual journey. The Apostle Peter wrote the following: “Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the errors of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:17-18a). Learning to grow in grace – how we interact with those around us. Are we understanding how to be kind, how to be complimentary, how to be generous with charity, paying it forward? You see, we grow in myriads of ways just by experiencing life. If we grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus it addresses a growing that will have greater impact for the rest of life, both in private and in community. Happy learning, to form an understanding to grow intentionally for the delight of life. Thanks for reading. We at “Richer Fellowship Church” invite you to join us in our time of worship: Sundays in person @10:30 am or on YouTube Livestream or in the Parking Lot @ 87.9FM. We have three (3) safe spaces for worship that conform to guidelines, four including the Parking lot.

Museum Will Be Closing for Winter All the projects have been completed for the year at the Dawson Trail Museum. They will be closed for the winter from November 8th to May 2021.
Co-op Recognized in Dawson Trail Park A new sign was erected recently on the bleachers to officially welcome Clearview Consumers Coop and their generous support for the park and community. Jared Lepp, Facilities Maintenance Manager of Clearview Consumers Co-op along with Jake were able to quickly install the new signage. The Richer Community Club received $68,000 from Co-op recently to establish a historical interpretive theme to the park which turned 50 years old in 2020. Some of the project will be completed in Spring due to delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Richer Community Club tentatively plans on hosting a “Thank You Co-op! BBQ in mid-May and invite the community out to help celebrate with employees of Clearview Consumers Co-op.
