Bursaries Available

The Brent Wery Memorial Bursary has two $250 bursaries available to local students who will be going to post secondary studies this coming fall. The high schools that our local students attend have been made aware of these scholarships.

This program is offered through the Richer Community Club. An emphasis is placed on the applicants who achieve worthy academic standards and show community spirit that was exemplified by Brent Wery.

2024 FINANCIAL PLAN

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to subsec�on 162(2) of The Municipal Act that the Council of the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne intends to present their Financial Plan for the 2024 fiscal year at a public hearing in the RM of Ste. Anne Council Chambers located at the below address on the 24th day of April, 2024 at 7:00 pm. The Council mee�ng will also be livestreamed online at www.rmofsteanne.com.

REPRESENTATION OPTIONS:

Council will hear any person who wishes to make representa�on, ask ques�ons, or register an objec�on regarding this applica�on. Individuals who plan to make a representa�on can do so by:

• Providing a wri�en submission by email, mail or fax to the addresses or fax number listed above; or

• A�ending the hearing in person; or

• A�ending the mee�ng virtually by emailing cao@rmofsteanne.com no later than Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 at 12:00 pm in order to be provided with the mee�ng link.

Note: Wri�en submissions sent to the Municipal Office will be read publicly during the Hearing.

A copy of the financial plan will be available on our website at www.rmofsteanne.com as well will be available for review at the Municipal Office during normal office hours, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Mon. to Fri. Documents can be provided in alternate formats upon request.

“ The Purpose of A Door”

You may have looked at the title and thought, that is quite mundane. I am fully aware that we make use of a door many times in a day. A door is actually quite important in our lives, both for adventure and security, or safety. When we enter through a door, it may be into a vehicle or into your home, we lock the door behind us. In our mind we subconsciously have concluded that there could be an unwanted guest lurking to enter, so we lock the door. On the positive side, the door provides entry into an alternative space such as a house, a place of business, a place of leisure or adventure etc. Once in such a place or space there may be other doors that provide entrance into rooms in that space. So then, a door is a portal through which we pass from one place to another. A door is an entrance, either to a place that is slightly congested or a much larger space where one can spread their wings and explore, like the outdoors. If we become frozen at a said door we will never experience what is beyond the door. If I suggest for you to go to a certain door, if you do not knock on the said door signifying your arrival, the door will not open on its own. I can describe the door to you that it is certain artistically beautiful, it’s ascetics is easy on the eyes, but if you do not knock on the door you will never experience what is beyond that door. Adventure is waiting for you beyond that door.

Here is the thing. Jesus said I Am The Door. This door is not a physical door, but a faith door. Entering through that door we go from death to life, from darkness to light, from guilt into pardon, from shame into joy, from strife into peace, from defeat into victory. If we get stuck at the door we will never experience what is beyond the door that Jesus is talking about. Life beyond the door is beautiful, redeeming, freeing. Jesus is the door, and beyond that door is life everlasting. This holds true for both, an individual and an institution. In order to explore or grow to the next level in life’s journey we must not be afraid to open the door to new potential. Life beyond that door is truly freeing and filled with new adventures and discoveries. Can I invite you to join hands with us and enjoy the adventure that awaits us. May I suggest, Walk through that door and find endless freedom, for both mind and soul.

Seed Swap Could Lead to Community Gardening Workshops

The recent Seed Swap held at Young at Hearts Club had a wonderful turnout of 50 avid gardeners. Attendees left the event with anticipation for future gatherings, already looking forward to swapping their seeds next year.

The Seed Swap’s “bring a pack, take a pack” simple approach highlighted the participants generosity who showed more interest in sharing their seeds than taking seeds.

Amidst the relaxed atmosphere of the exchange, planty conversations naturally flowed, with attendees exchanging tips on various gardening topics, from lavender germination to the best placement for onions in the garden. The event was flowing with shared knowledge, particularly around sustainable food practices.

As the importance of home gardening grows, the Richer Community Club is preparing to host a series of gardening workshops, providing further opportunities for growth and connection within the gardening community. Through these efforts the club aims to nurture a sense of shared responsibility for food security and environmental stewardship among its members.

Monday, April 29 is the deadline for May 2024 submissions.

The museum is proud to hold our 2nd Annual Spring Tea Fundraiser Event on Sunday May 26th from 11 am to 4 pm. First sitting is from 11 am to 1 pm and the second sitting from 2 pm to 4 pm. The tickets are $25 each, children 6 and under $12 ea. Door prize drawn at each sitting. A spring theme will be featured this year. You will be served a delicious charcuterie board along with desserts and beverage. The Dutiaume brothers, Tommy and Jimmy will entertain us with their fabulous music from the museum balcony. There will be a photo booth again this year, you can purchase a digital photo $5 or hard copy for $5 each. You may tour the museum, you may also purchase from the gift shop such as souvenir T-shirts, hoodies, painted rocks, and history booklets.
