Genevieve and Giroux areas to come out and get their first vaccine shot or their second shot if needed,” said Guetre. “If you have had both shots, you are also welcome to come and grab a burger, drink and watch the entertainment. Of course, we are definitely not going to refuse anyone from outside the area to obtain a vaccine shot either. We are known as a community that always shows great hospitality to all guests.” According to Guetre, live music will be on the busking stage in the park along with a “wandering” can get back to what matters… our the park,” explained Dan Guetre, magician. From The Pastor’s Desk...
Summer In The Smoke By Pastor Ben Funk I do not know about you, but I am reaching my limits with the air quality we have experienced for some time now. It creates visibility issues, it creates breathing issues, which inflicts respiratory issues, etc. I really have felt for the outside workers, construction, mail carriers, etc. The smoke distorts, blurres beautiful scenery, i.e. flowers, etc. Life can be very similar, depending what the smoke is that is blurring our potential or possibilities. Monika Black writes that “The main reason amazing kids don’t become amazing adults is because along the way someone tells them that they can’t make money being amazing in that way.” The dissenting voice is the smoke that blurres the beauty of our potential and disempowers our possibilities. Look at you, it is about the glimmer of hope that is in you, (that is God) that knows who you are. When the smoke clears, and the negative voices are silenced, you are still that one who is standing full of potential and possibilities. Why, because you are amazing. The thing is our thinking matters. The question is, how have you structured your thinking? I would like to encourage each one (across the demographic spectrum) to be aware of who speaks into your life. God has given each of us a calling and desires for this life. A person’s calling makes room for them. Clearly identify your potential and explore your possibilities. We must understand that the fear that we are not enough and do not have what it takes are the negative thoughts that constantly hold us back from letting our truth, our glimmer of hope, to be realized. But, if you were amazing then, then you are amazing now. When you begin to realize this, you are more then ready to revitalize yourself and on the road to successful living as you. Now that you have overcome fear, (by God’s help), you are on the road to a life of possibilities. So, clear the smoke of negativity, and take a deep breath – ah now that feels good. Much of what you seek is often on the other side of your perceived possibilities. Richer Fellowship Church is a place of opportunity to worship and to learn how to live in this overcoming life. You learn the power of faith, and how to overcome fear. We meet each Sunday at 10:30am for worship. You can also participate via “LiveStream” on YouTube at 10:30am. We are also on Radio in our community at that same time on 101.9fm. May God bless you.
Pop-Up continued... free draws for those that attend. They just ask people to respect the Provincial Health orders in place. Local doctors and pharmacists will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns with the vaccine. Currently, plans are to have 300 doses of the Pfizer vaccine made available for the event. Guetre is asking everyone to start talking about this event and reach out to their family and friends who may be hesitant or just have delayed their shot, to come out to the park.

Dawson Trail Museum
Farmers Market:
The Dawson Trail Museum are holding the Farmers Market out-
doors again this summer on Saturdays to September 25th from 10 am to 2 pm. If you wish to
participate please contact Lynne Robson the market Coordinator at lynne@crazychameleon.ca for more information. Due to the pandemic restrictions all proto-
cols will be followed outdoors. The museum remains closed at this time for tours.
Summer student:
Meet our second summer student Hope Brown from Richer (pictured to the right). A grant was funded by the MMF and she is busy doing the cataloguing of all the artifacts. She also participates at the Farmers Markets every Saturday.
Church/Museum Façade:
The museum façade is receiving a well deserved face lift with a coat of fresh paint. Contactor Norm Bremaud and Denis Jobin started on July 19 by scraping the old paint on window panes and trims. Window panes were re-glazed, primed and painted as well. The 2 side niches received much attention to restore their beauty. The stucco was refreshed with a new coat of paint and it looks as good as new. All this work would not be possible without the support of equipment from RVP Projects, Raymond Vauclair. We the committee and the community are all very thankful. During the month of August we are looking at restoring the Bell Tower to its original state.
Mark your calendar:
On Sunday September 19th, 2021 the Dawson Trail Museum committee will host their annual Fall Supper at the Young at Heart Hall from 4 pm to 7 pm. A roast beef diner will be served will all the trimmings. Depending on the health restrictions we may have a sit down dinner or a take out diner. Watch for further updates.

Get ready Richer. Almost a dozen local community groups have been working quietly in the background to create a new community event. Le Rendezvous, to be held September 17-19 will be a celebration of cultures with music, displays, activities and food hosted at multiple venues in the community. “The rodeo is the signature event for Richer and is definitely going to return in 2022,” says Dan Guetre, a board member of the Richer Community Club and a member of the Le Rendezvous steering committee. “The Dawson Trail is celebrating 150 years this year and what better way to recognize that but with a new festival.” Celebrating the heritage of the region, the Métis, Indigenous and Francophone cultures will be on display through music, sound and taste as this event, originally scheduled for the spring of 2020 now has a date set. With funding made available from the Province of Manitoba, the RM of Ste. Anne and the MB150 committee along with local business sponsorship, the Dawson Trail Park will feature two stages of entertainment, food planned includes bison, duck, rabbit and other traditional tastes. A historical interpretive display will also be set up along with interactive crafts and workshops. “On Friday we hope that regional schools can also bring out the kids,” says Guetre. “This would be a very inexpensive field trip with an educational component… hidden in lots of fun!” The kickoff of the Dawson Trail Arts and Heritage Tour will take place at the Dawson Trail Museum this weekend along with opportunities to see artists actually creating onsite. The museum itself will be creating a community fall supper at the Richer Young at Hearts Club along with museum activities including music, and a farmers market with a large craft component. The second leg of the re-creation of the Red River Expedition which features traditionally built red river carts, wagons and horseback outriders will be departing the Hadashville area a few days earlier with plans to arrive at the park on the Friday around noon. There are pancake breakfasts planned, competitions, and a Saturday night concert. Other events are in the planning stages to be included over the weekend.
So far, the group has been able to keep the costs for entry to the park to $5 for the entire weekend for non-students and youth! Items can be chosen from the menus to create a meal for only $6. Students and other youth will get a free weekend pass. More details will be announced soon as things get firmed up and booked.
