Ice Skating in Park Closer Than You Think!

Richer Community Club monthly meeting... December 8, 7:30 pm at the Young at Hearts Club. We ask everyone to follow Provincial Health Orders. Email dan@richerrodeo.ca

EnRicher deadline: Friday, December 31 is the deadline for January 2022 submissions for the EnRicher. A group of dedicated volunteer icemakers are out at the Dawson Trail Park almost daily putting the final touches on the Premier Tech Multiplex ice rink, a figure eight skating path, and even icing down the rodeo arena. Depending on weather, the crew is hoping the surfacing will be ready to take some heavy ice use in about a week. Now is the time to pull out the skates and get a quick sharpening. You definitely want to be ready for this! Photos by Eldon Zigarlick

Shop Local This Holiday Season Local in-person Holiday shopping is returning this year. Local holiday markets are giving small businesses a much needed boost for the Holidays. For many small business owners over the last few years have been in a tough position due to the pandemic, which is why it’s even more important to support our local creators and small businesses. Anne Collegiate, and a live DJ. Makers and bakers will include Apothecandy, Bear Repair, Brenda Pistun, Brokenhead Grove, Donna’s Joyful Baskets, Hollyhock Roasters, Kafei Expresso Bar, Loved Creations, Natalie’s Macrame, Nikkiknacks, Prairie Pampas by Melissa, Purple Lily Creations, Rascal & Rebelle, Shelf Expression, Toadally Tim Photography, Wild Wood Dreations, and Whish Candles. From The Pastor’s Desk...

Let Us Not Forget

By Pastor Ben Funk The month of December is the month when the first day of winter appears. Just a few days after the first day of winter another special day appears – Christmas. Many people could not wait to display their new Christmas lights on their homes and yards. The cheer of the bright and colourful lights quietly send a subtle message of otherness. That otherness is the coming of Advent, the Christmas story of Emmanuel – God coming and being akin with us. Let us give thanks to the living God who has sent us Jesus Christ the Emmanuel, our hope in this uncertain world. This Jesus brings us peace, but not as the world gives, but He is Peace Himself for our world. May the Prince of Peace be our comfort

and hope! How about the gift of peace? When Jesus was born, the Angels sang out, “Glory to God in the highest and peace to people of good will.” We all know that the modern world is very far from peace, with all the evils and scandals and natural disasters going on. The result in all of that is so much anxiety. The message of the new born Jesus can bring us His peace if we allow Him to come into “the Inn” of our own hearts! In reality, He is just a prayer away! Then the gift of joy. The Gospel tells us that when the Magi, the Three Kings saw the star of Bethlehem and the Christ Child, “they had great joy” maybe there is a lesson for all of us. If we follow the “star” that is Jesus Christ, He will lead us to true happiness in this life and everlasting joy in the world that is to come. I pray that you all will be ready to welcome the Messiah who will fill your hearts with His presence of joy and love. Especially, I ask you to join me in praying for our community that we may find God’s way which brings us together in one: to worship Him faithfully and to reach out to serve His people sincerely. All He needs from us is to have our humble response to Him whole heartedly. My sincere thanks to all. Merry Christmas from Richer Fellowship Church. You are invited to join us for worship Christmas day from 10 am to 11 am. You may also catch us on YouTube @ Richer Fellowship from that same time LIVE or on local radio 101.9 FM
