Richer Community Club Targets
Roof Over Grandstands Project
The next big project for the Richer Community Club (RCC) will be a roof constructed over the grandstands in the Dawson Trail Park.
“This won’t happen overnight but we are confident we can fundraise the amount, approve a design, get an engineer’s stamp and hire a contractor to erect a roof by late spring of 2025,” said Dan Guetre, President of the Richer Community Club.
Guetre has reached out to some local trades people for help and together, a rough budget was
calculated.
“The project costs will all depend on the final funds raised,” noted Guetre. “Estimated costs sit anywhere from $185,000 to $250,000, depending on the design and materials used.”
The RCC finished its largest project a couple of years ago when the community came together to build the Premier Tech Multiplex. Shortly after two other major projects were completed, the ice maintenance and Zamboni building and the replacement of the ice rink boards. In
total approximately $650,000 was raised for these three infrastructure improvements.
Guetre is confident the current board can raise the funds for this new project and a few grant applications have already been submitted with more to write.
