During the recently held Annual General Meeting, Dan Guetre was elected as the new President of the Richer Community Club. The election was called after Mark Lanouette announced he would not be seeking the position again after serving multiple terms in the position. Mark did agree to stay on as a director on the board.

“While there is more responsibility with this position, I know the entire board pitches in and shares the responsibilities to run the organization,” said Dan. “I guess after sitting on the board for close to 25 years, it was my time to step up to the plate.”

Dan noted that most of the “heavy lifting” has already been done by previous presidents of the board.

“Don McDougall, Joe Wery, Norm Burnell, Brent Wery, Laura Zimmerman and Mark Lanouette all worked hard to ensure residents in the area have a park to be proud of including a host of events and activities that are laid out with proven track records,” he added.

Dan thanks the board for their confidence and is appreciative of all the board members who will continue along with some new faces ready to sit around the table.
