The Richer Commuity Club Inc. in Richer is looking for an individual to work at the Richer Dawson Trail Park starting July 3, 2023. This position is made available with the support of the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, you will take part in the following activities: cleanup and yard maintenance, painting, and assisting where needed with Community Club events.

Qualifications

• Must be between 15-29 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada and have a valid Child Employment Permit if 15 years of age.

• Must be willing and able to work some evenings and weekends as required

• Ability to produce a satisfactory Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry Check

• Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and organized

• Ability to work independently and/or alongside others

• Ability to do physical labour

Assets

• Experience with garden and lawn tools including weed whackers

• Possession of a valid full stage Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License

• Knowledge of safe work practices

Wage: 15.50/hr and approximately 35 hours/wk for 8 weeks

Summer Student Employment Opportunity

The Richer Dawson Trail Museum is seeking a selfmotivated student between the ages of 15 and 30 years, to work as a full- time summer student.

Student must be enrolled in a full-time secondary or postsecondary school program with intent to return to school on a full time basis in the fall of 2023-2024. Student must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Manitoba Drivers License is essential.

The summer student employment opportunity is in partnership with the MB. Green Team Program.

Starting July 4th to August 28th, 2023, 40 hours per week and must be available to work weekends.

* Salary is $14.15 per hour

* Student would be working under the direction of the Dawson Trail Museum Committee.

Job description:

Readiness to learn the history of the museum

Greeting visitors and giving museum tours

Assist Museum Coordinator with artifacts

Cataloguing of the artifacts/ knowledge of computer Assist at fundraisers

Cleaning duties

Some outdoor maintenance ex: grass cutting/ trimming and ground level painting
