Crib News Richer Crib Club held its first regular tournament of the season on September 5 with a great turnout! Welcome back everyone! Will Linklater took first place, and he was very happy about that. Second place was won by Regina Konge, who had to leave after only three games, leaving her place to Lucy Richard, so it was a joint win. Rochelle Anderson won third place while Chris Seaman took the booby prize. Chris also managed to win the 50/50, so he had a pretty good evening. The crib tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 19 saw only 18 people in attendance, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time! Our winners for the evening were Art Bergman in first place, Dan Ross in second and Roger Andre in third. Laura West came in for the Booby prize, while Carole Marleau won the 50/50. Congratulations to all our winners! Our October tournaments will be Tuesdays, October 3 and 17, at 7 pm at the Young at Heart Centre. Hope to see you there! 2017...
Another Rodeo of the Year Win for Richer!
Committee members Jim Bob Pitura, Pat Stolwyk and Marty Pitura with the 2017 Rodeo of the Year banner.
2017 turned out to be another banner year for the Richer Rough Stock Rodeo as the community of Richer was presented with a Rodeo of the Year banner at the Heartland Rodeo Finals. This is the fourth title win in five years. The rodeo committee believes the win is due to a dedicated group of volunteers, a community that has embraced rodeo fever and businesses that consistantly participate and partner with the annual event.

From The Pastors Desk In Awe and Thankful By Pastor Ben
Our incredible summer is fast coming to a close. Our Harley’s and other motor vehicles have taken us down many scenic roadways. The gracious wilderness garden of nature (be it the Whiteshell, the prairies, the mountains of British Columbia, and all points in between) directs the observer to the creativity of our God. Many memories have been created in our lives, relics that can now be stored in a treasury of memory. These memories will lead to many delightful conversations as we sit in our recreation rooms or around a cozy fireplace during the long winter. But, let’s not talk about winter yet.
As I am riding on my Harley or sitting on my deck I am seeing many wonderful fall colours on our trees. It is always fascinating to notice the variety of colours on the various trees and other broad leaf plants. Each plant or tree has its own DNA and therefore presents its own colour for us to dazzle our eyes with. Each are being cared for to meet its individual needs to remain healthy and productive throughout its life. A lot like you and me, we are being cared for and provided for to meet our needs, for the most part, in one way or another. We, like the rest of nature are part of God’s creation with whom He desires to relate personally. The beauty that we observe reflects God’s care for His creation. This should stir in us a particular thankfulness in us, particularly when we are about to celebrate Thanksgiving. As we all look at our tables of plenty let’s remember those who have less. Many people in our world are unable to meet their basic daily needs. Join us as we give thanks to God for being so generous to us. He has again provided for us our physical and spiritual needs. Spiritual needs by introducing us to Jesus our Saviour. Thanks be to God.
