Barrel Racing Becomes Regular Feature in Park
Major Projects Underway in Park
Many have noticed the removal of the aging rink boards under the Premier Tech Multiplex as the project moves forward to replace them with a new improved system.
Additionally, the Richer Community Club is preparing to install a veterans’ memorial in the park by the front entrance pergola. A bronze plaque, exhibit and flag will be going up in the next couple of weeks.
Additionally, the long awaited time capsule will be sealed into the ground and the sponsorship board will also be completed.
Many people may have noticed that the rodeo arena is turning into a place for barrel racer to gather. Rebecca Penner and a small group of volunteers have regularly scheduled in barrel racing over the summer and have capped it off with their RC Fall 3D Series of events this fall. Their finals are scheduled in for early October.

From The Pastor’s Desk... Two Chairs
By Pastor Ben Funk
It is amazing how we can learn from a variety of settings. The other day I was relaxing on my deck when I noticed two lone chairs in my backyard by the fire pit. They were uniquely placed in a semi circle as if two people had been sitting there and having a conversation. The two chairs were the reclining type, offering a relaxing posture. It looked like there had been a fire burning in front of them as they enjoyed each other’s company. A few days later I was driving in town when I noticed other homes also had
two chairs placed in a similar semi circle. Now, the chairs were not all the same style, but it did speak of a uniqueness of whoever had placed the chairs where they were. Have you ever wondered what the conversation may have been about when they were occupying those chairs? You see, sometimes conversations may not have any words at all, simply enjoying each others presence. All too often, in our noisy world, we loose the art of silence. The empty chairs in someone’s yard may speak of silence. Now I am all to aware of the often deafening of silence, but it need not be that way. Because in silence we can make ourselves open to
hear what God might want to whisper in our ear (I love you) that we would not otherwise hear. Those empty chairs speak of this silence that is blissful and invigorating to the soul. These times of silent reflection and meditation silences anxiety and stress. Sometimes those two chairs may be occupied by you and God. God has joined you in the chair next to you in silent conversation to offer you to offload from your busy life and give the weight to Him. (He does encourage us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us). Those two chairs are wonderful as we enjoy the company of One next to us redeeming us from our life of
busy. Can I recommend to take some time and spend some time with your significant other and reminisce about sweet nothings. Allow the soul to enjoy a time of ease in the cool of the evening air and a fire musically crackling in the background refreshing itself in the presence of God. This fall as we see the leaves fall from the trees tell God “Thank You for the life You have given.”

Fall/Winter Workshops and Fun!
The Richer Recreation Committee has plans to create some fun and educational events over the next few months.
The first one, a Hunter Safety Course, was announced on the Richer Community Club Facebook page and was filled by participants in less than 18 hours.
According to the committee, they are hoping to host a babysitting course, possibly a PAL, ATV and Snowmobile Safety Course, some kids and family crafts events and more.
The concept is to hire presenters and subsidize the registration fee for residents of the RM of Ste. Anne. This will be done with some variation to make the $5,000 budgeted for these events last as long as possible.
Like and Follow the Richer Community Facebook page to ensure
you see the announcements early as registration could possibly fill up fast when they are posted.
Dawson Trail Museum
Celebrating Our Past.
On September 1 the Dawson Trail Museum welcomed a group of seniors from the Villa Youville. The group of 15 residents brought their own lunch, which was served on decorated tables with fine China. Following lunch they had a tour of the museum. Additionally, they listened to 1950’s music on a gramaphone where everyone had a great time reminiscing. Thank you for your visit and sharing your stories.
The Dawson Trail Art Tour took place on September 16 and 17 at the museum. This gave the artists and opportunity to display their talents and creations to everyone.
Basement project renovations are underway with Right on Renovations and Constructions. More details to come next month.
The museum fundraiser for the 50/50 tickets is SOLD OUT. The draw will take place at the Museum after our annual AGM meeting on October 14. Thank you, to everyone who supported us by purchasing tickets throughout the summer, and GOOD LUCK TO ALL. Thanks to Dan Guetre, for printing our tickets this year. All proceeds go towards the museum renovations.
