From The Pastor’s Desk...
Annual Cycle By Pastor Ben Funk In the events of our unbelievably crazy times there is always opportunity to be creative in what we do in our lives. The annual seasonal cycle reminds us that there is opportunity for harvest. When gardens begin to mature and bear fruit of the labour expanded by putting it into motion, like spring seeding. Marjorie and I got on our Harley’s and went on a three day ride around the outside perimeter of Manitoba a couple of weeks ago. Crops and gardens had matured and were maturing in and around each community. So, there is seed time and harvest which produce for us sustenance for life as we enjoy the taste of home grown fruit and vegetables. The annual cycle introduces us to an end of one season and the beginning of another. It seems that we celebrate primarily two of those seasons, even though there are four seasons. Now I can see that spring time is the reminder of new life to come. This new life introduces us to summer, the joy of growth in plants and wonderful creative gardens, representing a variety of structured beauty. Life is very similar. It has a beginning, when parents are excited for future potential of the new born human being and what it will become. Parents pour their lives into this child watching it become an independent person and a value to the community. At this time of year parents are preparing their children for another year of school, trusting others to train their children in the direction their children will be headed as they grow through their academic journey. I to have enrolled in a school of higher learning for the purpose spiritual formation and development in my own life. I am one who is interested in keeping the mind fresh and develop the heart and the spirit to influence my life’s journey. It is important to always challenge ourselves to grow in elements that influence our lives in order encourage others to do the same. God is also interested in seeing us grow and mature in our spiritual journey. The idea is to be a valued contributor to His Kingdom here on earth. This is why Jesus came to offer humans the opportunity to be redeemed from the burden of sin and released to bring peace to this crazy world of unrest, fear, and uncertainty. We can have certainty in Jesus when we place faith in Him to guide our journey. Richer Fellowship Church invites to come and learn more about the life of Jesus in us. We meet each Sunday morning at 10:30am at 50 Southeast Drive in Richer Manitoba. You can also join us live on YouTube at that same time. “Richer Fellowship” is the name of our channel. We are also on local radio – 101.9fm at 10:30am Sunday Morning.

Bell Tower Receives Facelift The Bell Tower is receiving a much needed facelift. The tower shelters the bell obtained from the Cote des Neiges Parish in Montreal in 1940 by the actions of Father Xavier Normandin. The steeple, covered with tin, is in an octagonal shaped pyramid with four triangular based facades oriented north, south, east and west. On top of the steeple covers (sphire) is a steel cross sitting on the ball. The steeple covers the bell tower where it is surrounded by wood and covered with spruce drop siding. There is no date found of the last time the bell tower was restored. As we are celebrating the Manitoba 150 the bell tower will be glorious once again in its original state. The Dawson Trail Museum would like
