Welcome to Le Rendezvous On behalf of a committee made up of almost a dozen local community organizations, I would like to welcome everyone to this celebration of cultures. The Indigenous, Métis and Francophone cultures that settled in this area and call the Richer area home, are proud of the cultural diversity. Le Rendezvous gives us all an opportunty to hear, see and taste the richness of this culture. Its also our chance to honour the community spirit that gives us hope for a bright future. We have two 150th anniversaries to celebrate: the Manitoba 150th and the Dawson Trail’s 150th! “The Dawson Trail may never have become the preferred route for settlers to the west, but its story has long since been celebrated by its communities for the pivotal role it had in the shaping of Manitoba and Canada,” explained Pierrette Sherwood, Chair of the Dawson Trail Arts & Heritage Tour on the creation of the dawsontrailtreasures.ca website.
Le Rendezvous is your glimpse of the story. If you let your senses run loose you will discover the foundations of Manitoba. We hope you enjoy your experience. I would like to thank all our sponsors and partners who have supported our efforts. All the groups involved have worked hard to get us here. To all the volunteers… thank you again for doing what you do. Get ready to dive into this program. Events are taking place at multiple locations throughout the community. There is something for everyone!
