up. That was the plan when I bought my little convertible a while back. But then came certain revelations — like the fact that putting the top down means going without any real heat or air conditioning and the fact that wind and hair do not mix. But the kicker was discovering that when the top is down, it’s not a good idea to be belting out golden oldies along with the radio (which I do), so that was that. Well, almost. I did put it down once on the way home from a Moody Blues concert. My husband and I froze, of course — and it took a full hour to comb the snarls out of our hair. But waiting at a stop light, my husband took my hand, and, with the stars shining above and the evening’s music still kindling a certain ardor, said softly, “I can smell stuff baking at that Dunkin Donuts over there.” “Me, too,” I said, breathing deeply. Technically Challenged My boss was afraid that if I design his website on MAC, that you couldn’t read it on a PC. Chris O When my mom wants to listen to music in the car, she thinks the only way to play a CD that’s already in the slot is to quickly eject it and push it back in again. Then to switch back to the radio, she ejects the CD and leaves it sticking halfway out, and then is forced to awkwardly reach her hand under it to blindly push buttons until she somehow manages to change the station. I pointed out the button that is clearly labeled “CD/Radio”, but she thinks her way is easier. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ll bet she has the same issue with computers. Billy P
