Yes, I know. Winter is cold. And sometimes winter is very dark. But on December 21st, the days began getting longer, and as long as the days are getting longer, you just have to feel it! Spring is on its way! Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch, what with March to go — when a foot of snow is not uncommon. But before we know it, ducks will be seen flying north, bears will wend their way through our yard in search of birdfeeders still full of seed, and the trees and bushes will begin popping buds — tiny, at first, but plain to those willing to look closely. And as nature awakens again, so will we. So lighten up — at least until June 21st, when the days start getting shorter and it’s time to start complaining about the heat, air conditioning bills, and weeds. It’s always something, isn’t it?
