 Imagine every detail  Produce a written plan  Have a start date!


The crucial skills: Build a team

 Seek out people to fill all the committee roles  What experiences do they have? What are their

motivations?  Find sponsors (individuals and clubs) and mentors


The crucial skills: Delegate

 Talk through and agree objectives  Coach and mentor – nurturing not micromanaging!  Regular reviews – with actions minuted and followed

up  Tackle problems early! Remember CRC!


Remember…

 Seek help and guidance from those with experience

Set Up....... A Special Purpose Committee

(SPC),which should include Club Officers

Meet at least once a month


Assign Duties to the SPC.. In accordance with the qualities and abilities of each member ie; Advertising, PR, Radio Interviews


Make Sure You....  Join The Club and Demonstrate Leadership Skills as

Club Coach ie; Do Education Spots

 Become the Coordinator and not a Dictator  Work towards achieving the Distinguished Club

Award

 Attend meetings regularly and take whatever

correction action necessary



GET SMART......  Specific...........................  Measurable.....................  Achievable......................  Realistic...........................  Time Scaled.....................


Create a.........  Sense of Urgency, otherwise it will

drag on and on…….

 The SPC to meet at least once a

month

 Always give praise, no negative

feedback

achieving the DCP


For the DCP to Succeed…….  You must achieve 5 goals for the

Distinguished Club Award
