DC WISE, Inc. (DC Women in Solidarity for Empowerment) is a non-profit organization consisting of eleven women from the local real estate world who raise money for local organizations and are dedicated to helping women and children in Washington, DC. Please join DC WISE for a night of fun, all in the spirit of helping women in our community. There will be drinks, hors d’oeuvres, sweet treats and a silent auction with wonderful items for you to bid on. This year, they have committed to supporting FAIR Girls – a DC-based organization that prevents the sexual exploitation of girls through empowerment and education. FAIR Girls provides crisis intervention, court advocacy, and comprehensive case management services to domestic and foreign-born trafficked girls. The organization is small, and the $60,000 that DC WISE is on track to raise by the end of the year would pay the annual salary of a caseworker. Each caseworker can work with up to 15 girls.

On October 1st from 6 to 8:30 pm, DC WISE will be hosting their 2nd Annual Cocktail Party + Silent Auction at Room & Board to benefit FAIR Girls. In addition to cocktails and food, the items up for auction will include a weekend stay at the Greenbrier in West Virginia, courtside Wizards tickets, VIP Capitals tickets, a wine tasting class, SoulCycle packages, and gift cards to local retailers and restaurants. The members of DC WISE include: Melanie Hayes, Mandy Mills, Claudia Vitale, Valerie Cline, Jennifer Landgraff, Lindsay Dreyer, Heather Davenport, Kymber Menkiti, Jen Angotti, Jenn Smira and Pam Wye. DC WISE’s first target organization was N Street Village, which provides services for local homeless women, including a day center, a wellness center, addiction recovery programs and community living. The group raised $30,000 for N Street Village in 2014 in its first fundraising effort.
