Meet the Department for International Trade and UKAEG Trade Mission to Cannes Lions 2022: Innovation and Creativity to Power Your Brand The Department For International Trade (DIT) is proud to be working with the Advertising Association and the UK Advertising Export Group (UKAEG) plus fantastic business partners, to bring the best of UK’s advertising sector back to the world’s biggest festival of creativity, Cannes Lions, this summer.

This brochure profiles around 40 great UK businesses that DIT has worked with UKAEG to bring on a Trade Mission to Cannes this year. Carefully selected, they hail from across the UK and bring with them innovative solutions to power your brand with creativity, drive audience engagement, apply consumer insight, data analytics and immersive technologies, among many other specialties. Cannes Lions explores the value of creativity across branded communications: from product development to creative strategy, execution, and impact. The festival provides the industry with access to the new ideas, pioneering consumer insights and emerging technologies which will help make and shape popular culture.

UK Advertising Exports Group (UKAEG) – Take your business global

The UK Advertising Export Group is the industry's global new business drive that aims to show the UK’s advertising market is not just a gateway to Britain; it’s a gateway to everywhere. Backed by the Advertising Association, the IPA, the APA, BPMA and the Creative Industries Council, the Export Group features 50+ members drawn from across the UK’s advertising and marketing services industries.

It is supported through the industry’s partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT) and includes the backing of the GREAT campaign team. Following a successful launch in 2020, UKAEG has raised the profile of British creative, media and digital companies around the world. The inaugural UK House was a partner at SXSW in 2021, attracting over 2,000 attendees from around the world and an extended partnership with DIT took UK House to Shanghai International Advertising Festival (SHIAF), broadcasting to over 500,000 viewers. The group has also featured at Cannes Lions as part of the GREAT campaign.

UKAEG has showcased over 120 UK companies in UK House to delegates joining from over 40 countries including Brazil, Japan, USA, China and the UAE. UKAEG’s virtual trade mission to SHIAF has included 20 new business meetings, 15 showcasing and presentation opportunities and in 2021 it also featured an exhibition of UK Cannes Lions’ winning work. UKAEG’s efforts in China alone have resulted in around £21.1 million of new business for companies who took part in the mission.
