Last year, Dive Otago delivered STAR funded scuba diving programmes for several secondary schools from Geraldine to Invercargill. Over 50 PADI scuba diving certifications were issued to students together with the relative NZQA Unit Standards. Students embark on a course of knowledge and skill development then go to the ocean to test those skills and get an orientation to the open water environment. The modules you will complete during the STAR Programmes can be credited towards both the Diploma in Professional Scuba Instruction and the National Certificate Programmes, giving you a head start on one of the most popular dive training courses in the country. We also offer Have a Go experiences, where you can come and try Scuba Diving in our indoor heated pool.
