As a Security Officer for The Oncenter (Convention Center, War Memorial, Civic Center), you will be responsible for the safety and security of our guests, employees, vendors, events, and facilities

What To Expect

Communicate, greet, and provide information or directions to all guests in a courteous and helpful manner. Monitor activities and facilities via CCTV; alert management and/or security team of any issues.

Perform foot patrols of the facilities, observe facility activities, and detect and prevent signs of intrusion. Conduct bag search / wand / monitor metal detectors, as necessary.

Respond to safety & security calls in a professional and timely manner.

Answer phone calls, provide guidance, direction, and notify applicable individuals.

Investigate & compile accurate incident reports.

Receive, ship, document, and track deliveries.

Maintain facility lost and found; contact individuals when lost items are identified.

Respond to fire alarm systems by investigating and notifying appropriate personnel and authorities.

Assist in evacuating all individuals from the facility to safe areas, as needed.

Work with staff to ensure clients and guests receive the highest quality service during their events.

Adhere to the department’s dress code, and present yourself in a friendly and approachable manner. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED

Previous hospitality industry, customer service, or retail experience preferred

Must pass a background check

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures

Must be able to work irregular hours including weekends, holidays, some overnight shifts, and unscheduled overtime shifts as needed

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

High level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive situations Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur

Ability to handle/resolve high tension situations and control “unruly” guests

Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance

The Role

As the Concessions Operations Manager for The Oncenter (Convention Center, War Memorial, Civic Center), you will provide high-level oversight and operational expertise in the planning, organization, and management of all event concessions resulting in the smooth, efficient, and profitable execution of events

What To Expect

Develop, implement, and revise operating policies and procedures, manage all venue concessions operations before, during, and after the event, and evaluate and recommend methods for increasing sales

Oversee a large volume of inventory, order products, and manage high volume sales

Complete post-event evaluations, data compilation, tracking of monetary and product shortages, generate reports, and serve as a resource for POS applications and training

Project staffing needs based on upcoming events, develop and monitor work schedules, work procedure guidelines, and review and submit timesheets

Participate in the processes of interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, and evaluating all levels of staff, and train new and current employees regarding company policies and best practices

Manage, develop, and mentor concession team members, and complete documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Provide direction and oversight to concessions team members and volunteers: ensure all company, state, and federal policies and procedures are adhered to, including compliance with all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards. Other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Director.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Associates Degree and five years of management experience in a customer service industry, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience in Culinary Management, Business Management, Concessions Management, or other Food & Beverage Management desired

Must be able to work irregular hours including weekends, holidays, some overnight shifts, and unscheduled overtime shifts as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment

Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, POS systems, timekeeping system

Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls

Experience ordering product for a high-volume venue

Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment

Nationally recognized food service sanitation and alcohol service training course certification preferred Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality

Physical Abilities

Ability to bend, stoop, and perform extensive walking.

Ability to exert well-paced mobility to move quickly to the different areas of the facility as service and production demands require.

The Role

As an Usher / Ticket Taker for The Oncenter, you will you help to ensure safety, maintain the cleanliness of the venue(s), and engage with guests to assist with their needs before, during, and after the show You may be assigned as an Usher, a Ticket Taker, or both depending on event scheduling

This position is part of the Local 200 United Usher/Ticket Takers Union Union members are required to pay membership dues

What To Expect

Greet all guests upon entry to facility with excellent customer service and positive attitude. Scan guest tickets, answer questions, assist guests with locating their seats, and examine tickets for entry to various locations around the venue.

Assists all needs for guests with disabilities including ticketing, entrance/exiting, seating, and other ADA compliance accommodations as needed.

Monitor assigned work area to assist in keeping the venue safe, clean, and presentable. Resolve guest complaints and/or problems; notify on-site Management if problem cannot be resolved.

Maintain predictable and reliable attendance

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

At least 1+ year in a guest services role. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Verifies opening and closing inventory stand sheet and alerts management of inventory discrepancies

Verifies all cash at the beginning and ending of shift

Oversee operations of stand during events to ensure guests receive outstanding service

Supervises, trains, and assists workers in preparation of all menu items for sale

Processes returns and voids in accordance with policies to ensure guest satisfaction

Handles and resolves guests’ issues with their orders in a timely and efficient manner

Inputs sales using POS system, accepts payment, and calculates change accurately

Ensures proper cash control procedures are being followed

Ensures employees always project a positive attitude and energy to customers.

Supervises, delegates tasks, and inspects cleanup of stand including all equipment, countertops, and floors.

Qualifications
