GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE

Golf is a sport where etiquette is of paramount importance. Conformity to rules and regulations on all golf facilities, golf etiquette is mandatory for all golf members and guests to have maximum enjoyment. Consideration for one another is a most important rule of golf.

RESPECT FOR THE GOLF CLUB

1. Follow the Rules: Adhere to the club’s policies regarding dress code, cart usage, and play.

2. Pay Fees Promptly: Settle green fees, membership dues, or any other charges without delay.

3. Be Polite to Staff: Treat club employees, such as caddies, groundskeepers, and attendants, with courtesy and gratitude.

4. Use Facilities Responsibly:

• Avoid causing damage to club property, including lockers, carts, and practice areas.

• Clean up after yourself in the clubhouse, restrooms, or dining areas

Your membership

GENERAL RULES

1. Tee times are recommended and have priority on walk-ins.

2. All members must sign in at the Proshop, even if golfer is using the monthly package. This includes when playing in the monthly Members Tournament

3. Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a golf member and must be registered in the Proshop as a junior guest. All junior guests must be certified prior to use the golf facilities by the golf professional staff.

4. All guests must be able to adhere to the “Pace of Play” policy.

5. The golf course may not be used for any purpose other than playing golf. Non-players are not permitted on the golf course1

GOLF RULES

1. Golfers must repair their ball marks upon reaching the green.

2. Golfers must have their own set of clubs and bags

3. Golfers must enter bunkers at a low point, rake footprints and other depressions and exit bunkers at the same low point.

4. Golfers must avoid scuffing greens with spikes.

5. Golfers must fill divots with the sand provided in each cart.

6. During peak hours, the starter and the golf shop will pair singles and twosomes. ONLY FOURSOMES AND THREESOMES HAVE STANDING. The use of a shared golf cart is mandatory.

7. Slow golfers who have a hole open in front of them must invite faster golfers to play through. A round of golf, for the enjoyment of all, should take approximately four and half (4.5) hours for 18holes and approximately two (2) hours for 9-holes.

8. Beginning golfers must play during NON-PEAK hours.

9. In order to be eligible to play in golf tournaments, each golfer is required to post each 9- or 18-hole golf score on a score card and put in the appropriate box outside The Proshop. The card must contain each golfer’s full name, club number, date of play and tees played. This scorecard must be signed by the player and a marker.

10. Cellular telephones are to be kept on silent or vibrate mode while on the golf course and should be used only in case of emergency. Any usage of cellular telephones beyond emergency calls should be considerate to other golfers.

11. Range balls are provided for use only on Golf Practice Facilities and may not be removed or used for any other purpose.

GOLF CART USE

1. Golfer must have a valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart.

2. No more than two golfers and two golf bags are permitted on the golf cart.

3. There will be a maximum of two carts when playing a foursome and one cart when playing a twosome unless a cart rider is with the players2 .

4. Carts are to be used only on the golf course and may not be driven off the golf course except to access the starting hole and to return to the staging area. Carts are not permitted in the parking lot, valet area or in any part of the residential complex, without special permission.

5. Carts must remain on cart paths where provided in order to access the tee shot. When reaching the point on the cart path adjacent to the tee shot, the cart may be driven from the cart path at a ninety-degree angle to the tee shot. Thereafter the carts may scatter to play additional shots using both rough and fairways. Where feasible, fairways should be crossed at a ninety-degree angle.

6. Carts should not pass the cart exit markers in front of the green. During play on or near the green, the cart should be parked, past the flagstick, and must remain on the cart path or twenty-five yards away from the green

7. Please do not remove posts to access the course.

8. Any member or guest who causes damage to a golf cart, golf course or golf facilities is responsible for repair or replacement costs.

CONSECUTIVE PLAY

1. Golfer must start on the tee designated by the starter.

2. Golfer must play the holes in consecutive order.

3. No driving through is allowed.

4. Golfers stopping for any reason except for the use of toilet facilities forfeit their place and will receive further instructions from the starter.

ATTIRE ON THE GOLF COURSE AND GOLF PRACTICE FACILITY

1. Only soft spike golf shoes or sneakers may be worn on the practice facilities and the golf course.

2. Men and junior male golfers should wear generally accepted golf attire only, which includes long/short trousers, pants or walking shorts. Shirts must have collars and sleeves. Long and short sleeve mock turtleneck sweaters are acceptable.

3. Women and junior female golfers should wear generally accepted golf attire only, which includes golf shorts, skorts, slacks or walking shorts. Women’s tops must have either a collar or sleeves.

The following articles of clothing are inappropriate for golfing: Cargo shorts/Pants, Short shorts, Bathing Suits, T-shirts, Undershirts, Blue jeans, Denim Shorts, Halter tops and Tube tops.

Club Management will determine what “generally accepted” attire is.

RAIN CHECKS

If golfer paid for 18 holes and plays between 3 holes and 12 holes, a rain check will be honoured for 9 holes. If more than 12 holes are played, there will be no rain check applicable

CONSEQUENCES OF NON-COMPLIANCE

By joining, members agree to adhere to the following rules and guidelines. Failure to adhere to any of the above rules and guidelines may result in disciplinary action, up to and including the revocation of membership. The club reserves the right to assess violations on a case-by-case basis and take appropriate measures to maintain the integrity and enjoyment of the club for all members.
