LTG LTG Hi Manta Rays! I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer! For many of us, school has begun, BUT even though this might mean more stress from classes, it also means many more Key Club events and opportunities! With school in session, it will be much easier to stay in the “key club loop” and attend events. With school starting, fall is approaching. This means it is time to start grinding out service hours and fundraising for charities. Time is ticking down to Fall Rally, which means the next few months are going to have a rush of fundraisers, service projects, events, and more! Please make sure to keep up your hard work and strive to reach our goals for this term!! I’ll see all of you guys soon at the next events :-)

division news news editor editor division BACK TO SCHOOL ALREADY :0 Howdy Manta Rays, it’s your boy Josh back with the latest Manta Messenger! I seriously cannot believe that it is already school season. From honors classes to AP’s to the SAT to college applications, there’s one thing that you can NEVER forget to do, and that’s volunteer! A big part of feeling fulfilled in life doesn’t come from an A on a test or a pretty project, it comes from helping others! Luckily, here in D15E that’s what we’re all about! Get up and get and make your time in high school the best time ever by getting involved in your community. Gliding in Service,

key club club moment moment My key club moment was during freshman year fall rally. I had experienced my first spirit battle against Division 15 North, and it was amazing. I yelled all the cheers and did my best to represent my division. In that moment, I realized that I had fallen in love with key club. I love key club because it’s so unique and represents social service. I’m proud to a part of my division and serve my community. I not only get to celebrate community service, but I also get to meet new people and have fun. I love how I’m always comfortable to be outgoing and express my ideas in this organization; it brings out the best in myself. Samantha Medina from Eleanor Roosevelt

Zoom! A wild manta ray on wheels zips past you in a flash! Where else would you see such a sight except at the Region 13 roller skating fundraiser? The D15N Giraffes, D15S Belugas, D35E Elephants, and D15E Manta Rays had a blast skating together while raising money for PTP. Even though many key clubbers, including the LTGs, fell along the way, it was a perfect night to bond with others. Sanya Dhama, Santiago’s Club Treasurer says, “I loved that everybody was laughing and falling together during the roller skating fundraiser...It was a success; so many funds went towards PTP and helped our community!”

One month of summer break has already gone by in a blink of an eye! Not only did our Manta Rays meet new people within our division, but they also formed new bonds with people in D15N (Giraffes) and D15S (Belugas). Although the competitive spirit and the outside temperature was high, everyone enjoyed the event, checking off another successful annual tradition. Ernie Padilla, Santiago’s Club President says, “It was an amazing event to attend, and especially to help run... Regardless if they were friends or not, I saw members interacting with one another and having an amazing time.”

On July 13, Division 15 East had a Boba Fundraiser to raise money for PTP. During this fundraiser, members who attended were able to interact with others and make new friends. The Boba Fundraiser not only brought people together, but it also gave a good start to raising money for PTP for the new term.

On July 23rd and July 30th, JFK Key Club’s president, Joan Santos and vice president, Katrina Licup, went to the Home Garden’s Library. They worked with young kids, teaching them collaborative teamwork skills by constructing aqueducts and other STEM related projects. John F. Kennedy key club is looking forward to continuing working with these kids every Tuesday. 14
