What's Poppin Manta Rays! It's a time to think of what you are thankful for because Thanksgiving is upon us. I'm sure most of us are thankful for a week-long break, giving some of us seniors time to work on college applications or time to sleep in. We have passed the halfway mark for the term, which is honestly crazy to think! I have watched the division evolve for 6 months, and I am proud of what's come out of it. New friendships, growing participation, new passionate members, and division events have all been highlights for me, and I hope for you too. Even though things seem to be winding down after Fall Rally, keep up the energy and good work! Again, we are halfway through the term, meaning there are more opportunities and more goals to reach. Volunteer at a food drive, host a boba fundraiser for PTP or have a loud karaoke party, the possibilities are still endless. Let's continue to just keep swimming, and power through the next half of the term!

Submitted by our Service VP, Jazmin Mina. Our recent club meeting elected Officer Reps for each grade. The voting was taken place during our meeting. We elected 2 representatives for each grade. Our club promoted a service event at the river clean up. We offered 4 hours for the event. All promotions were posted on our instagram, @hillcrest.key Submitted by our Service VP, Jazmin Mina. Hillcrest Key Club ran a fruit tea booth for our homecoming carnival. Our officer board brought in a variety of ingredients, where we sold peach/mango and strawberry fruit tea with toppings to our peers. We were able to raise around $300 for our school club,

Our big event this past month was our September Karaoke and Potluck social! On Saturday, September 25, from 4-8, twenty four members of MLK Key Club met up at our secretary Emily’s house for a fun, outdoor social event which also gave members an opportunity for some service hours. The service hours were in the form of “Letters of Kindness,” in which students wrote kind messages to other students or faculty members on campus within origami hearts. We first opened with a fun icebreaker, then members took turns sampling food that people brought. There was a great variety of food from deserts to main entrees. For the last few hours of the social, groups of people did karaoke. This event would not be possible without the MLK officer board’s coordination and the Alejandre family who allowed a venue for this event to occur.

How did Key Club Become Special to you?

likes !!

i joined key club my freshman year of highschool at John w north for simply community service. As I joined the DLT this past year I realized it’s so much more than that. There’s a special bond formed with my DLT that has made me love key club to its fullest! The inclusivity and engagement of all the events are really encouraging.
