I hope you all are enjoying your summer so far! I know that I certainly am having a great time. Your Kiwanis Clubs have said many great things about what you have been doing this summer. Don’t forget to keep up the good work! This is the edition of The Key of 23 where I get to tell you all of my ICON experience at the beginning of July. There are some pictures included here for it as well. Also, there are some messages from Executive Board members! As you all begin the school year yet again, do not forget about Key Club! There are so many great opportunities coming within the next year and many new experiences for you all to take advantage of! Please grow your clubs to the best of your ability; it is very important to Key Club as a whole, it will help you in the long run, trust me. Finally, please send in those Monthly Report Forms! March-July forms are due for most clubs, so please send those in! Let me know if you have any questions! Yours in friendship and service, Josh Hill Lt. Governor

Greeting from Josh

Youth Opportunities Fund YOF, also known as the Youth Opportunities Fund is an endowed fund for Key Club International held within the Kiwanis International Foundation. The fund allows Key Clubs and their members to serve the world, have fundraisers, and other great things by providing grants for service opportunities. Clubs are allowed to apply for these funds if necessary to assist their club's functioning and to help them accomplish things that they want to do like raise money for Eliminate, host a local senior center dance, etc. You too can apply for these funds. Clubs may request funding assistance anywhere from $100 to $2000. Applications for the Youth Opportunities Fund are due by Monday, October 15th. You will find out whether or not your club has received the grant no later than January 15th. Remember to ask reasonably and be considerate, because there are many clubs out there that need these grants too. I hope this will be a helpful resource for your club this year and for the years to come. Fore more information please follow the links provided. Over the Summer‌ Now, I know that not many clubs have been active over the summer, but do not fret because the school year is in full swing and so is the Key Club year. However, I have been working all summer to try and make this upcoming year a success (with your help)! In June, I attended an Officer Training Session at William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, NY for Divisions 8 & 8A and it was fun! All the members asked about our Division and what your clubs were like. A week later, I was off to International Convention (see previous issue) in Orlando, Florida where 1,700 Key Clubbers from around the world came together to celebrate the outgoing Service Year. It was a blast to be there! Truly an experience I will never forget; it was much like an LTC but on a smaller scale. Let me know if you and your club did any projects or fundraisers over the summer, let me know! I would love to hear! In addition, I worked this summer for Webster Parks and Recreation at their Wrap Around Summer Camp for kids in grades K-7.
