LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR LETTER

Hey Unicorns! I hope that you are all enjoying your summer vacation. Of course even with your time off from school, that doesn’t mean Key Club stops! To keep up with everything Key Club, make sure to check out the Save the Date flyer on page 3 for all the upcoming events in the PNW! One of these events include Seattle Rally, which will be held on July 29th at Northwood Middle School from 9-4. I strongly encourage all officers to attend so that they can attend their respective training workshops. Members should also attend to help with their post-DCON syndrome! In Love and Service, Christina Nguyen Lieutenant Governor of Division 26 Pacific Northwest District Key Club International

I N T E R N AT I O N A L C I N D I A N A P O L I The experience to get a ICON is almost like a DCON on steroids. The very first day we were running around "moosing" people at the meet and greet to show them some PNW love. While we had a lot of similar things like a recognition session, and talent show we had the opportunity to share 2 sessions with the whole Kiwanis Family. We elected our new International Board and were gladly known as the room that grilled candidates during caucusing. We learned about how far a simple hug can go from Tim, and saw Maria pledge 3 million dollars to the Eliminate project. It was amazing to see the scope of Kiwanis International and to be surrounded by so many adults that believed in what Key Club is doing. ICON was a friendly reminder that as a Kiwanis Family we are filled with servant leaders ready to change the world.

I N D I A N A The 2015 Key Club International Convention celebrated the 90th birthday of Key Club and the 100th birthday of Kiwanis, and was amazing. ICON is similar to DCON in that it was full of interesting and fun workshops, as well as amazing people, but different in many ways. First, it is smaller than PNW DCON, but you can meet people from even farther away. Did you know that PNW and Eastern Canada are besties? Second, International House of Delegates is far more intense compared to DCON’s HoD, a fact that this year’s HoD Committee is working to change. This years HoD also passed some amendments that affect the club District levels. And third, The Pacific Northwest District is the best District around!
