4 - Day 1: Spirit Wear Day 6 - Day 2: It’s Time for Business 8 - Day 3: Goodbyes & Hellos 10 - District Newsletter 11 - LTG Letter

“On the first day of DCON, April 7th was spirit day. It took place in Anaheim, California. Many key clubbers from different divisions of California, Nevada, and Hawaii were dressed up in their colored spirit gears, representing their division. There were so many people who attended this year. Seeing others who enjoy the club as much as I do made me feel like I belonged and was a part of something special.

“How do you feel?” someone would ask. Every key clubber would yell with “WE FEEL GOOD OH WE FEEL SO GOOD UGH WE FEEL FINE ALL OF THE TIME! ABOOGA, ABOOGA, ABOOGA, BOOGA, BOOGA!” The whole convention center was filled with our voices and it felt as if the room was shaking in our presence. In the convention center was where the general sessions happened. They talked about our achievements and the many services we have done. In the hotel tower, there were different rooms. In each room was a type of workshop. Workshops such as event planning, how to BEE a leader, Circle K 101,

the Kiwanis family, and many more. In there, they talked about the subjects and educated us on what it was about. We admired the divisions’ achievements, learned more about Key Club and what we can do, and also became friends with many other key clubbers.” - Alizandra Mompar // Marina VP

“Going to DCON was an amazing opportunity and I hope more members can go next year. On the first day, we got to see so many different divisions. The halls were full of colorful and vibrant key clubbers dressed in their spirit gear. They were all full of happiness and excitement, and it made me feel excited to be there. I didn't get to go to any sessions but I did get to make new friends and take pictures with strangers which was interesting. While walking around and getting registered, I experienced divisions battles, dance battles, and getting asked how I felt. It was a very entertaining day; after exploring the hotel and food court, my club and I walked to the general session in the convention center. In the convention center we heard speeches by advisors and past members that have benefited from being a part of key club. The first day impacted me by being more open to step out of my shell and to show more spirit to represent my division.“ - Lissette Maclin // Seaside Treasurer

“On the 2nd day of DCON, after we ate breakfast at the convention, we continued to go to education sessions. I learned new ideas, new icebreakers, and new ways on how to sprout relationships. During these sessions, I got to meet other key clubbers with so many great ideas that were very new to me. During the awards ceremony, we watched a talent show which was very entertaining. At the end of the night, we were screaming and dancing at Governor’s Ball, being one of my best experience at DCON.” - Shannen Sicat // Seaside Historian

The District Convention in Anahiem was an unforgettable experience. Day two was professional attire. We started off the day by eating breakfast then that was followed by attending seven workshops. Some of those workshops informed us about some improvements we could do that consists of fundraising and photography. Later that day, we all attended an award ceremony. The night ended with Governor's Ball. - Yhidah Curiel // Marina Member

“DCON 2017 was a pretty amazing experience for me. Having the chance to plant the seeds of service with the Cali-Nev-Ha District and being able to reunite with old key clubbers from FRN and even some from RTC was absolutely wicked memorable! I have to say that being a second timer going to DCON, Day 3 was pretty

bittersweet. From seeing everyone crying and tearing up from the final general session, to our IP District Governor Matty B look-a-like Kevin Myron giving his closing withdrawal speech,

and even seeing LTGs retire and new LTGs being installed for the 2017-2018 term, I have to admit it's been a killer ride of a term. I can't wait to see what DCON 2018 has in store for us next year! - Sandy Le // Seaside VP
