A LETTER FROM YOUR
LTG
Greetings BEE-AUTIFUL Tigers! I am sad to say that the end of summer has finally come to an end. We will soon be back to waking up early and staying up late to study for tests in that one subject we just can not get. Please try to avoid future late nighters by not procrastinating though! You all should be shooting for at least 5 hours of sleep each night! Though I hope you all enjoyed these past 2 months to the fullest, it is also my wish that all of you stayed active in serving your home, school, and community. Maybe it was something simple as having a meeting to plan the term out, or something bigger like holding a school supply drive with your sponsoring Kiwanis! Whatever it was, I thank you for remaining active and spending some of your time out of the day to make a difference! Since we will be entering fall season, make sure you all are ready for everything that is on its way like Region Training Conference, spirit gear, and the renowned Fall Rally North! I can not wait to see our division's spirit at these events! Thank you for being a Division 43 Tiger everyone! <3

\ \ WHAT’S UP FELLOW TIGERS! If you aren’t familiar with me yet, my name is Shannen Sicat and I will be serving you as your Spirit Coordinator for 2017-2018 term! I’m so excited and so honored to be given this opportunity. I’ll be in charge of organizing FRN prep days, create new & exciting yet "cringey" cheers and videos! and get members to enjoy and get hyped up to hopefully win a spirit stick and show other key clubbers from other divisions that WE ARE LOUD AND PROUD!!! I also want to influence other people that FRN is a really fun and memorable experience. To go home with a big smile on their face and wake up with a sore throat with no regrets! Hopefully increasing the members in our division and increasing the KEY CLUB SPIRIT! Let’s show other Key Clubbers that WE HAVE SPIRIT!!!
Hello Tigers, my name is Yhidah Curiel-Jimenez! I will be one of the Spirit Coordinators for this term. Although being a Spirit Coordinator is to not just create and teach cheers, but it is to help spread the enthusiasm that we all should have towards this club! I am very excited to work with you all this upcoming term as your spirit coordinator!
What's CRACK-A-LACKIN' TIGERS! My name is Sandy Le and I am your recent upcoming social media task coordinator for the 2017-2018 term, I also happen to be one of the Vice Presidents for Seaside High Key Club -- both of which are daunting indeed. To keep it short and simple, I'll be the person behind the scenes in charge of our division's social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. I am an incoming junior and monumentally enjoy bingewatching to Korean Drama shows on the daily. It's not a phase, it's a lifestyle!

TASK COORDINATORS
Hi, my name is Shelby Do and I'm your MNT Coordinator for this term. MNT stands for maternal and neonatal tetanus and it kills a baby every fifteen minutes. The tetanus kills the mother too. MNT effects when tetanus spores can come into contact with open cuts during childbirth. You can stop MNT with three doses of an immunization protect mothers that can be passed down their future babies. As a team, Kiwanis and UNICEF can stop this disease.
My name is Rebeca Laguna and I’m proud to say that I will be serving you as your 2017-2018 Member Recognition Chair. This year I will be a senior at San Benito High School. I have been in Key Club since my sophomore year and I’ve loved every year with this club and I look forward to this upcoming year. Along with Key Club, I am involved in leadership, the school musical, and varsity tennis. Outside of school, I enjoy baking, listening to music, and loving my cat. I ope to work with you all so that those who work had this year receive recognition for that hard work.

A CHANCE TO DANCE Outside of Key Club, I do many activities around my community. I have been dancing since I was very little. I go to a dance studio called SpectorDance where I am part of the Spector Dance Youth Company, I get the opportunity to participate in outreach per formances around the Monterey County. These performances usually take place at libraries and retirement homes. During these outreach performances we showcase snippets of our school performances or pieces which we have been learning throughout the past few months. Each outreach per for mance is about 45 minutes long. Whenever we perform at libraries, we give the kids mini ballet classes. Dance has always been a part of my life especially since I was little and I hope to continue this in the future.
-CHERRIE PAGHASIAN, MONTEREY TREASURER
Kids at the Park On June 21st, Hollister held its annual Kids At The Park event. It’s an event that I really enjoy because all the kids look excited and happy. This year, Rebecca and I were assigned to pass out fruit. Everyone who came to our booth got a cup of strawberries and watermelon and somehow we also ended up passing out cubed cheese and carrots. It was a very pleasant experience as it is every year, even when a gopher popped up behind us. It was also nice to see other club members participating in one of my favorite events. What I got out of it was a pair of fruit stained sneakers, pride in the members, and officers of San Benito, and happiness stemming from the kids’ happiness

For the month of July, we had a tent in Marina in front of T-Mobile. Inside it had many different kinds of fireworks. We decorated posters and held up signs in order to promote the sale. We were very energetic when we were advertising for the fireworks. Some even came and bought fireworks themselves because of it! I was pretty pumped myself to see the packages of fireworks ready to be lit for the 4th of

K# Club Training Conference RECAP
My first experience at KCTC was one to remember. The day started out bleak but as the day progressed and the ice breakers kicked in, the day seemed more promising. With the combination of welcoming people with amazing presentations, my first KCTC was one to remember.
-KYANA ALEDO, SEASIDE MEMBER This was my second time attending KCTC, but this year as a club president. KCTC is short for Key Club Training Conference, where key club members and officers come to learn more about officer positions, do’s and don’ts, key club as a whole, and a nice day at the beach; though this year was more temperate and without much
sunlight. Nonetheless, I had a fun time with key club members from other areas and met some friends I had made at CTC.
-MARTIN TANSECO, MARINA PRESIDENT KCTC was fun with the sand castle building and the cool presentations. I was expecting better weather but at least it wasn't super hot. The leaders seemed very enthusiastic even though their audience's reaction was a little dry. I like the effort. It was a very chill event because I got to bond with other key club members from my division and others.

EDITOR’S NOTE
Happy August Tigers!! Are you ready for the new school year? I may not be one to speak but be sure you’re healthy, rested, and prepared. Balancing your studies and extracurriculars can be difficult but I know we can all do it! Summer break is pretty much over so I’m hoping you all made the best of it and stayed productive. My summer was ridiculously uneventful but I’m glad I got to breathe a little bit and relax before getting back into the stress of school. This key club term still has a lot to offer us so try and keep up with service events and school work. Anyways, I had a lot of fun putting together this second newsletter for you all and I’ve been fine tuning things along the way so I hope you enjoyed reading this issue! Catch you in the next one! : )
