Ltg’s letter SALUTATIONS TIGERS! School has finally come to a close while summer has just begun. That does not that your love for service should disappear like any thoughts of school! I definitely recommend taking advantage of summer to start planning ahead for future events because, once fall season hits, we will all bee busy bees! Also, as Immediate Past District Secretary Angel Lau would always say, “to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is to be unacceptable.” In both Key Club and life in general, make sure to stay on top of your deadlines! They have the tendency to sort of just sneak up on you. Remember to also just enjoy your summer! Go hang out with friends and family, try to get something off of you bucket list, and just be the active members of your community that you all are!

Rebuilding Together - Xilonem Perez // Seaside, Member

Rebuilding Together is an organization where the youth comes together and repair people's houses who can't physically or financially do it on their own. We automatically split up into groups to paint different sections of a house an elderly lady couldn't do on her own. It was pretty fun because we interacted with each other. We slowly made our way to the back where we could really see how bad of a state the house was in. We got to finish most of the house and afterwards, Rebuilding Together bought us In-N-Out which I thought was very sweet.

Governor’s Visit

- Martin Tanseco // Marina, President

Lieutenant Governor Leanne and I attended the Kiwanis Governor's Visit at Scotts Valley. While we had dinner at Bruno's BBQ, Lt. Governor Valerie, First Lady Jeannette Edwards, and Governor Pete Edwards spoke about the different things Kiwanis wanted to focus on this term. It was a fun and eye opening experience to how Kiwanis operates and what their personal and district level goals are. Not only were we able to meet people from Kiwanis clubs besides our own, but we also met members from UC Santa Cruz’s Circle K!
