LETTER FROM YOUR LTG What’s Up Turtle Squad?
I hope you're all enjoying your summers so far. Since July 5th, I
have been away at International Convention. It is an amazing experience and I highly recommend that everyone attends for following years. There are numerous workshops and activates that will assist you in strengthening your skills as a future leader. Be sure to check out my ICON update in the August edition of “The Turtle Monthly.” Portland Rally is going to be on August 6th. It will be at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, 9AM-6PM. This year’s theme is “Light up our world through service.” This will be a black light/ neon theme. Be sure to bring a buddy! Check out pages 8-9 for more info Before I rap up this letter, I’d like to give a quick shout out to a couple clubs! Southridge High School made their very first KCCH meeting together!! They did a presentation and got to meet our adult partners! Also, Sunset High school has pledged $800 to KCCP! Woo! In Love and Service,
Lieutenant Governor of Division 65 East Pacific Northwest District | Key Club International

JUNE DCM
RECAP This DCM was probably the best way to kick off the summer! The June DCM was more of a kick back kind of meeting. We played some fun ice breakers, did a “miracle minute,” and you all got to see me spring like Usain Bolt ! At the DCM, we also began to make our club posters – posters clubs will keep throughout the year to bring to events and rallies. In addition to this, we raised $44.26 for KCCP and sundaed the divisional board in the face!

Get to know our Kiwanis partners. VISION PARTNERS Landscape Structures Inc. has been creating innovative playground equipment since 1971. Think of the impact your club could have in your community by constructing a playground as a signature project. Ask your members if giving children a place to play is the right project for your club. See Kiwanis playgrounds and find a local representative at playlsi.com. Nickelodeon’s The Big Help campaign puts kids into action to do something about issues communities face. Kiwanis clubs are encouraged to work with their SLPs on projects like Worldwide Day of Play—when the network goes black and kids are encouraged to head outdoors and help their community. Learn what your club can do to engage at nick.com/thebighelp. The U.S. Army partnership is based on a foundation of shared values. Engaging in local opportunities, U.S. Army personnel connect with Kiwanis family members and provide access to local battalion support and resources. Contact your local battalion to invite soldiers to speak at a club meeting, take part in service projects and become Kiwanis members. goarmy.com.
