June 16th June DCM: Senior SendOff
July 1st Coins to Cure at Bethany Village
Every Thursday KCCH Meetings
A Letter From Your LtG
Hey Turtles, I hope that you have all had a wonderful month of June so far! I am so proud of your work, and I look forward to seeing your love of service continue into the summer with lots of events and fundraisers. In addition to that, I hope to see you at my summer DCMs, such as the upcoming June DCM of the Senior Send - Off on June 16th , and at other events, such as Coins to Cure on July 1st. While summer is a great time to relax, remember that service never stops! The next couple of months will give you a lot of time to give back to your community, and to see what you can do to change the world around you. Make sure to ask your club officers about any upcoming events, and check the PNW Division 65 East Facebook page for updates on divisional events! In Love and Service, Julia Dayton
June DCM: Senior Send Off
Hey, Division 65 East and West! It has been a long and productive year, and I am so proud to announce that our June DCM will be our annual Senior Send Off! There, we will have a chance to hang out, eat some food, and celebrate our seniors, who have dedicated themselves to serving the community. As this is a potluck, we hope that those who attend bring food items (including drinks, main dishes, desserts, and everything in between). Hope you see you there!
Coins to Cure
Hey, turtles! I am so excited to announce the finalized date for our first Coins to Cure! This event will be on the 1st of July, and will be held at Bethany Village near Westview High School. Please visit our divisional Facebook page for more information, as well as to find the event page! Hope to see you all there!

Sharing Our Story Julia asked me to write how I was introduced to Kiwanis and about my experience with Kiwanis. When I was first married, my father-in-law went to a service club. All I knew was that always came home from meetings – happy. And he didn’t invite me to attend. And I WANTED to attend. I wanted to come home from meetings – happy. I was asked to join Kiwanis a few years ago. I did not know anything about Kiwanis. I just wanted to come home from a meeting happy. So I went and joined that night. I have figured out what made him happy. It may be the same things that makes you happy when you do a Key Club meeting or project. Volunteering and leadership training is always in the background for me. What I look forward to – what makes me happy is that the volunteering and even meetings without volunteering are done by people who became my friends. I like hanging out with my friends. There is a good thing about Key Club in that freshmen and seniors get to hang out together on an equal footing. In Kiwanis I get to hang out on equal footing with high school kids and 94 year old people. I get to have friends in the full range of ages of life. Can you imagine the honor of sharing a friends last days and then funeral. We get that in Kiwanis. We get lifetimes of friendships. Remember – someone asked me to join. I would not have known Kiwanis or Key Club existed without that asking. Make the Key Club your Key Club. Then ask kids to join you in Key Club. When you get out of high school - join CKI if you have one at your college. But if you don’t have a CKI in your college – Join us. I am asking you. Mel Adams Area Administrator and Kiwanian
