LETTER FROM YOUR LTG SCHOOL IS BACK! I hope you’re all enjoying school so far! Summer is over and school is in session! My summer was definitely one to remember. I got to go to attend not only Portland Rally (haha duh), but also Tacoma Rally and Seattle Rally! I also had the opportunity to attend International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. I don’t know how many times I have to say this, but I am so grateful for having Cedar Hills Kiwanis, Aloha High School PTO, and all the other people who helped support my trip to ICON. It was definitely a life changing, eye opening, and rewarding experience. Be sure to check out the KCCP merchandise (pg 15) Merchandise orders will be done online, however payments will have to be physically done. Online order deadline is October 15th and you must give me your payments before November 5th. You may pay me at either a DCM or give the money/check (make checks payable to PNW Key Club) in a concealed envelope to a club officer. The envelopes must be labled with your name, item(s) purchased, and school. In addition to merchandise, our division will start the T-shirt Design Contest!! Designs will be due on October 31st. The winner will receive a free shirt! Our division will soon be selling lanyards as well! All profits will be going to KCCP! Starting in November – December, after T-shirt designing settles down, we will open up the Crew Neck designs as well! So keep your eyes out! In Love and Service,
Lieutenant Governor of Division 65 East Pacific Northwest District | Key Club International

DIVISIONAL BOARD JULIA DAYTON EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Hello, turtles! I hope you had a fun and restful summer! It has been such a joy meeting you all at our summer DCMs and at Portland Rally, and I can't wait to see you all in the future! Hearing of your service throughout the summer, and your plans for this year has proven that service truly never stops, and that's what Key Club is really about! If you ever need help with planning your projects, or if you have any questions, please feel free to message me; I am here to aid you in any way that I can. Also, if I haven't oďŹƒcially met you yet, feel free to come up to me or message me and say hi! I look forward to working with all of you this year, and here's to another turtle-tastic school year!
ROSIE NGUYEN FUNDRAISING CHAIR
This past month I have been getting back into fundraising opportunities. By the end of next month I hope to have Westview out of debt, which means more focus on raising money as a division! I have contacted several events that would be willing to donate per volunteer, so the more we bring to these events, the more we would be benefiting our division's financial status. An additional shout out to those who showed up at the Color Run on August 20. Unfortunately, the organization that was supposed be supplying the donation were not able to be found, but the coordinator has been contacted, and a compromise may be reached. Thanks to all who came out to give their support! :))
DIVISIONAL BOARD MARK HUYNH Schools coming up, but that also means Key Club and volunteering events are just on the horizon! Meaning yet another great year of service and dedication in store for us, working towards our new service project: KCCP (Kiwanis Children's Caner Association). With DCON being in Portland this year, there's going to be a ton of us going to convention, meaning there is going to be a lot of potential for more people running for higher oďŹƒce. So spread the word to your schools! Many of the board members are where they are today because of the eye-opening experience that they had at convention, so I highly recommend this to every single one of you.
SANRITA UNG SPIRIT COORDINATOR
SPIRIT COORDINATOR
Hello turtles! This month, I have been trying really hard to figure out a way to manage my time between homework, school in general, and being a spirit coordinator for our division. I plan on paying close attention to my weaknesses as a student so I can be a better and more productive person outside of it. A planner is going to be my lifesaver this year. Also, since school is just around the corner, I can finally promote key club to more students in school. This way, we can have more people for Division 65 East attend DCON next year! I’m really excited to see how successful our division can get and how fun everything is going to be.
Hi everyone! I first would like to say that I hope you all had a wonderful summer break! I honestly felt like school just ended yesterday, and here we are back at it again with another school year! As we begin going back, I'm hoping all of your guys' passion for service and Key Club is still there! My goal during the school year is to take pictures when volunteering at events to show the new members joining key club see the visuals of what Key Club is all about. I feel that showing new members how passionate we are at doing community service, and that it's so rewarding to give back to the community! I'm so stoked on what 2016-2017 will bring, and hope to see new faces as well!

16’-17’ (TURTLE) SQU Personal Statement: Before getting elected, I was required to make an election flyer which attendees at the LtG election rally would look at. I had three goals/ plans listed on there, which were creating K-Family Relations, emphasizing service, and creating a DLT. Currently, I can strongly say (of course) that we can cross off DLT.

Now that I am halfway through my term, I have set a couple more goals that I believe we can achieve together! Some of these goals are long term, and some are just short term. These goals can only be achieved together! In December, I’ll be re-sharing these goals to you all. Let’s see what we can check off by then!

INCREASE MEMBER INVOLVEMENT Our member involvement has increased so much in these past six months. It’s great seeing you all at DCMs, rallies OTHER THAN PORTLAND, and at socials. However, it tends to be the same group of people every time. By December, I hope to see more school diversity at events and DCMs. We have a strong attendance from Aloha and Westview, but not so much from Sunset, Southridge, and Beaverton. I challenge Sunset, Southridge, and Beaverton to surpass the attendance of Westview or Aloha! You guys can do it!
OF MEMBERSHIP & MEMBER EDUCATION
at it seems. A bigger membership for Division 65 East means we can have a stronger service embers we have means that we can do more. Spreading the word about Children’s Cancer, or ke in Nepal, or helping the homeless in Portland can be stronger and more impactful. This 0 paid members! Each club averages 123 members per club. We can do it! Club is more than a club. I want to inform Key Clubbers that they belong to a division, a district, miliar with the K-family, with what an LtG is, and also a DCM. We are high schoolers after all, so I . During the school year, I hope to do more club visits and presentations, sparking the interest towards Key Club knowledge.

Each month, Division 65 East editors will be creating pages for the divisional newsletter where they will share what's poppin in their clubs. This month, they will tell us a little about their club goals!
Have FUNNER Meetings
A lot of our meetings are just talking about service projects. This year, we want to make meetings something students don’t want to miss out on. We will make them more interactive and inclusive for all.
Aloha’s Goals
Increase Paid MEMBERSHIP
Last year, we had about 70 paid members. By the end of dues season, we hope to reach at least 90 paid members
Increase Member KNOWLEDGE
Not many members know that our club isn’t the only Key Club. Many members are unaware that we belong to a division, district, and international, nor do they know about the KFamily. During our terms, we hope to properly educate our members in order to help better their experience!
Fundraise, Fundraise, FUNDRAISE!
Our club hopes to raise enough money to fundraise for KCCP, KCCH’s Nepal project, and DCON!
Increase DCON ATTENDANCE
Since DCON will be in Portland this year, our club hopes to bring 30-40 kids to DCON. As said by our LTG, DCON inspires and motivates members; opening their eyes to the other side of Key Club. We want members to feel that fuzzy feeling for service – that feeling most members get after attending DCON.
Increase Member INVOLVEMENT
We noticed that most of the time, it’s the same exact group of students attending divisional and district events. This year, we hope to inspire members to boost our involvement beyond a club level.
• Increase membership, especially in freshmen and sophomores • Maintain membership involvement and spirit throughout the year • Have more volunteer opportunities available to members • Diversify our volunteer activities in order to give members different opportunities that interest them specifically • Increase use of and activity on social media
