I pledge on my honor to uphold the objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school, and community; to serve my nation and God; and to combat all forces, which tend to undermine these institutions.

is out, however, the Key Club year has only just begun! We’re a month in already (time flies, wow) and hopefully your new officers are settling into their rules for the upcoming year. We’re a brand new division, but we’re got the passion for service that overcomes all obstacles in the pursuit of excellence. To achieve success, our division needs to be in constant contact with each other as well as with other members of the K-Fam. It’s a great time to plan socials-especially interclub socials. Yes people will be going out of town, but people generally have more time during these next three month and anything can happen if you try! The Cy-Fair Kiwanis club meets the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Tuesday at 12:15 pm at the Hearthstone Country Club. If you e-mail George Crowl in advance and bring $12 for lunch, you can have the amazing opportunity to hang out with the people to help make our Key Clubs a reality. We’re usually unable to attend these meeting because of school, so I highly encourage you guys to take advantage of this and get to know your Kiwanians! Yours in Service, Rachel Iselin ♥♥♥

We’re lucky that we’re a part of an International Family. Plan interclub socials and events to connect with other Key Clubbers! You won’t be disappointed by the experience!
Governor’s Project Children’s Miracle Network helps to provide donations that go to support research and training, purchasing equipment, and helping to pay for uncompensated care to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Every year, the District Governor chooses a project to unite the Texas-Oklahoma District. By choosing this as her project, she is pledging to personally promote and support this organization for the duration of her term.
Project Ideas Arts and Crafts Drive – Help kids find their inner artist by stocking art closets throughout the hospital with fuse beads, paints, paint brushes, drawing pads, glitter, scissors and everything our little artists will need. For a complete list of needed arts and crafts items, please visit www.childrens.com, click on “Giving to Children’s,” then click “Get Involved” and select “Give Toys.”
Birthday in a Box – Many patients spend their birthdays in the hospital due to an unexpected visit. Give a child a great birthday to remember by donating a ‘Birthday in a box.’ We’ll provide a complete list of items that need to be included if this is an area of interest.
Clothing Drive – Sometimes a family arrives totally unprepared for a long stay. Social Work frequently receives requests from the ER for cozy clothes including athletic pants, t-shirts and ‘hoodies’ as well as practical items like socks and underwear. From newborn to Adult XXL, a range of sizes is always needed.
Busy Books for Kids – For a little patient in a waiting room, boredom can set in quickly. Assemble a “Busy Book” to entertain them as they wait. Use ribbon, yarn or staples to secure several coloring pages, mazes and/or word games into a small packet. Don’t forget to include a colorful cover page (perhaps decorated) and 3-4 crayons per packet.
Busy Books for Adults – Parents get bored too! Help them pass the time by providing a few pages of Sudoku, word finds and puzzles stapled in a packet. Don’t forget to attach a pen or pencil!

“With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliminate MNT from the Earth, more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take US$110 million — and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family.” http://sites.kiwanis.org/Kiwanis/en/theELIMINATEproject/home.aspx
What is the Youth
The Basics you
Opportunity Fund? need to know: The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund for Key Club International held within the Kiwanis International Foundation. This fund uses earned interest to help Key Clubs and Key Club members serve the world by providing grants for service opportunities. The fund also provides academic scholarships for higher education. The Youth Opportunities Fund is established through a portion of your Key Club International dues and through the purchase of G. Harold Martin Fellowships.

YOF grants are given only to Key Clubs and/or club members. Clubs may request funding assistance ranging anywhere from US$100 to US$2,000. The committee typically funds those clubs who are asking for a portion of the total cost of the project, and clubs who are working with other organizations to fund and complete the project. Guidelines for filing the application are also listed in the Key Club Guidebook under Board Policies. Visit keyclub.org for more info!
