"You Can Play" - Ranked as a must play by Golf Digest, Golfweek and

A Challenge Only Nature Can Create

If you haven't heard of Battlement Mesa Golf Club, we understand. Western Colorado isn't exactly known for the all-inclusive frills that draw destination course crowds. But, what we have to offer in a golf vacation...is golf. Golf architected by rushing waters dutifully carving apart plateaus for millennia. Golf that challenges by honoring what was here, elevations, approaches, and penalties predetermined by nature.

There's nothing like a mountain layout. The diverse topography, the ever-changing elevations and the 360-de-

gree views will quickly convince you that a few layouts stack up to Battlement Mesa Golf Club.

At Battlement Mesa Golf Club, we offer affordable golf and a welcoming atmosphere. What's more, we're an easy drive from Denver - and once you're here, you'll discover a peaceful town. The commute back to city life will be tougher than any drive you face on our challenging golf course!

Battlement Mesa Golf Club opened in 1987 and has been ranked as one of the 'Best Courses in America You

Can Play" by Golf Digest. The routing takes full advantage of our one-of-a-kind setting, a high plains plateau overlooking the Colorado River. It's an area where Teddy Roosevelt once hunted and where a wild west gang pulled off a famous train robbery.

Today, the primary pursuit in town is golf on our 18hole championship course.

Copper Mountain’s Copper Creek Golf Course Returns to Full 18-Hole Course

North America’s Highest Elevated Golf Course Reopens Redesigned Back 9, Offering Unparalleled Alpine Golfing Experience

Copper Mountain Resort recently announced the grand reopening of its full 18hole Copper Creek Golf Course, marking a significant milestone in the resort’s commitment to providing world-class recreational experiences. The new holes officially opened to the public on August 9, 2024, the course’s completion comes after an extensive redesign project focusing on four key holes of the back 9.

The redesign, spearheaded by the renowned Dye Designs Group and golf course architects Cynthia Dye McGarey, ASGCA, and Matt McGarey, centered on Holes 12, 13, 14, 15, and the tees on Hole 16. This strategic renovation has elevated the golfing experience while preserving the course’s unique highalpine character. Before this reopening, guests could play the front 9, repeating 9 holes twice, or enjoying a 14-hole experience due to ongoing construction and redevelopment efforts.

Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains at an impressive elevation of 9,863 feet, Copper Creek Golf Course boasts breathtaking views of the Ten Mile Range. The course’s high-alpine environment provides golfers with a unique opportunity to enjoy pristine mountain air and Colorado sunshine while challenging their skills on a high-class course.

“The reopening of our full 18-hole course is a game-changer for Copper Creek,” said Zach Dobrota, Copper’s golf

professional. “Golfers can once again experience the complete vision of the Pete and Perry Dye design, enhanced by the recent renovations. The redesigned holes offer new challenges and spectacular views that truly set Copper Creek apart as a premier highaltitude golfing destination.”

The redesign of Copper Creek’s back 9 presented both challenges and opportunities. The goal was to enhance the playing experience while respecting the natural beauty and elevation of this extraordinary

location. During the redesign process, the team drew inspiration from the surrounding Rocky Mountains, incorporating elements that reflect the rugged terrain and majestic vistas into the new holes. The result is a harmonious blend of challenging golf and stunning alpine landscapes that seamlessly integrate with the natural environment. This reopening represents more than just additional holes. It’s about offering a complete, world-class golfing experience that complements Copper Mountain’s winter offerings and solidifies its status as a true year-round resort. The Copper Creek Golf Course reopening is part of Copper Mountain Resort’s ongoing commitment to enhancing guest experiences and maintaining its position as a leading destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Golf Season Passes with cart access for both adults and kids are still available for purchase with a 7-day booking pass option and a one-day advance booking pass option. Benefits also include improved playability on holes #5 and #6 on the Par 3 and the installation of the con span bridge at hole #5 allows for heavy equipment access to both golf courses.

Golf Through the Generations: All Ages Like Golf Course Living

Popularity in the game of golf has seen both rises and falls in the past two decades. Specifically in Colorado, popularity has ebbed and flowed due to factors such as the myriad of other outdoor activities available to those who want to stay active, the cost to play, and winter weather restrictions here – after all, golf is a little harder to play when there is snow on the course. But golf has grown in popularity in the last 4 years, especially amongst younger players. Colorado is home to some of the country's most sought-after courses and golf course communities offering city and mountain courses for some epic backdrops during the game. In fact, younger players are now also seeking to live on a golf course.

Golf Course Popularity Surges

Organizations, such as the National Golf Foundation, record specific metrics like average rounds played yearly and the active number of golfers across the country. This research, featured in a 2024 article in 5280 Magazine, mentioned that golf had lost some popularity between 2007 and 2019; specifically starting around the 2008 Recession. However, golf saw a resurgence in 2021, around the time of the pandemic, mainly because players could participate and get outside while still maintaining social distancing. And it’s not just retirees

have that in droves. This means that young families who don’t even have a penchant for playing golf are attracted to golf course communities because they check the boxes on many items on their wishlist, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal. After all, golf course communities often offer social events, hiking and biking trails nearby, pools, and many other attractive perks.

who are interested in playing golf, but younger players too. It is assumed that the average age of a golfer is around 54, but the largest growing age bracket for new players is 30-39 years old, according to a 2022 article in Golf Digest. Many golf courses now feature amenities that appeal to younger audiences like the ability to use video imaging to work on a golf swing, fine dining, and craft beers.

What attracts younger families to golf course living?

Not only are more people playing golf regularly, but now families are seeking out golf course community homes to live in. Those especially with young children, are looking for family-friendly neighborhoods that are safe and have activities to offer and golf course communities

Sometimes golf is wrongly stereotyped as a sport for an older, rich crowd, but golf is for all skill levels, demographics and generations alike. It’s a sport that fosters socializing, spending time outside and working towards a skill, so everyone can enjoy it. For golf course living, retirees enjoy the leisurely paces, well-maintained grounds, and ability to play golf whenever they want. While young families enjoy the endless options for fun activities just outside their door. Golf course communities offer the types of amenities that many home buyers look for so it's no wonder that all age groups and walks of life can find something to appreciate about golf course living.

Empower Women to Move Through Life with Ease, Confidence & Style Feature

any other engagement. Introducing Ellie Arbee, where they craft more than just apparel – they create a new paradigm of fashion that meets the diverse demands of today's active, professional, dynamic woman.

Ellie Arbee Journey

In early 2022, founder Natalie West found herself on a work trip at the prestigious Harding Park Golf Club in San Francisco, caught off guard by the Bay Area's notoriously fickle weather. Having packed only warm weather golf attire, she was woefully unprepared for the chilly gusts sweeping across the course. Faced with the dilemma of golfing in the cold, West made a bold decision. She cobbled together an unusual ensemble from her suitcase: cream and white checkered trousers, a matching belt, a mock turtleneck, and swapped her typical golf cap for a dapper newsboy hat. While a stark departure from conventional golf attire, it provided warmth and something completely unexpected - style she’d never experienced on the fairway. Despite drawing curious glances and raised eyebrows, West felt elegant and self-assured. The attention drawn by her unconventional outfit seemed less like judgment and more like admiration for her bold and stylish look. With each swing, thoughts bubbled up: Women are not just one thing, so why is our clothing single-purposed?

As West contemplated her newfound freedom to don elegant, timeless attire regardless

of the occasion, she realized women's fashion, it seemed, was expected to maintain separate wardrobes for work and play. This revelation ignited West's resolve to transform women's wear, seamlessly blending all-day comfort, performance, luxury, and craftsmanship into every garment.

Versatility in Action

Fast forward to February 2024, the Essen-

tials collection debuts with a bang, featuring tailored tops, dresses, and jumpsuits designed with functionality in signature patch pockets, mandarin collars, and tear drop armholes. Each garment was thoughtfully crafted, with every stitch serving a purpose—from accentuating natural curves to elegantly framing the face. These aren't your grandma's golf clothes –they're pieces that transition from the 18th green to cocktail hour without missing a beat.

ciple for every piece, their clothing isn't exclusively for golfers. While Ellie Arbee styles are coined "course ready", they are designed to be activity ready. Pickleball? Check. Tennis? Yes ma’am. Cocktails? Absolutely. It's like having a magic wardrobe that whisks you from fairway to soirée.

Customers rave about the craftsmanship, the softness of the textiles, and the infinite versatility of the styles. One satisfied customer exclaimed, "The last time I wore something this well made was my wedding dress." Another shared, "I'm a convert to the bodysuit. I love golfing in it. It stays tucked in and the compression fabric makes me feel so confident."

As if these Essentials weren't fabulous enough, Ellie Arbee is expanding beyond its core pieces. Come September, prepare for outerwear that'll make you wish for the fall chill in the air – we're talking luxe long vests, cozy winter sweaters, and a "stretch cropped surprise" that is stylishly intriguing. Long-sleeved bodysuits, luxurious bottoms, and even a ladies' glove collection are on the horizon.

Sustainability & Local Commitment

Ellie Arbee cares for Mother Earth (she's the ultimate style icon, after all). With 30% sustainable textiles and plans to increase that faster than you can say "eco-chic," it's fashion with a conscience. Manufacturing original styles in the US keeps that carbon footprint daintier than a kitten heel, and Ellie Arbee is exploring ways to give worn clothing and fabric remnants a second life. It's all part of encouraging a capsule wardrobe lifestyle –because quality never goes out of style.

West is focusing the company's efforts in her native Centennial State, adding her courseready flair to more public and private clubs, boutiques and larger retailers across Colorado. Amidst the growth, Ellie Arbee keeps it personal. Private fittings (yes, private fittings!), golf-themed soirées, and fun-filled trunk shows remain at the heart of the brand. It's like having a fashionable fairy godmother who also happens to know her way around a golf course.

"The goal at Ellie Arbee is to empower women to move through life with ease, confidence, and style, whatever their day may bring," says West. "This isn’t just about clothes, it’s about how you feel in them, about how you move through the world. Regardless of what you are doing, it’s much easier to have courage, confidence, and class when you’re dressed for the part.”

What Your Golf Pro Isn't Telling You

We at Golf Fitness Guys are always seeking to provide our clients, you the public, and anyone involved in the golf industry, the truth about golf fitness and its utter importance to the success to any golfer at any level.

We understand that sometimes the truth hurts, but just know that despite the “sting” associated with the truth sometimes, you are always better after learning of it in any aspect of life, and golf is no different! That said, we start with…

We want to put you on a somewhat equal playing field. When a golf instructor tries to get your tight, immovable body to move where they “think it should go”… sometimes it just comes down to the fact that your body can’t!

Here’s a description of how the body is designed to move and therefore how we should try to swing a golf club. The body is built of alternating layers of mobility and stability. Most pain and dysfunction begins when a mobile joint becomes tight or a stable joint becomes loose.

In other words, if all of your stable joints

game would be terrible. This leads me to claim that the body is most important club in the bag so this off season, start working on making it move better and your game will improve!

Assumption Number 2

Unlike what you see almost everyday in a golf magazine where someone is promoting one way to swing a club, there is No perfect golf swing! There is, however, an efficient golf swing for each person at is based on what they can do! IT IS NOT BASED OFF A TEACHERS

OPINION AS TO HOW YOU SWING THE CLUB! Everyone is different; therefore everyone will swing the club differently…always!

In the gym, we use physical tests to evaluate each one of these joints and come up with a model in our mind of your ideal golf swing. In this book, we are going to assume that you want to swing the club as efficient as possible, and that means respecting how the body could best swing the club.

Weak glutes can contribute to ANY of the mentioned swing faults. The pelvis is the center piece of the golf swing and the glutes are it’s biggest stabilizer AND rotators. When they don't do their job, a myriad of compensations can cause the body to do almost anything and take the club anywhere. The result, compensation in the way your body creates movement and thus your golf swing.

We understand there is a component of golf instruction involved in these faults, but we are bio-mechanical specialists and believe that if you have less compensation in your body, not only will you be able to learn the swing more efficiently, but that you will be able to consistently re-produce your swing, and when you can re-produce, you can play your best golf ever!
