During my studies in Belgrade, I got in touch with the world of 3d animations and visualisations which resulted in the idea to start building my 3d artist career. After realizing that area of 3d modeling is a good source of work and finances I started contacting with companies all around Europe offering my knowledge and experience. First experiences with a world of 3d visualisations and freelance work came during 2014 with my still active client Chinarcontracting based in Doha, Qatar. After my bachelor studies, I wanted to expand my network of contacts and that’s the reason why I applied for internships in studios in Berlin while I was still in my master studies during January 2016. The first offer I got was from studio Lavaland Gmbh based in Berlin, and finally, I came to Berlin during April 2016 in order to start my internship During my internship in Lavaland Gmbh, I also had an opportunity to cooperate with studio Treibhaus based both in Berlin and Hamburg. As an intern from Berlin, I worked successfully on three competitions with Treibhaus, one of them being competition for new Bundestag building atrium in Berlin.

MASTER THESIS PROJECT Pedestrian zone + square reconstruction Jagodina, Serbia 2016 Various facilities are arranged in different parts of the site and one of the ideas is the establishment of small squares - a meeting places in the area of the site in order to fully utilize the potential of space. Central point of these squares become newly designed pavilions. Space installation length of over 300m represents a new line landmark in the area and connects the central part of the square with the building of the railway station. In this installation, users can organize various activities and symbolism lies in the fact that the street in which is located the installation had a very important role in the development of the city. First part of the installation is designed as a playground. It contains a central installation for children playing activities and also swings combined with spaces for sitting. In second part of the installation gaming tables and benches were placed in order to arrange different spots for playing games that are popular among senior citizens (chess for example). Third part of installation was made for all citizens who practice outdoor sports. In addition to the benches bars for pullups and climbing were added as special future.

MASTER THESIS PROJECT Pedestrian zone + square reconstruction Jagodina, Serbia 2016 The idea behind the project of reconstruction of the city’s central Square and the surrounding area has a tendency to largely restore the old splendor of the location and that the introduction of new facilities achieves long-lost interactions between citizens. Spacious installation is a new line landmark in the area and connects the central part of the Square with the building of the railway station. In this installation, users can organize various activities and symbolism lies in the fact that the street in which is the installation had a very important role in the development of the city after the advent of the railway. In this regard, a new installation symbolizes a new beginning and a desire for change just like at a time when major changes such as the railways and new factories were current issue of the urban story.

FREIHAM LANDSCAPE PARK 50m
Landscape park - competition Munchen, Germany 2016 Freiham will be the last substantial development to take place in Munich. Located on the western outskirts of the city, this attractive new district will accommodate around 20,000 people by the year 2040. The idea behind the concept for Freiham landscape park is to create coherent and vibrant 65 hectares big open air space. The specificity of location lies in a fact that this is the place where Munchen outskirts meet surrounding landscape, consisted of fields, small hills, and communities, villages. Together with Lavaland and Treibhaus team members, I took a part in different phases of this project, starting with concept development and ending with visualizations and illustrations of our final outcome. The basis of our concept is promenade that goes parallel with the end of newly built Freiham neighborhood, a new home for 20.000 people. This promenade is offering different contents all the way, starting from sport, extreme sport, walking routes, gardens, and places for relaxation. The second big component of our future concept is topography that goes in and out, up and down, creating wavy megastructure in space. This slopes and hills are used as future noise protection barrier and also as walking tour experience for every future visitor of Freiham landscape park.

The development is named after the original Freiham Estate, a historic and contemporary icon of Bavarian life, which dates back to the 12th Century. In Freiham, ecological urban development will be reconciled with the contemporary demands of the city. Freiham will be composed of a number of neighbourhoods, each with their own distinctive atmosphere yet seamlessly integrated into the surrounding urban and natural structures. With two suburban train stations, several buses and a tram to the city center, the new district will be extremely well connected to Munich’s public transport network. Short distances and strong connections between living, working and leisure spaces will ensure a high standard of living for everyone. source : west8.com/freiham# 08

Landscape park - competition Munchen, Germany 2016 During our work on competition, my part of the task was to create the overall 3d model and afterward to create different smaller pieces of it in a more detailed manner. The idea behind circle shaped visualizations is to use them in a way as conceptual diagrams.

Highlights
The biggest intervention of future Freiham park location is topography structure that goes from the borders deep inside the residential neighborhood. Loops are widely knows as good solution to make people walking and exploring potentials of one place. The big green loop is our special gift to Freiham community. The best way to connect two big green spots is to make green fingers in between. These fingers are made as water channels together with the green belt around them.

BUNDESTAG ATRIUM Bundestag atrium garden - competition Berlin, Germany 2016 The main objective of the project task is to design atrium garden within the Bundestag building. The building is located in the central city area near the Branderburg gate and the National Bank of Germany, as well as a large number of embassies and foreign countries’ consulates. One of the requirements set by the developers is to respect the context of the place and combine the newly designed garden with the object facade ( concrete structures intersected by the glass surface). It is also necessary to organize the space so that users are provided with a place for a short break during a busy work day and to define the paths so the user’s movement can be carried on smoothly in lounge areas.

BUNDESTAG ATRIUM 5m
Bundestag atrium garden - competition Berlin, Germany 2016 The main idea of the project is the formation of several structures designed for rest and short break during one typical business day. Due to the minimalist approach to the design of the facade, the layout of the garden is fully implemented following the same principles. The horizontal lines intersecting the surface structure of space itself occasionally form places for sitting and conversation. The texture of the plants and their colors are in real contrast with the geometric shaped wooden benches and paths. The central motif of the composition is an area next to the building covered with glass instalation / sculpture. Benches are designed to support individual and group sitting, while the areas for smokers are placed in corners of the garden. Small amphitheter is connecting two levels upper and lower one. Organic structure of boxes filled with greenery and plants is in total contrast with rigid patter used as pavement.

MAGSTADT CITY CENTER Pedestrian zone - competition Magstadt, Germany 2016 Magstadt is a town in the German Federal state of Baden-Württemberg, in the district Böblingen. It is located between Renningen and Sindelfingen mostly surrounded by typical green landscape areas, consisted of fields and the lower hillsThe idea behind the competition was the creation of new city identity for a small municipality of Magstadt at the south west side of German state. The special character of the place was created centuries ago when the church of Johannes-Täufer was constructed. Propositions of the competition were made in order to force competitors to redesign Lower and Upper platz (Square) with specific connections defined as pedestrian street closed to traffic except for cases of emergency. Studio Lavaland in cooperation with studio Treibhaus proposed simple and efficient solution consisted of two multifunctional squares connected with a pedestrian zone that changes its functions depending on the time of year and conditions. The idea behind pavement design was to create the big stone carpet with elements that create different overall textures. Distances between bricks and elements are very wide when it comes to Lower and Upper platz, but in the central zone, these distances are even double time smaller. That in total gives the impression of dynamic linear composition that starts from the beginning of lower platz and ends on upper platz right next to the new city council house *Rathaus*.

Pedestrian zone - competition Magstadt, Germany 2016 The green structure proposed for new design solution is created in a way to clearly distinguish characters of two squares. Lower platz is covered with big crowned Acer trees that stand right next to the existing vegetation. Going from lower till the upper square, trees slowly disappear while on the upper platz there is completely open and clear square, full of sun and light. One of the important ideas of new concept development is to keep the existing fountain on the upper square. Second thing, when it comes to newly imported elements, is a newly designed fountain on the lower platz, that is connected with the upper one with linear horizontal water feature. Fountain and water follow newly designed pavement pattern while attracting people to join and play with water, especially on the lower platz. While parking places and cars stay during a week on the lower platz, during weekends, this place becomes a market place. This concept is widely supported and works as part of cultural and landscape architectural heritage all over Germany.

LEDNICE LAKE Coast reconstruction - student competition Lednice, Czech Republic 2014 The Lednicko-Valtickyý Cultural Landscape measures 300km2, making it the largest manmade landscape in the world. This unique place was created in harmony with nature by the Liechtenstein aristocratic family over the course of a whole century. Thanks to its flatness, the entire area is ideal for bike rides. Following kilometers of perfectly marked cycle routes, you can take in majestic chateaux, well-maintained parks, colorful flowerbeds, romantic spots on the River Dyje, the glittering surfaces of fishponds covered in water-lilies, fertile vineyards and romantic buildings of all styles in a sun-drenched landscape. In all, there are over 90km of marked routes, with some crossing the border into Austria.

Coast reconstruction - student competition Lednice, Czech Republic 2014 +218.50 Work on the project is divided into two phases. In the first phase, teams are asked to analyze the whole area, especially fishponds near the town of Lednice. After the separation of positive and negative circumstances, it is necessary to propose new routes of movement through the space intended for both tourists and locals. In the final phase, it is necessary to analyze only one route. The problem that has been noted during the site visit is such that it is simply impossible to get to the water itself because of the cane that dominates the coast. That is why the “Bird Tour” visitors are allowed access to the number of various bird species at the site and the final approach leads to a part of the location.

I gave my contribution to the design of the platform for bird watching. It is the concept defined so that it justifies the name “back on track “, since the creation of such a linear structure finally gives visitors a chance to get near the water and enjoy the beauty and vista. Completion of the platform allows visitors to use the telescope, binoculars and enjoy the beautiful view of the Lednice pond.

Freelance works
FREELANCE 3d presentations - freelance cooperation Freiburg, Germany 2014 As an apprentice, I had an opportunity to spend two months at Stötzer Landschaftsarchitekten studio based in Freiburg – Germany. Among many tasks I had, the most interesting ones were about the creation of visualizations for the future garden show in Eppingen 2017. After successful cooperation, I continued to participate in studios work, so I was engaged as a freelance designer in order to create when creating visualizations for competition - The reconstruction of the city square in Wolfenbüttel. During my engagement in work of Lavaland GmbH in Berlin, I was making visualization for their business partner - Studio Treibhaus, based both in Berlin and Hamburg. The idea behind the competition was a creation of new atrium garden for Deutsches Bundestag. Starting from basic SketchUp model, with specific collage technic I made the fotorealistic expression of our idea. According to the client’s request, I made a complete design for 33 small gardens placed next to the 33 typical villas at future settlement in Doha - Qatar. As a Freelance designer, I had the opportunity to work with Chinar – studio based in Doha, and my solution was made by instructions and site photos given from client. One among other tasks was to create a 3d model of the whole area at first and rendered plans of complete settlement as well as detailed, water color style, perspective views.

BLOCK 33 10m
Residential complex - student project Belgrade, Serbia 2013 Part of Block 33, which is the subject of this project is located in New Belgrade, part of the city built during the golden sixtees. The area is located in the northern corner of the block 33 that consists of four residential buildings-sections that make up a mostly closed-block structure. Open space is surrounded by streets, access roads and parking lots. Whole block and its open areas are built on the principles of social-realist modernism during the second half of the 20th century, the former state - Yugoslavia. Architecture, materials and design principles of facilities testify to the epoch of socialism in EX Yugoslavia. An interesting site is reflected in the close presence of Genex Tower, better known as the Western Gate of Belgrade.

BLOCK 33 Residential complex - student project Belgrade, Serbia 2013
The leading idea is to connect opposite ends of the plot and create a dominant diagonal route in the area that will have a symbolic significance and provide the fastest and most efficient user’s movement through space . Further definition of design manifests in two large units deployed along the transport diagonal . Units are formally and functionally different and properly explain the emerging concept of ‘’(re)action’’. By moving through diagonal walkers explore areas for relaxation ( reaction) In contrast with the reaction, two entities symbolically named „action“ are created, because in this part of the site users can use the skate park but also basketball and volleyball courts. Once the layout is created, greenery frames the whole structure , leaving space for paths that will navigate users through the entire site. Near the very entrance of the homes are smaller pockets that with additional benches and tables that follow the edge of the previously created green frame . The goal of creating this space is to encourage neighbours’ interaction and socialization in general. The map shows the so-called points of suprise - areas where shady and quiet space (reaction) meets the central zone, full of effects, colours and sport facilites for residents to enjoy.

About concept The project concept was developed in several phases. In the first phase a transit diagonal that is dominating the space and connecting the opposite ends of the site was created. In subsequent stages of concept development a zone of action and reaction and green frame were designed. Green frame filled with different types of seasonal and aromatic herbs also contains deciduous and coniferous tree species. In the last phase urban pockets and surprise points were created in order to complete the whole process in the end. Djordje Ilic - landscape architect
