With a continuing shift to urban living, cities across the world are facing much greater social, economic and environmental pressures. People now have more reasons to migrate to urban areas from employment to experiencing the vibrancy and culture of cities. This requires a new need for identity in cities, which is why local community input is becoming more important in the planning and design process in order to encourage healthy lifestyles and social interaction.
