glitter is put into the bandage during the manufacturing process. So, it is actually woven throughout the bandage and not just on the top layer. Therefore, it doesn't really come off. It may come off at the ends if you rip the bandage but it would only be the few that are loose. What we recommend is to cut off the bandage after you use it. If someone tried to unwrap the bandage, the glitter may also come off a little because of the cohesive nature. The glitter is not harmful any way to the animals. It is a plastic base instead of metal so there is no extra harm. If the animal eats the bandage, they will just digest it like any other part.”
