WHY INCORPORATING IT IN YOUR CLINIC?
Why is it effective? SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCES… BEYOND THE ATP
The MLS® impulse modulates cellular metabolism and improves the supply of energy The increase of PP1 (Protein phosphatase 1) created by the therapeutic process, regulates the muscle relaxation / contraction process It stimulates also the accumulation of glycogen supplies (energy source needed for muscular activity)
Why is it effective? SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCES… BEYOND THE ATP
The thermal effects of MLS® Laser Therapy generate indirect photomechanical effects They mechanically stress the cells. This kind of stress favors tropism, homeostasis and cell differentiation It favors the recovery of damaged tissue The MLS® impulse produces measured thermal effects and always remains under the danger threshold It stimulates biochemical reactions and vasodilatation It increases the ratio of oxygen and nutrients in the treated area Moderate vasodilatation favors inflammatory process recovery and oedema reabsorption
Why is it effective? SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCES… BEYOND THE ATP Proteomic studies conducted on muscle cells (myoblasts) have shown that MLS® treatment induces an increase of anti-inflammatory protein NLRP 10 NLPR 10 inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory interleukins IL-1β and IL-18, reducing inflammation The decrease of inflammation leads to a normalization of vascular function and thus a decrease of edema The reduction of inflammatory mediators and edema implies a reduction of pain symptoms

Jacinto, White Swiss Shepherd Dog with left elbow fracture Courtesy of Dr. テ]gela Romano - "Laser Pets" - Bogotテ。, Colombia Species: dog Breed: White Swiss Shepherd Dog Gender: male Age: 1 YO Name: Jacinto Clinical case: Jacinto had a Salter-Harris fracture to the left elbow. He had orthopaedic surgery and a screw was used to reduce the fracture. The fracture did not heal and Jacinto had lameness, edema and muscular hypotrophy. X-ray shows arthrosis and sclerosis of the radius proximal line of growth. A multivitamin, mineral and joint supplement has been recommended. Therapy: As two months later the fracture did not heal, Jacinto began MLS ツョ Laser Therapy sessions. The whole left forelimb was treated, especially the elbow joint. For the first two sessions has been used the Edema program. Later were used Pain (chronic) and Inflammation (chronic) programs twice a week. Jacinto had 8 more applications two times a week, alternating Inflammation (acute), 18 Hz and, Sprain/Strain, 1168 Hz, programs in each session.
Which are the results? CLINICAL CASES SELECTION Zeppelin, Jack Russell Terrier with bite injuries Courtesy of Anita Jansen, Physiotherapist for dogs - “Hund i Form” - Sola (Rogaland), Norway Species: Dog Breed: Jack Russel Terrier Gender: Male Age: 7 YO Name: Zeppelin Clinical case: During a walk, Zeppelin was attacked by a big size dog and was bitten in the neck, abdomen and left hind leg. He had three injuries to the abdomen, one was very close to the urethra, and two in the neck and lumbar area. Zeppelin had surgery in the night to suture abdominal wounds. He was sutured in the neck and lower back region, too. Two days after the attack, began to appear the first bruises on Zeppelin’s abdomen. Because of the very strong inflammation and infection, the value of the CRP exceeded 250 (normally is less than 35). Therapy: In addition to surgery, Zeppelin received immediately after the attack antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Two days after surgery he had the first sessions MLS® Laser Therapy. The protocols adopted were “infected wound" and then "wound." Zeppelin had 4 sessions of MLS® Laser Therapy: the first two every three days, the others once a week until complete healing, which occurred 3 weeks after surgery. 36 hours after the first treatment, bruises begin to decrease and the fever disappears After the second session of MLS® Laser Therapy: the wounds are completely closed. 3 weeks after surgery, bruises have disappeared, and he is beginning again to extend the hind legs when resting. Zeppelin participated in Rally-Obedience competition 6 weeks after the attack, and won Class 3!
