Welcome Change is the only constant in life – this proverb from ancient Greek philosophy couldn’t be more true in our world of today. Over the last twenty something years, we have adapted to a whole lot of change. Digitalization and globalization have severely transformed and disrupted our world – be it in business, our private life, in politics, science, or art. We work differently, we communicate differently, we learn differently, we shop differently, we build relationships differently, and so forth. While DLD has followed these developments for ten years now, DLDwomen has looked at them from a female perspective. However, I firmly believe that the speed of change is going to accelerate even more. Big data, artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things are some of the buzzwords that are all around us. No matter how open-minded and adaptable we believe we are, we are constantly at least one step behind technology. It is important that we do not lag behind even more. Only if we understand – at least a little – what’s behind the buzz, we can prepare ourselves for the future.

DLDwomen is a 2 day conference traditionally held in summer

Fa c t b o o k

DLDwomen14 was an attempt to tackle this issue. With our theme “Relevance!” we addressed a key factor for dealing with change. Identifying a skill, a gadget or even a line of thought as relevant to us, is the first step to adopting it. This was the idea behind the workshops we offered for the first time at DLDwomen – to sustainably enrich our program of inspirational fireside chats and panel discussions with interactive deep dives designed by leading experts in their fields. They shared their expert knowledge – from coding and encryption through entrepreneurship and brand building to augmented reality and mobility – with participants. I want to thank everybody for their fantastic contributions and invite you to prepare for the future with us!

Hosted by Steffi Czerny Steffi Czerny, DLD Co-Founder and CEO

DLD 2014

DLD NYC

Munich, January 19 - 21, 2014 Content & Context Ten years young! 1191 guests, 170 speakers and 212 journalists joined the world’s smartest gathering of thinkers and creators from around the globe in Munich January 19-21, 2014. The goal: exploring the new waves of change driven by digitalization, ubiquitous connectivity and disruptive technologies that reshape our world. DLD14 was a unique opportunity to join and engage in truly global conversations, make connections that matter, create new business and get inspired.

New York, April 30 - May 01, 2014 “WOW!” That was the reaction to our very-first DLD conference in New York City. Held in Frank Gehry’s design-oriented IAC building the event gathered a staggering number of 1000 people. From industry leaders to startups, guests came from Europe, Israel and the US. A Bavarian party that took place at The Standard High Line hotel, was the perfect addition to this wonderful event: The beer garden atmosphere showed the roots of DLD, and gave everyone the opportunity to casually network over a nice cold Bavarian beer. Prost!
