Debbi Erwin PICTURE PERFECT IN LAKE LAS VEGAS This month, we catch up with photographer and new Lake Las Vegas resident Debbi Erwin What drew you to Lake Las Vegas? Before we purchased out here, my family and I always booked our staycations in Lake Las Vegas. We’re from San Diego and to us, this is like living on the beach. The active lifestyle, being this close to the water and meeting neighbors with similar interests like boating really drew us in. There is a small-town community feel here, and that’s hard to find. Why did you become a photographer? About two years ago, I was on the verge of becoming an empty nester and trying to figure out the next chapter of life. I went on a meditation walk and saw a hummingbird sitting way out on a limb. I took it as a sign to go out on a limb and try something new. I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. It is so rewarding to help people realize how beautiful they are and to create memories that will last a lifetime!

What are your favorite places to photograph in Lake Las Vegas? There are so many beautiful settings to take pictures in Lake Las Vegas, but a few of my favorites are the waterfall by The Hilton, the sandy beach right outside of The Village and anywhere I can get a full lake view. What photography tips do you have for residents? One of Lake Las Vegas’ hidden gems is the second sunset that you can catch off the water. It creates a gorgeous purple and pink tinted background and makes for the best backdrop. How can residents book a photography session with you? I offer sessions for portrait photography, including family, graduation, elopement, engagement sessions and more. Sessions can be booked through my Instagram @debbierwinphotography.
