Your Las Vegas Golf Destination

PGA TOUR VETERAN

Craig Barlow Joins Reflection Bay Golf Club Junior and amateur golfers have the opportunity to

learn the art of the game firsthand from former professional golfer Craig Barlow, who recently joined Reflection Bay Golf Club as its director of instruction. Barlow, who has competed in eight major tournaments including the British Open, will spend the next chapter of his life providing insight and instruction to the future generation of golfers. Eric Dutt, golf operations manager at Reflection Bay, says Barlow will provide instruction ranging from individual lessons to golf schools and group clinics at the Falls Practice Facility. “Because of the knowledge [Craig] acquired throughout his career, he can help golfers from the basic standpoint all the way to what it takes for a tour player to be successful,” says Dutt. “His knowledge has come from watching and playing with the best players in the world, not from reading a book.” Craig Barlow is no stranger to Reflection Bay and has been an avid player on the course. “I’m biased, but it’s the best course in Las Vegas,” says Barlow. “Golf in Las Vegas is actually a pretty popular destination: A lot of tour players are moving to Las Vegas. There’s a big tax advantage to being here. We don’t have state tax here. We probably have between 20 and 30 tour players that have an affiliation in Las Vegas.” Barlow says he has big plans for Reflection Bay Golf Club, including bringing a junior golf academy to Lake Las Vegas. “There are no junior golf academies on the West Coast,” says Barlow. “This is home to me. When I was on tour I represented Lake Las Vegas, so it’s ironic that my playing career is over, and I am teaching at Lake Las Vegas. It’s a perfect world.”

BUSINESS OWNERS SETTLE IN AT LAGO VISTA – By Stacy D’Alessandro

When Jack Ball left Arizona and moved

to Las Vegas in 1995 to open his window fashions business, his flight over the city landed him a preview of the development he and his wife Patti would one day call home.More than 20 years later, Jack and Patti Ball are celebrating their long-awaited move to Lake Las Vegas and are settling into William Lyon’s Lago Vista community. “We always wanted to live in Lake Las Vegas,” said Ball, who has followed the growth of the community over the years. “Being boaters and people who love the water, we had this area on our radar to watch. We thought it would be an amazing place to live one day.”

“The furniture is mostly contemporary with some traditional elements included,” says Aubuchon. “For example, we’re thinking of adding a big chandelier over the piano. We’ll have accent walls and maybe some wallpaper. The artwork will be big and bold.” The home was built with several upgrades and features that appealed to the Balls. Highlights include the flooring throughout the home, which is a dark brown and cream-colored mix that looks like wood but is porcelain tile. Additionally, the great room’s fireplace has travertine tile all the way to the ceiling, and its gliding glass

As the owner of Cover It Window Fashions, Ball has more opportunities than the average home shopper to visit new home communities. His business of outfitting windows with the latest technology in screens, shutters and custom blinds takes him to new communities regularly, and he says nothing compares to Lago Vista in Lake Las Vegas. When completed, the gated community of Lago Vista will feature 52 contemporary designed homes situated near Reflection Bay Golf Club and Montelago Village. Residents have their own private beach cove with access to all the amenities of the lake and steps away from the world class Reflection Bay Golf Course. Lago Vista offers 4 distinct contemporary plans from 3,733 square foot single story home to 5,032 square foot two story. From Lake side homesites to Golf course views, Lago Vista offers it all. Prices start in the high 700’s. The Balls and their 9-year-old Australian Shepherd, Rain, live in a 4,300 square-foot, two-story home with four bedrooms and four and half baths. The interior is being completed by designer Perry Aubuchon, who says the décor will reflect an eclectic contemporary style.

floor and through both sets of the gliding glass pocket doors in the great room. The gliding doors in the great room are outfitted with Cover Its Hunter Douglas Designer Screen shades with PowerView® motorization that are programmed to open and close at various times of the day. The master bedroom boasts a large master bath with a his-and-her vanity separated by a walk-in bathtub. The large shower features dual shower heads and a rain shower. Each bedroom in the home includes a balcony with views of the golf course. The bedrooms at the back of the house showcase views of Reflection Bay Golf Club and the lake. “I want to be out on the lake paddle boarding,” said Patti, who grew up in Iowa and met Jack when they worked at the same printing company in Phoenix. After moving from Phoenix to Las Vegas, the duo spent a lot of time working, collecting cars and traveling.

pocket doors on the backyard and courtyard sides fully recess into the wall. “We especially enjoy the spaciousness and openness of the house,” said Patti Ball. “There is no wasted space. There is a large great room, master bedroom and a kitchen with exotic granite and quartz throughout.” A standout feature is the pool that will wrap around the great room when it is completed in October. Onlookers will be able to view the pool from the home’s main entryway, the guest room on the first

The Balls have travelled to more than 20 locations around the world including St. Petersburg, Russia; Buenos Aires, Argentina and throughout Italy. Their passion for cars is Italian in nature—favoring the Ferraris and Maseratis—but they are also loyal Cadillac fans. Giving back to the community is high on the Balls’ list of priorities. They attend The Church at South Las Vegas and are avid supporters of Grant a Gift for Autism and Destiny House, a home that offers shelter for women trying to escape the sex-worker industry and re-establish their lives. The Balls provides window coverings for each organization’s facility.

LAKE LAS VEGAS SPORTS CLUB

LANDS AN ACE WITH DANN BATTISTONE – By Stacy D’Alessandro

The Lake Las Vegas Sports Club has

made its mark at the master-planned community of Lake Las Vegas as an exclusive club with world-class amenities. Since opening in January 2017, the club has grown to include more than 1,000 members, and support for the club is not slowing down. If you ask the club’s general manager, Dann Battistone, he would tell you it’s a place where the community can get to know each other and become friends. In fact, Battistone, a former professional tennis player who ranked in the top 100s in the world in doubles, said his goal is to get to know each club member by their first name. We caught up with him to learn a little more about his background and the sports club.

Tell us about your background. The sports club opened in January 2017 and I was hired in November 2016. I have a background in both sports and fitness, and financial services, so my work experience aligned well with what the club needed. I am a former professional tennis player that was ranked in the top 100s in the world in doubles. Tennis is my passion. I have a vision for making the Sports Club a place where both recreational members and top professionals can enjoy our facility. We hold weekly tennis clinics that are available to our members and their guests. In my tennis travels around the world, I have been to hundreds of clubs. (My father also owned a tennis club in Santa Barbara. I grew up with that dream of maybe one day owning or running a club of my own. This dream has essentially come true!) Although I am not involved in the actual ownership of the club, each day I have the opportunity to work with the members in making the club a wonderful place to be. What type of amenities are available as a member of the club? The club offers over 50 fitness classes per week, two pools, a hot tub, a state-of-the-art fitness center, steam rooms, a game room with pinball, a pool table, air hockey, shuffleboard, and more. We also have six pickleball courts and four tennis courts which complement the beautiful greens and fairways that sit directly behind the club. I don’t know of another club that has so many different activities and classes that you can participate in. Pickleball? Pickleball has also become a fast growing sport that our members have embraced. We have had several successful tournaments since the Sports Club opened, the largest of which had approximately 200 entries Two of our members, Deb Dempsey and Angela Rozovics, were chosen as Pickleball Ambassadors in the Las Vegas area. Every Wednesday and Saturday evening you will see our courts full of players anxious to challenge each other to a game.

What are some of the activities on the lake? The 320-acre lake is a wonderful amenity for home owners and Sports Club members alike. Sports Club members have private beach access where they can take kayaks, canoes or paddle boards out onto the water for a peaceful ride around the lake. What are some fun things for families to do at the club? The classes are one of the main attractions for families. My daughters love the dance classes. There’s something different every day of the week with 50-plus classes for all ages. There are very few times throughout the week where you will not find something happening. Whether it’s kids in the pool, a family get-together at the game room, or sitting with siblings at the fire pits overlooking the golf course, there is always something to do. What do you enjoy most about managing the club? I have truly enjoyed getting to know the people that represent Lake Las Vegas. The club members come from all over the world, bringing with them their specific talents, interests and charisma. Our staff members have also done a phenomenal job at bringing the Sports Club community together, and I have enjoyed seeing relationships being built over this last year and a half. It’s not often that you get to do the things you really love to do. I work in a beautiful place with great people, and while I spend a lot of my time on the administrative and leadership side, I still get to spend several days a week teaching tennis and pickleball lessons and clinics. It has been a great fit for me. I often think about the days when my kids are grown it is just my wife and me. We could live in Lake Las Vegas, buy a golf cart and never have to leave! It is such

a great community with lots to do while still being so quiet and peaceful. What is something that members might not know about the club? One of the best kept secrets in Lake Las Vegas is the view from our back patio at dusk. If you come on a cool fall or winter evening, you can enjoy the spectacular view while warming up next to the outdoor fireplace. Turn on the music softly, take a seat and enjoy one of our best kept secrets! Are there any events or tournaments coming up? We have the Nevada Senior Games Pickleball tournament in early October. And we’re excited for our second annual Sports Club pool party in September. For women in the community, there’s also monthly get together at the Sports Club called the Ciao Bella luncheon. It is a potluck luncheon held the second Monday of every month and typically includes guest speakers and presenters on a variety of topics. What has the UNLV Sports Science Center brought to the club? The UNLV Sports Science Center has added a new level of professionalism to our programming. UNLV has brought state-of-the-art equipment here that members can use for fitness assessments, such as evaluating body fat percentages, visceral levels, etc. The Sports Science center is also used for research, studies, and guest presentations from fitness and science-based industry experts.

What do you hope to see at the club in the future? I hope to see a thriving tennis and golf academy here at the Sports Club. We have the facilities and space to rival any other sports academy. In the near future, families who have a passion for golf and tennis will be moving to Lake Las Vegas because it gives their kids the best opportunities for golf and tennis training found anywhere.

MEET TWO TRUE FIRST RESPONDERS

LAS VEGAS METRO POLICE K9 OFFICERS SEAN MALIA & BEAR – By Andy Gil

Lake Las Vegas’ own Andy Gil was invited to

ride along with Las Vegas Metro K9 Officer Sean Malia and his K9 partner, Bear, where he witnessed an evening on Vegas’ streets and learned more about these amazing two- and four-legged first responders.  What brought you to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department from California? And did you ever see yourself working with K9 and now SWAT? My uncle was a retired police officer living here in Las Vegas and told me great things about LVMPD 20 years ago. Working in K9 and assisting the SWAT team is a privilege, and was always a goal of mine.

career, and Friends allows for that same care to continue helping with all of their medical needs once they retire. It is a passion of mine to ensure these dogs get to enjoy the retirement they deserve. Tell me all about the Las Vegas Metro K9 Trials. How did it start? It looks like it’s been growing every year. (And congrats on your 2017 win!) We are in our twenty-eighth year of the K9 Trials. It’s our largest fundraiser for the non-profit.

It brings agencies from all across the country and allows them to showcase their K9 teams. The first two days take place at Lake Las Vegas and the final ay takes place at the Orleans Arena. Last year, my K9 partner Bear and I competed. We were fortunate to win Top Dog out of 40 competitors and we helped win Top Agency. This meant a lot to me to represent my K9 section, my department and my community. Being “Vegas Strong” is something I take very seriously and hold dear to my heart.

We often come across many people that really don’t know what going in first really entails and what intense training is involved. Talk to me about that and the fact that you and your K9 team are the definition of real “first responders.” Often we are on scene with patrol officers before SWAT arrives. Active crime scenes demand we act and deploy our K9 partners accordingly. Our K9 partners save lives. They give us the time and distance to address a dangerous situation that we encounter. Talk about the organization, Friends For LV K9. How does the group help animals in transition, and how did you get involved? Friends is a great organization. Our department takes great care of our K9 partners during their

LEOMICCI: FIT FOR A KING – By Samantha Thomas

Picture this: A well-built, well-groomed gentleman walks into a room. He’s a military man, with an overcoat draped perfectly over his uniform. Once he takes off his coat, he puts it on a hanger and places it neatly in his locker. It’s a scene from the classic movie From Here to Eternity, and the gentleman is legendary actor Burt Lancaster; but, it’s also a scene that Jonathan Oe— entrepreneur, fashion designer and creator of men’s athletic luxury wear line Leomicci—describes as part of his “why.” “I saw that scene like 2 or 3 years ago, and it was embedded in my mind,” says Oe. “I said, ‘That’s what guys want: We want that! And, my customers…I want THAT for them. It’s a classic look.’” So in November 2016, his new line Leomicci was created. Like the “lion” that’s a part of the brand’s name, Leomicci a mix of luxury, toughness and lots of style working together to create this amazing line. It started with a pair of compression tights for a player on the Los Angeles Lakers, and soon, word spread about the comfort and reliability of his pieces. Oe’s team ended up making compression tights for all Lakers’ players. Today, Leomicci has spun into a creative mix of athletic and transitional style pieces that can evoke feelings of comfort and a sense of

22 | Deluxe Version Magazine

power…created especially for the classic man. “So, the whole key is when you put something on…how does it make you feel?” explains Oe. “There’s an emotional response….Everything has an emotional response in the way that it feels.” Oe knows all about that feeling of quality. From his early beginnings representing U.S. sports accessory brands in Japan and eventually working for the leading aerobics and leotard company Gilda Marx, Oe developed a sense for how clothes should feel and fit. “For example, says Oe, “I can make you feel unconfident or confident. I could make you feel elegant, or sloppy… all with what I put into a garment.” And today, says Oe, the Leomicci brand is grooming its gentleman customers to dress for relaxation in style…one piece at a time. “Men are sort of stuck in this spot where you’ve got what’s become the ‘traditional gym wear,’ says Oe. “It’s like men’s fashion has become a T-shirt and shorts for everything, and maybe a pair of jeans….I want to create this line for men that’s a transitional line, where we can provide this very beautiful elegant fashion, but in a way that is psychologically comfortable for them.” With his Huntington Beach-based showroom in

California and a team of 25 employees, Leomicci has grown into a men’s clothing brand with several lines including: Luxury Compression Wear; RAW Cotton Fleece; Palisade (breathable track suits made for training and running); 8th Avenue (business-casual sport suits with knittrimmed collars); and the classic ROMA Line being introduced in fall 2018. At its core, Leomicci continues to be on the prowl for longevity in the luxury-wear market. “We look at our customers: they’re architects, software designers; they’re engineers, they’re professional athletes,” says Oe. “We make them look and feel more powerful. Once somebody buys a piece from us, they continue to buy from us. [They] can’t stop!” he laughs. “It’s very addictive, but it’s a healthy addiction.”

GWEN STEFANI IS

JUST A GIRL …WITH A RESIDENCY

Cher. Britney. JLo. Celine. Now, Gwen. Known for her longevity, catchy hits and

marquis talent, it was no surprise that Gwen Stefani—the multi-platinum recording artist and former No Doubt lead singer—would join the sisterhood of Las Vegas’ single-name superstars. And since kicking-off her 25-show residency inside the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood in June, Stefani has been rockin’ a full-house night after night. “I love my fans!” gushed Stefani. “This was the first time I sang every song in a row, ever!” At 48, an exclusive gig like this is new for Stefani, but the Grammy winner says wowing her “Stefannabes” never gets old. “I do love being up [on stage]. I don’t know why I love that much attention. I guess I’m meant to be doing it.” Named “Just a Girl” after her 90s top-10 hit, the flashy two-hour production has a retro Vegas vibe mixed with Stefani’s signature SKA style, and even a few dancers in life-size bananas. (And that’s spelled B-A-N-A-N-A-S.) On opening night, I witnessed five costume changes at last count, with one slight wardrobe malfunction which she remedied quickly by inviting three young female

28 | Deluxe Version Magazine

fans to the stage to help fix her skirt. And out of all the show’s glitz and glam, Stefani says wearing the Jeremy Scott-designed country-getup in front of her boyfriend Blake Shelton was a true just-a-girl “fantasy come true.” “My favorite moment was standing in that cowgirl outfit in front of Blake. That part of the show for me is like my super love note. Like, ‘I’m so grateful: This is how much you influenced me and gave me life,’” says an emotional Stefani.   Stefani sings all her biggest hits—live—and throughout the show, shares her most personal thoughts on being unlucky in love, heartbreak and healing through music. “I try to be real and live by the truth of who I am,” she says. “I want people to come who have been listening to me my whole life. I want us all to get together and be like, reminisce.” So what you waiting for? For a sweet escape on the Strip, “Just a Girl”—presented by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment—is one good show. Hella good. It returns in December and will run through March 2019. – By Stacey Gualandi

Her adventures began with beauty pageants as a kid, then she soon fell into modeling at age 13. Back then, agents would scan her portfolio and inquire about the campaigns she had running. Now they simply ask, “How many followers do you have?” Times have changed and that’s okay with this blonde, green-eyed beauty. Dustin is a pro at rolling with it. Modeling taught her how to adapt to her surroundings. Now, she’s skilled in the art of shifting her personality to fit the publication, whether it be GQ magazine, Esquire, or with us here at Deluxe Version. “Your job as a model is to become exactly what the client envisions in their head,” she says. “You have to be a chameleon, in a sense.” It was a good skill to have back in 2014 when Dustin auditioned for the role of “Ana Hoem,” an exotic model on BET’s drama series Being Mary Jane. She arrived to the audition totally unprepared and admits there was no prep the night before. Glancing around the waiting room, she started to regret that decision as she spotted several famous models… AKA, her competition. Adding to the pressure, this was not just some small part: it was a recurring role with the show’s star, Gabrielle Union! But Dustin drew on her modeling skills by walking into the room with unbreakable confidence, letting loose her playful personality and letting go. Deluxe Version Magazine | 33

It’s classic folk lore in Hollywood: The less you care about getting a part, the more likely you will get it. Dustin will testify, it’s true. A few hours after the audition while getting a manicure, her phone rang. It was her agent: “You got the part. I’m sending over the contract.” As if on cue, she dove head-first into playing Ana and spent weeks at a time shooting in Atlanta, Georgia. She was originally booked for a short-term, co-starring role, but it turned into four seasons. In 2016, as her role on the TV series was winding down, sadly, so was her marriage. An 8-year relationship with her husband ended in divorce, but the two split on good terms. As she emerged from the shock, Dustin realized she enjoyed spending time alone, and soon rediscovered her own passions. Topping the list? Travel. A few weeks in Bali seemed logical for a woman getting over a break-up, and what 34 | Deluxe Version Magazine

Dustin found was pure beauty. She frolicked barefoot, walked with the elephants and quickly decided to stay a couple months. From there, she visited Morocco and camped under the stars with camels, all while making incredible friends. This model-turned-actress has accomplished a lot in her career, but she says there is no better adrenaline rush then meeting new people around the world. Oh, and of course…food! Dustin is a self-proclaimed foodie, so checking out the local cuisine wherever she goes is a must. Her most memorable meal this year? “I had the most incredible lobster pasta in Amoudi Bay in Santorini Italy.” Sounds good to us! Follow Jasmine’s adventures on Instagram @jasminedustin to spot these incredible destinations.

STAYING GROUNDED WITH

REXALYNN WALBERG – By Dani Reeves

The pressure of succeeding in front of an audience on social media can take a toll on your mind, body, and soul…yet Rexalynn Walberg continues to gracefully maintain her excellent reputation in the stressful world of real estate in Las Vegas.

“Socorro really helps me see the end result of what I want in life…like the empire I’m trying to build or the family I want to have,” Walberg says. She even admits to calling Socorro if she feels stressed during a closing on a house.

Walberg freely admits that the real estate industry is difficult to break into successfully, and that you can’t always do it on your own. In her case, she got her big break as the go-to real estate agent on the hit A&E TV show Flipping Vegas. Since then, she has worked to build her own brand and is now one of the leading agents in the Valley with her company Signature Real Estate Group. With numerous projects going on at once, Walberg avoids the toxicity of being in high demand by using meditation to stay grounded and real, “because that’s how I connect with people in my business,” she says.

Walberg also practices meditation every morning before she starts her day, and at night before bed. She concentrates on self affirmations and being grateful, because “it’s really important to love yourself first,” she says. “What you want for yourself all comes with divine timing,” she says. “I still have to tell myself this.”

Through meditation and lots of self love, Walberg has dramatically changed the path of her career, and although hard work and perseverance have gotten her far, Walberg credits her spiritual coach, Socorro, who she sees weekly. Together they focus on visualizing Walberg’s goals and bringing more positive energies into her life.

Reach Rexalynn Walberg at (702) 845-0815 and follow her at @RexyWalberg (Facebook); @rexalynnwalberg (Twitter); and @rexalynn (Instagram)

What’s next for Walberg? Without hesitation she claims, “I still put out to the universe that I’m going to have another TV show!” Perhaps in all divine timing!

DIVE INTO YOUR FUTURE HAPPINESS WITH

SUMMERLIN PSYCHIC – By Dani Reeves

Have you ever wondered about your future? Have you been curious about your career path, or whether you were making the right decisions in your relationships? Maybe you’ve been traumatized by a past event, or your intuition tells you something’s on the horizon but you just can’t put your finger on which direction to take or what it means?

It’s natural to question the unknown. Thankfully, there are highly attuned individuals who have the ability to feel and intuit beyond normal sensory contact in a way that gives us insight to all that is, and all that might be. Katherine of Summerlin Psychic is a spiritual counselor, and psychic advisor and healer who has been clairvoyant her entire life. A gift that runs more than three generations deep in her family, she says that growing up, “seeing visions was like how we now see Starbucks: We would see them every day.” Katherine—who, professionally, uses only her first name to protect her anonymity—has practiced for the last 25 years and lived in Las Vegas for the last 19. During her 90-minute sessions, clients

receive tarot-card readings which, in Katherine’s experience, help complement her deep psychic abilities, and allow her to deliver a more accurate experience to clients who are seeking her guidance.. “This is a gift that is to not only help people clarify things about their life that they want to know, but it’s a gift that allows me to help people when they’re at a crossroads,” Katherine says genuinely. “Whatever they are going through, [during their session] we cover as much as we can. I want clients to feel comfortable when they leave. I never allow them to get off the chair with questions left unanswered.” Katherine feels as if her entire life has been dedicated to helping others. “I love meeting new people and I’m very passionate about helping people feel comfortable about making big decisions that might come to light during our readings,” she says. “I am there to guide them through the readings. And, I don’t give any answers unless I am extremely sure.” For more information about Katherine or to book a session, reach her at summerlinpsychic.com or by calling 310-504-4365.

ATTORNEY STEVE DIMOPOULOS ANSWERS QUESTIONS FOR DV READERS

Q: I was involved in two car accidents. Will the second accident affect my first case? A: To recover bodily injury compensation, a plaintiff must prove not only that a defendant was negligent, but also that the defendant’s negligence caused the plaintiff’s injuries. Thus, both defendants might argue that you are unable to prove which of your injuries were sustained in your first accident as opposed to your second accident, and that you are therefore unable to prove your case.

Assuming you injured different parts of your body in each incident, proving which injuries were the result of each accident shouldn’t be an issue. In fact, it is often possible to prove apportionment even where the same body part was injured in both cases. This may be accomplished, for example, by comparing medical imaging that occurred between the first and second incident with imaging conducted subsequent to the second incident. A more interesting issue arises if you are able to prove you injured the same body part in both accidents, but are unable to prove the extent to which the injury is attributable to each incident. In this situation, the burden of proving apportionment shifts to the defendants. If the defendants are unable to prove the extent to which their respective negligence contributed to your injuries, then each defendant is jointly and severally liable for the entirety of your injuries. SOAPS’ SLAYER ROBERT SCOTT WILSON MAKES A KILLING IN DAYTIME TELEVISION –By Stacey Gualandi

When Days of Our Lives decided to breathe new

life back into a character all about death, actor Robert Scott Wilson didn’t choke. Wilson—with his scary good looks and bad boy bravado—once slayed devoted daytime fans as “Ben Weston,” the serial killer who strangled his way through (the fictional town of) Salem. Well, “Ben” is back, and this time he’s reformed and ready for romance. It was a part Wilson would kill for. “[‘Ben Weston’] went from being the most villainous bad guy…to now [having] this new light shined on him. The vulnerability and the path to redemption is just really nice to play as an actor,” says Wilson. “I’m really grateful to have such an opportunity again.” The 30 year old has cut his own path since growing up a shy kid with a single mom outside of Boston. (Despite his mother’s claim, Wilson has no recollection of singing along to Michael Jackson!) He says most of his east-coast upbringing revolved around playing professional paintball. “I grew up working and playing in paintball fields,” says Wilson. “I reffed tournaments and that’s something that a lot of people don’t know.” But his close friends pushed him to get off the field and on to film. He (reluctantly) signed with a local talent agency, which “opened up the door for me to stick my neck out.” That soon led to modeling, music videos and moving away to pursue a career that he admittedly says he fell into.

Going from paintball to Plinko wasn’t always easy for this darling of daytime dramas. Adjusting to LA life, nightmare roommates and sacrificing family and friendships back in Boston all took their toll, but Wilson says he’s blessed to be a working actor. “I know I’m just cracking the surface and there’s so much more that I want to do. I really believe that fortune favors the bold and not just in the business of my work and craft, but just in life in general,” shares Wilson. “You’ve got to take chances. The good stuff happens outside of your comfort zone and you have to kind of push when you don’t feel like it.” Wilson has several independent movies ready for release and plans to produce his own films in the near future. Someday he even hopes to go big AND go home. “To shoot something back home in Boston with a cast of my choice. That would just be the dream, you know?” In the meantime, he’ll keep “honing his craft” on the multiple Emmy-winning Days of Our Lives. When it comes to this serial, Robert Scott Wilson is killin’ it. “We’re all here for such a short amount of time. I know how quickly life can change and I just want to try to leave a mark.”

“My first scene ever as an actor was with Anne Hathaway [in Bride Wars], so I had this taste of a big studio film right off the bat. I was in the right place, right time…right shirt maybe,” he jokes. The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it-scene was good enough to get him a SAG card, more movies (The Social Network, Friends with Benefits); TV shows (Entourage, The Middle); and soaps (All My Children and, now, Days).

“That was such an awesome opportunity and it kind of shined a light on me to the daytime community, which has been so good to me,” he adds. “And one of the best things that came from that was my relationship with Drew Carey. [He] is one of the coolest, nicest guys.”

LISA VANDERPUMP WOWS WEST HOLLYWOOD WITH

TOM TOM – By Paul Zahn

Lisa Vanderpump is taking over West Holly-

wood’s hospitality scene one restaurant at a time. The iconic reality vixen recently opened Tom Tom, her latest venue in conjunction with two of the cast members from her hit Bravo TV show, Vanderpump Rules, Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval. Just a pebble’s throw from her other eateries PUMP Lounge and SUR, and Vanderpump has stepped things up a level with the new venue. Between the innovative cocktail list, chic design and innovative culinary offerings–her talents know no limits. Tom Tom was a work in progress for many months but it was one Vanderpump didn’t tackle solo. “It was a meeting of the minds: It was Ken [Todd], myself and designer Nick Alain,” she gushes, adding, “Nick is a genius.” Miami-based Nick Alain specializes in industrial design and helped bring Vanderpump’s intricate

vision to life. The bar is set against a giant brass clock and a floor to ceiling timepiece. The venue also includes a front and back patio with custom wood built-ins and crystal chandeliers throughout. Vanderpump also focused heavily on crafting an exemplary food menu and cocktail list. “The cocktail list is incredibly eclectic and unique. We brought in one of the best mixologists in America to work with us,” she shares. ”We wanted it to be as different as the place looks: We don’t want you to come in and get the regular vodka soda. I wanted everything to look extraordinary!” adding her affinity for the menu’s spicy Mezcal drink. Chef Penny Davidi collaborated with Vanderpump to craft the perfect list of culinary offerings for Tom Tom. The menu has something for

everyone, from crispy shrimp jicama tacos to cauliflower “wings” and a vegan burger. Davidi raves about Vanderpump’s talents in the kitchen and the opportunity to work together again. “Lisa has all these great ideas, so it is fun for me to bring them to life on the plate as an artist.” Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval foresee the new hot spot as more than every other West Hollywood spot. “It is not just a bar or restaurant,” says Schwartz. “It is an experience. I want people to come here, get lost and take a break from reality and check out for a few hours .” Sandoval agrees. “Tom Tom has a unique style and décor. The place is a step above everything!”

DITA VON TEESE & THE COPPER COUPE – By Allison Kugel

Born out of a time capsule from Hollywood’s golden era, glam-

our girl and burlesque goddess Dita Von Teese has been captivating imaginations around the world since she burst onto the scene in the early 2000s, first on the cover of Playboy Magazine, and then draped on the arm of controversial rocker, Marilyn Manson. Since then, Von Teese has carved out an iconic reputation for herself as the most famous and sought-after burlesque performer in the world. Vanity Fair has dubbed her a “Burlesque Superheroine,” and Elle has declared her an “all-around icon.” The raven-haired, fair-skinned, hourglass-shaped glamour girl who never leaves home without the perfect red lip and vintage sunglasses, Von Teese travels the globe performing burlesque shows that pay homage to the vintage artform, but with a modern interpretation. Sell-out crowds are mesmerized by her costumes that are perfectly adorned with breathtaking crystals and over-the-top stage props and accessories placed just so...including her signature martini glass bubble bath routine. (Incidentally, crowds are packed with Von Teese’s millions of female fans who draw inspiration from her old-world, finely crafted sensuality.) Having been fascinated with her image for some time, I sat down with Von Teese to discuss everything from her captivating appearance and stage performances to her thoughts about femininity, motherhood, feminism, and her current tour, Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe. In watching you perform, you truly look like you’ve stepped out of a time machine from the 1940s and 50s. It’s surreal. Are you comfortable living in this time period, or are there things about this era that you’re ill at ease with? I’m not living in another time. A lot of my clothes are modern, and I think about a lot of the modern things I do, such as updating my apps (laughs). I love so many things about modern technology. Although, I do have a huge collection of vintage clothing. There was a time in my life when I only wore vintage lingerie, I only drove my vintage car, I only wore clothes from the 1940s...but I’ve kind of evolved from that. The burlesque shows we produce are much different than a show you would have seen in the 1940s. We’re trying to capture the essence of those times, but the whole point is to evolve into something much different than it ever was; to evolve the history of burlesque. I never want anyone to think that I’m living in the past. You can look at the past and get inspiration from it, but it can end up being dusty and irrelevant if you don’t find ways to make it something that no one’s ever seen before. I do love to sit down with some of my favorite glamour girls of the past. I’m quite good friends with Mamie Van Doren who was a big 1950s bombshell and is still around to tell her stories. And I’m friends with Julie Newmar who, of course, was a great dancer and actress. I love to ask them about the past, and I love getting advice from them about the times we are living in and how to navigate being a glamour girl in modern times.

Would you ever consider (at least temporarily) sacrificing your brand and your hourglass figure to become pregnant? There are a few choices that I have made, like making a conscious decision not to have children, because I think it may be a good moment in time for some people to step away from that idea of feeling that it’s required. I think it’s a conscientious choice for modern times, because of over population. Throughout my life I always felt like I was going to quit [burlesque] and have a child, because I always thought I wanted them. More recently I have given thought to the unsustainable population growth and global climate change. Do I think it’s fascinating when women tell me that the most important and wonderful job they’ll ever do is raising a child? Yes. Then I think, “Oh wow, that’s interesting. I guess I won’t know what that’s like.” This is such a personal thing to ask a woman about, because what if I couldn’t have children? That’s not the case, but it’s such a personal topic. I thought it was relevant because you’ve spent so much time and energy cultivating this look, body and image. I would imagine it would be a big emotional undertaking to forfeit that for a pregnancy…. One of the things that’s important to me is letting my fans watch me go through different stages of life. I think even if I had decided to have a child, or if I still decide to, it will be fun to navigate that. I just did an event where there were pregnant pinup girls and pinup girls with their little children all dressed up in 1940s clothes, walking them around. It’s not that much to do with losing my look or anything like that. There are so many other factors for me, like being in a relationship or not being in a relationship. Is this the right person to have a child with? I’m actually quite into fate. I try to control what I can, but I have always been about, “If it happens it happens.” In your current show, Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe Tour, you have another model on stage with you: Gia Genevieve. What inspired you to cast her in your show? I had always wanted to have a blonde bombshell in the show. I had a hard time finding this kind of quintessential “Playboy” blonde. I met Gia a few times over the years and she always had this effervescence, and she was sexy and fun. I knew she wasn’t a dancer, but I wondered if I could teach her how to do my bubble bath act, simplify it and have her get her personality across on stage. She’s a lot of fun to watch and she’s the perfect example of, you don’t have to be dancing all over the place and doing backflips on stage to be wildly entertaining. Tell me about your collaboration with Absolut Elyx for the Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe tour. Being famous for bathing in a giant cocktail glass (laughs) I was open to a partnership with a cocktail company. I loved the ideas that Elyx had. They were just about beautiful, whimsical imagery that’s a tribute to what they do with their copper distillery. I was very familiar with their brand and loved the idea of making these tributes in the show to their imagery. I took a giant shell and dipped it in their signature copper. And I made a cocktail glass that’s a tribute to their style. We had a lot of fun creating the show and bringing it all together.

Deluxe Version Magazine | 51

DITA VON TEESE & THE COPPER COUPE

Australia to get that big mainstream acceptance at first. I performed a lot What other imagery on stage will reflect this tour’s name, The Copper Coupe? With every tour, I’ve re-done a version of my martini glass act. I have a sixpiece set of gigantic glasses at this point. I could have a giant cocktail party! I’m always thinking, “How can I one-up that number and make it fresh and new?” For this tour, one of the most exciting parts is the costume. I collaborated with my longtime creative partner, Catherine D’Lish, and we put our heads together and came up with the most extravagant costume we’ve done, to date. A big part of making the show was this gown. I can’t tell because I’m wearing it on stage, but from what people are telling me it lights up the entire room. I know you’re the Swarovski queen.... Everything is crystallized on this costume. We haven’t weighed it yet, but I keep asking to. It’s completely covered, and we’re using a new version of their aurora borealis stone. They’re cut like diamonds, and the effect is mind-boggling. People have been asking if my costume is electrified or plugged in. It’s really something to see under the lights. You’ve been quoted saying that burlesque is a new kind of feminism. How so? It’s become that for a lot of women. The feminist movement must be respectful of other women’s ideals of what it is, and what it means. More than ever, we as women have to respect each other’s choices. Like I always say, and this is the truth, my audience is mainly female. My social media following is about 85 percent female. When I started in the 1990s I had a lot of male fans, and when I was a Playboy model I had a lot of male fans. It shifted in the early 2000s when I came out with a book and told my story about why I loved pinup, why I loved burlesque, and what it meant to me to have [those women as] my beauty icons. That resonated with a lot of people and that was when it all started to shift...when I exhibited my vulnerability about why I love this. I like to say that it’s an alternative feminist movement. What do you say to the women who cry out that burlesque is objectification? I think that idea has been turned upside down [since] my audience is mainly female. They’re getting inspiration from this and feeling like they can harness their own sensual power in a different way, and be in control of it. I would never say that striptease and burlesque should be for everyone. I have always loved things that walk that fine line, where one person looking at it thinks it’s inspiring and magical, and another person thinks it’s dirty and bad. It’s interesting to me the way people see things. I find things that are polarizing to be interesting. Do you think femininity and feminism can peacefully co-exist in the #MeToo era? And have you found yourself in the crosshairs of a certain segment that disagrees with your idea of feminism? Yes. But for me, I have always understood feminism to be about having choices. I don’t see how you can put rules on that, especially now. Whatever you do, there’s always going to be someone who criticizes it. I think more than ever it’s about sticking close to people who share your beliefs. You try to understand other people’s point of view, but you don’t have to take it for your own or feel like someone is pointing a finger at you. We have to stop pointing fingers at other people. You perform your show all over the world. What are the differences in how burlesque is received in the United States versus other countries? What’s interesting is that the striptease-style burlesque was invented in America, and it was thriving here in the 1930s and 1940s. That’s the funniest part about all of this. I had to go to France, England, Germany, and

52 | Deluxe Version Magazine

in the UK during the early part of my career and I would do mainstream television shows over there. I could talk about what I was doing there, and I could go to France and do my show on television. They could show the pasties and the G-string, and it was fine with everyone. In the United States, there’s this strange sensibility where it’s okay to promote a film with a lot of violence, but it’s not okay to put overt sensuality into the mainstream. It’s not just sensuality, but decisive sensuality. That’s one of the things people have a problem with. If I had made a sex tape and said, “Oh, I’m sorry I did that,” it would be more acceptable compared to me deciding to present striptease and eroticism, and do it in this way, because it’s decisive. It’s not “accidental.” I often think of that: Am I inspiring other women to embrace their sensuality in a way that they’re not apologizing for, and is that what upsets people? You brought burlesque to the forefront during a time when it wasn’t part of the mainstream pop culture vortex. What advise do you have for other creative pioneers? I think I had it better in some ways back then. I feel lucky that I didn’t have the Internet to influence me when I started. I had to use my imagination. I didn’t have anyone to watch, except ladies from the past. There wasn’t YouTube. I had to really forge my own path and I’m grateful for that. I think one of the things getting in people’s way now is the feeling that everything has already been done, because they’re scrolling through Instagram. Or, they’ll look through social media and just copy what other people are doing. They don’t have to rely on their imagination. I didn’t have others to measure myself up against. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be inspired by other people, [because] even if it appears that everything has been done before, there are ways of making it better or different. Then the moral of the story is, there’s going to be some ridicule either way, so why not forge your own path? For #oldheadshotday, I posted my early headshot on Instagram and someone commented, “But your [eye]brows don’t look good.” I was like, “Listen. I was 19 years old and I didn’t have a 400- page book about retro glamour called Your Beauty Mark [Von Teese’s beauty how-to book/Dey Street Books] to look at yet! I had to make all the mistakes so that I could tell you all the short cuts.” There are always people who must come first and experiment and make those mistakes in order for other people to pick up that knowledge. I certainly did that with burlesque queens of the past, looking at their pictures and thinking about how I could do it in my own way. For people who have yet to see a burlesque show, what will it be like for them to experience the Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe tour? They will be very excited to see the diversity of my fellow cast members. You’re on a wild ride of beauty and glamour in its many shapes and forms, and it’s unexpected and inclusive. I think most people walk away thinking, “I’m a little bit like her. I can be like that: Yeah!” My show is a warm and welcoming place, and it’s raucous: it’s wild! I’m really proud of the show as a whole, and people will experience the biggest burlesque show in history. Dita Von Teese is currently touring throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. CHASE MCNARY THE NEXT CHAPTER

CHASE MCNARY – By Olivia Fierro

Scottsdale is the answer. I think my heart will be happy here. Chase McNary is a guy on a journey. The 29 year old readily admits he is looking for something that’s eluded him…something beyond his six-pack abs and reality television show fame. He hopes he’ll find that missing puzzle piece in the beautiful resort community of Scottsdale, Ariz., which he now calls home. The crown jewel of the Valley of the Sun, Scottsdale is the perfect background for someone like him, who wants to feel as good as he looks. Set against a background of spas and saguaros, McNary is planning his fairy tale ending: buying a house, finding a girl and settling down.

Today, he’s achieving a sense of well-being by practicing yoga and embracing the mind-body connection as an enlightened, adventurous guy willing to explore energy healing, therapy and meditation. He finds liberation in admitting, “It is okay not to be okay,” and enjoys the commitment it takes to feel better. That’s not to say he’s all peace and no party: Chase McNary is definitely enjoying his bachelor status. He enjoys a good tequila, a pool party at the W, and he compares the nightlife in Old Town Scottsdale to Cancun. McNary’s future is as bright as his smile. Whether hiking Camelback Mountain or Tom’s Thumb Trail, he’s moving forward with enthusiasm. And as for love, he’s open to finding it right here in Scottsdale, away from the cameras. Bonus? He can swap that cheesy red rose for a wild, desert bloom.

“The Bachelor Nation,” as show devotees are known, will immediately recognize McNary as a season 12 suitor to JoJo Fletcher on ABC’s The Bachelorette. They know he was one of the last studs standing in line for her final rose, and they felt for him when he was dumped in Thailand. (Viewers probably don’t know he got to lick his wounds with 12 post-breakup days in paradise—without cameras—while the show continued to film. Not a bad way to mend a broken heart, he admits, even if you didn’t get the rose.) Exploring exotic destinations is one of the many perks that come with millions of viewers knowing your name. “Travel’s been insane,” he says, recently enjoying a golf vacation to the 2018 Ryder Cup course in France, as a guest of Private Golf Key Travel. Golf is a McNary passion, and another reason to call Scottsdale home. Here, he loves to be part of the party at the Waste Management Phoenix Open; has Ricky Fowler’s number in his cell phone; and hits the links at Troon North Golf Club. While McNary lives an enviable life, he admits he “has a celebrity’s fame; none of the fortune.” But he’s building up business training clients at Glory Gains; booking paid appearances and endorsement deals; and has partnered with apparel company LeisureLetics to make t-shirts and yoga pants. His fitness program, Left Side Lion, (named after his tattoo) allows him to encourage clients outside of Arizona to sweat every day. McNary truly believes that fitness works, inside and out. He knows this from experience. “I have been a little bit lost,” he says, reflecting especially on a dark time he experienced after filming a reality show for MTV, “but I find myself in fitness.” The glare of the spotlight and the pace of life in Los Angeles were “stealing some of his soul,” he says, and dynamics of the hometown visit on The Bachelorette had come between him and his father. McNary knew himself well enough to know he needed a reboot. He didn’t need more reality television, he needed a fresh start in Scottsdale.

ARIANNY ARIANNY CELESTE Deluxe Version Magazine | 61

FROM UFC RING TOBLING –By Stacey Gualandi

Ultimate

Fighting Championship’s Arianny Celeste says she was once very shy. “I would never walk around in front of people in a bikini. I remember the first couple times I worked for UFC, I literally ran around the ring so fast because I was so nervous…” That was then. This is now. Celeste has long shed that former shy shell to become one of the UFC’s most successful card-carrying “ring girls.” And with her seductive stares, tanned-and-toned torso, and—low-and-behold, a bevy of barely-there-bikinis—she is now immortalized on Instagram with over three million faithful followers. “It’s okay to be sexy,” says the Mexican model. “But back it up with a lot of brains.” And that’s just what she’s doing. Since becoming an Octagon girl in 2006, the Las Vegas native is now a millionaire, while earning several titles herself: Ring Girl of the Year. Spokesmodel. Television host. Singer. Entrepreneur. Not bad for a bashful girl with a Maxim subscription, who, years later, graced a cover of its “Hottest” issue. “I never thought I’d leave Las Vegas, let alone go see another country. I travel and see the world and it’s all because of UFC. It opened so many doors and helped me become a confident person,” she admits. Now, for the gal who prefers no makeup when she’s not working, “confidence” is exactly what she hoped to convey as Deluxe Version Magazine’s newest camera-friendly cover girl. I caught up with Celeste inside the Palms at Camden and Apex back in her hometown for “fight week,” 58 | Deluxe Version Magazine

which includes pool parties, club appearances, fan meet-and-greets and, of course, time in the ring. “I think it’s one thing to be known for your beauty, like a ring girl; but to be known as a strong and powerful figure…that’s pretty awesome,” says Celeste. “That’s what I want both my [younger] sisters to be like. I’m really proud of them, so I want to make my family proud.” This big sister is also looking out for her fellow females. Together with her best friend Alejandra Boggiano, Celeste created “Girlfriend Box” this year, a curated gift box delivered monthly to savvy subscribers. She credits Boggiano, who is already a successful swimsuit entrepreneur, for giving her the courage to say, “I too can own my own business.” Celeste says she’s had a million doors slammed in her face and admits that her first hosting gig on Discovery’s “Overhaulin’” didn’t happen until she almost gave up. But her drive to keep going, she says, comes naturally. “My mother went through a lot. She lost my father when she was pregnant with me. She is my role model and she’s had to work really hard.” With a business to fall back on “that doesn’t rely on her looks,” Celeste has become something of a role model herself. She now tells young girls who want to follow in her photogenic footsteps—especially in a business where men do “misuse their power”— one solid piece of advice: “Don’t let anyone discourage you, no matter who they are and what kind of power they have. Women are powerful on their own. You can do anything.” Nope. She’s definitely not shy anymore.

PRONTO IS A DELICIOUSLY QUICK FIX GIADA’S SECOND RESTAURANT SERVES FAST-CASUAL TASTES OF HER FAMOUS CUISINE – By Stacey Gualandi

New York Times best-selling author, Food Network phenom, and Las

Vegas restaurateur Giada De Laurentiis has mastered meals that keep you lingering at the dinner table. But this celebrated chef isn’t one to sit still for long.  She recently expanded her Roman empire to feed fast-paced Italophiles and their families just like hers. Pronto by Giada, located inside Caesars Palace, is De Laurentiis’ second Strip restaurant. It follows her fine-dining concept, Giada at the Cromwell, which opened 4 years ago and just celebrated its anniversary with all-new seasonal menu additions. Both restaurants feature her signature California-Italian cuisine, with Pronto catering more to the quick-serve crowd. “I’m extremely proud of what we’ve created at Pronto: The restaurant provides a great introduction to my food and brand in a more casual setting, and it serves all the things I love…with my own personal twist,” says De Laurentiis. Inspired by all-day Italian cafés (as well as her 9-year-old daughter, Jade, who gave feedback on the kid-friendly menu) Pronto’s offerings include panini (Italian sandwiches), contorni (side dishes), salads, pasta, scrumptious baked goods, and gelato (which De Laurentiis calls “to die for”). Items are appetizing, approachable and a lot easier on the wallet than her flagship restaurant. Pronto also has a full-service wine bar and serves

Counter Culture Coffee from North Carolina. It’s the first eatery to serve the sustainable brew in Nevada. After a recent visit to Caesars Palace that found my entourage and me tight on time, Pronto was the perfect place to grab-and-go après a show. For a “quick bite of the good life” as the menu reads, we got half-off a bottle of wine, and a visit to the master chef’s merch shop, which sells everything from customized cooking tools to t-shirts. I am now officially fluent in Giada. “Opening a restaurant is a labor of love,” says the Emmy-winning chef. “With my first, I gave it my all and it was no easy task. It takes a minute, but we’re getting there. “Pronto is really starting to come together and it’s really fun to see everyone’s reactions,” she adds. Six months in, there’s already talk that De Laurentiis may serve up more fast-casual spinoffs. For now, she says there is only one Pronto offspring on her restaurant-empire menu. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

LENNY KRAVITZ ON SPREADING LOVETHROUGH MUSIC – By Allison Kugel

Twenty-nine years after releasing his debut album, Lenny Kravitz is still letting love rule...

but with an eye toward societal strife that continues to go unchecked. The multi-Grammy award winning musician brings forth a conscious body of work with Raise Vibration, his eleventh studio album, othat was released Sept. 7. Raise Vibration’s first single, It’s Enough, is a battle cry against corporate greed, political corruption and racism. Kravitz switches gears with his follow up single, Low, exploring the perils of his near-mythical sensuality with intonations alluding to his past intimate relationships. For Kravitz, the art of the story is paramount, while pop music trends are immaterial. He tells stories through his writing, vocals and the multitude of instruments he has mastered over the years. Musically, Raise Vibration is an eclectic blend of the stylistic rock n’ roll-funk sound that Kravitz is known for, with subtle nods to vintage R&B and choruses that sway toward pop appeal. His music puts you in a trance-like groove and defies all genres. Lenny Kravitz, the man, is a veritable roadmap of his experiences. From making his way in an industry that doesn’t always value individuality, to navigating a world that begged to define and categorize him by race and ethnicity in his formative years, he wears his memories on his sleeve and they inform much of his artistic expression. Our conversation surprised me as it took a more intimate turn...delving into matters of spirituality, racial identity, family, and the rituals that aide him in creating his eclectic sound. We were very much on the same page as he shared his feelings about everything from racism and societal injustice to his personal spiritual journey, his family and his music. 64 | Deluxe Version Magazine

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

You’ve said you were born to make music. What is your earliest memory of knowing that music would be your life? For me, the pivotal moment was going to see The Jackson 5 at Madison Square Garden when I was 6 years old. I was in the first grade. I had already been intently listening to their record. But I went to the show, and the next morning that was it! I was completely sold. I knew that’s what I wanted to do. In what way did they resonate with you? Number one was the music. The music was incredible. The music that was made by these kids was not elementary—it wasn’t “bubble gum,” as they used to say back then about young artists. This was very sophisticated, high-level music with the best musicians, the best producers, and [Michael] was one of the best singers who ever lived and who ever will live. The level of interpretation, and feeling and vocal range…it was a perfect storm for me, the way everything came together. On top of the music, the presentation and the showmanship were top level and soulful, and these were people that I could identify with. They looked like me. I had the same hair… there were so many things that came together in my mind. When and where do you feel most creative and musical? It could be anywhere, but it’s in the studio, so wherever that may be. My studio is in the Bahamas. It’s my favorite place to work; it’s my workshop. When I’m in the studio and I’ve got all my equipment and all my instruments, and everything is set up, that’s the magical place for me. It’s where I’m comfortable and where I can flow. When I’m inspired and in that flow, I can move. I jump around from instrument to instrument, and it’s wonderful. The first single off the new album—It’s Enough—is an anthem about political corruption and social and racial injustice. Was writing it a form of therapy for you...a way of turning hopelessness into empowerment? For example, I live part of the year in Florida, not too far from Parkland. When the Parkland school shooting happened, I went into a depression where I was feeling helpless as a parent. Then I thought, “I’m a writer. I can contribute something by writing a piece about this.” Was it a similar process for you? I react to the world. Just as you say you did, I have a reaction. I actually recorded the song twice. I was trying to find the direction for the record. The first version was a full-on guitar, bass, drum, punk rock song. It had an angry tone to it, because that felt like the proper reaction. And then I thought about it and ended up changing it and finding this groove, which is the polar opposite of what it started out as. I found that by being calm and by being centered and by being quiet, it was more effective. It brought out a whole new feeling in the song, and I think it enables the listener to hear the lyrics even better. And you feel it brings more of a positive energy, as opposed to the original version, which would have brought forth anger. Absolutely. I’m all about positive energy. I’m stating the facts, but in the end, I always take an optimistic and positive tone that, “People, we can do this!” We can do it. It’s just a matter of waking up. What does the title of your album, Raise Vibration, mean to you? And how do you raise your vibration? Do you meditate? Do you pray? It means exactly that: waking up. I meditate, I pray, I try to be still, I try to be quiet…and listen. It means having the desire to learn, to improve, and to face my faults and learn from them. I’m always looking to go higher. And taking as much ego out of myself as possible.

Do you consider yourself an activist? That’s a difficult one. I use my music to express myself, and if it inspires others then that’s a beautiful thing. I don’t know that I’m initially doing it for any other reason than to express myself. But I do see myself going more in that direction where you could call it that. I ask because when I listened to It’s Enough, I could tell you’re at a point in your life and career where you have no problem stating your opinions on societal issues. Right; but for instance, from my first album, Let Love Rule, up until now, I haven’t had that problem. It’s always been within me to express myself truthfully. I always say that when I enter a room, or wherever I may be, that I never walk alone because I can feel the presence of God beside me, as well as my great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents, my siblings, and my son. I walk into a space with the energy of those who made me who I am. Who walks beside you? God is with me at all times, which I am always aware of. And the energy of my mother, of my grandmother, of my grandfather. My daughter (actress, Zoe Kravitz), who is here with me on this earth, is always with me. And like you said, knowing that and feeling that, and knowing that spirit is far superior to anything here. The physical presence is wonderful, and something that we require and crave as human beings. We’re spiritual beings living a physical experience...but as you say, you recognize that you have these people with you and it just shows how strong spirit is and how strong energy is. My mother (the late actress, Roxie Roker) has been gone for 20-plus years, and I can still feel her every day. I can still sense her presence because the energy she left is so powerful. That’s an awesome thing. Speaking of kids, how would your daughter Zoe describe you...as a man and as an artist? Oh, wow! We’re very, very close. I think she would say that I have respect and integrity, and love in my heart. I think as a musician, she respects what I do. She’s grown up around it. She grew up seeing it her whole life. This is hard because if I say, “She thinks I’m amazing,” then it sounds like I’m complimenting myself. She respects the craft, what it takes and what I put into it, which is everything. Raise Vibration was released on Sept. 7. What are those days like for you...when a new album drops? When I’m finished with an album, I’m at that place where I let go and I’m excited that I’m finished. It’s always exciting getting a new project out. I hope the people who enjoy my music will get something beautiful from it, and will relate to it. As far as the rest, in terms of how well it does— sales and all of that—that’s all great...but the main thing for me is that I expressed myself authentically to who I am, who I was at that moment in time, and that it represents me well. That to me is everything. That’s a success. 3X Platinum Lenny Kravitz GREATEST HITS album is now available on vinyl as a 2 LP set via Virgin/Ume at uDiscoverMusic. His 11th studio album Raise Vibration released earlier this month via BMG and is available at LennyKravitz.com. It’s Enough is available to stream at iTunes.

For some, having a baby is the most defining moment of one’s life. They

grow up dreaming of what their family will be like, how many kids they want, and what they would name their firstborn. However, when it’s time for that dream to come true, it’s not always as easy as we may imagine. Statistically, most women have only a 20 percent chance of getting pregnant in any given month, while becoming pregnant is not even an option for some; however, at Red Rock Fertility Clinic, there are no limits when it comes to adding a baby to your family. Eva Littman, M.D., and her state-of-the-art facility makes something that may not seem real, a reality. LINING UP THE PERFECT SMILE WITH

INVISALIGN – By Samantha Thomas

A shifting alternative for those not-so-straight smiles is a top treatment by Jonathan S. Dean, DDS, and the teams at Summerlin Smiles and Distinctive Smiles in Summerlin and Las Vegas, Nevada.

For over 14 years, Dean’s ability to transform lives by perfecting smiles is a part of what makes him stand out in his field; but it’s his commitment to and expertise in offering quality cosmetic dentistry services—specifically Invisalign— thatmakes him one of the top acknowledged professionals in the Las Vegas Valley. WHAT IS INVISALIGN? Invisalign aligners are a clear alternative to metal braces. These orthodontics move your teeth into the best position possible for function and beauty. According to Dean, prescribing Invisalign aligners is one of his most practiced procedures for anyone seeking a healthy, beautiful smile. “I’ve treated patients from the age of 12-78, including my Mom who is 74 years young,” he says. THE PROCESS To make sure Invisalign is right for you, here’s how Dean and his team confidently walk patients through the process. Everyone starts with an initial consultation, where a patient’s teeth are scanned with a state of the art iTero Element scanner, which takes a 3D digital picture of the patient’s teeth to show how their smile would be transformed with Invisalign. If a client is approved as a candidate, custom Invisalign trays are then created. While metal braces have stood at the forefront of teeth straightening, Invisalign—which was introduced in 1997—is still an unknown option for

many. However, as Dean says, it’s the more aesthetically pleasing option. “With Invisalign, there are no metal brackets or wires, and you’re able to remove the trays for cleanings,” says Dean. “And, you’re able to eat and drink what you want without a lot of restrictions.” WHY INVISALIGN? Numbers talk, and according to Dean, “we’ve successfully treated over 1,500 Invisalign patients. We’ve seen the very simple, to the really complex, and we’re able to handle the whole gambit.” To note, Summerlin Smiles and Distinctive Smiles are among the top 2 percent Invisalign providers in the country. “We utilize digital scanning [which means] no messy impressions,” adds Dean. “This also helps the Invisalign trays to be precise, so the treatment is predictable and more successful.” If you’re considering Invisalign, Dean reminds prospective patients of both options. “Traditional orthodontics requires once a month tightening of your wires, and with Invisalign we’re able to give you additional trays to continue your treatments without coming to the office,” notes Dean. Invisalign success stories are also a highlight for Dean (who’s a product of Invisalign, himself). “My favorite appointments are ones where we get halfway through and see the patient’s face light up, because they see the change,” Dean says. “We then go back and look and see how they started; and nearing the finish line, it’s like a night and day difference.” Find out more at www.summerlinsmiles.com, and on Instagram and Facebook at @jonathandeandds

DAVID GUETTA TALKS HIP HOP CULTURE AND LUCKY NUMBER 7 – ByAllison Kugel

David Guetta has become a music impresario, churning out beatbang-

ing, genre-busting pop songs that have been topping the charts for nearly a decade with mega hits like Titanium featuring Sia; Where Them Girls At featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj; Club Can’t Handle Me featuring Flo Rida; Who’s That Chick featuring Rihanna and I Gotta Feeling featuring The Black Eyed Peas. As the King of Collabs, Guetta’s creative input almost assures chart-topping status: His fans have dubbed his music “Guetta-blasters”...an homage to his bold immersion into hip hop culture, and his constant and effortless ability to blend hip hop and pop with an addictive beat. Born in France to liberal intellectuals who shunned materialism, Guetta says he yearned for a more glamourous life, which he soon discovered in Europe’s underground club scene where he began deejaying as a teenager. He also fell in love with all things American, delving into American books, movies and music, and yearning to conquer the stateside music scene. During our conversation we discussed his seventh (yes: seventh) studio album, simply titled, 7. It’s an eclectic, genre-fluid collection of emotionally charged lyrics and hypnotic melodies; and it’s full of Guetta’s famous collaborations with the likes of Sia, Jason Derulo and Justin Bieber. Was your creative vision for merging electronic dance with urban music there from the start, or did it evolve into that because of the opportunities that came your way? This may sound crazy, but when I was a kid and I began deejaying, there was no electronic music (laughs). I was playing funk, and then I went to hip hop and then house music. That’s why for me, it’s kind of natural, because I come from this culture. Then I just moved to a different style, and one day I was able to merge them together. I love music, in general. I like to create emotions with my music, and I like to make people dance. You’re the first deejay I’ve seen that has been able to not just cross various musical genres, but transcend them...to the point where you’re considered a mainstream recording artist in your own right. How did you create this space for yourself that really didn’t exist before? The world is a certain way, the music industry is a certain way, and if you want to be part of a certain “family,” you’re told, “This is the way things are done.” To me, you don’t have to follow those rules. I created my own rules. At that time, I was extremely criticized for this. And then everybody did the same. I want to create my own rules, basically. That’s how I have always been doing it, and that’s how I’m doing it now: I just finished my [latest] album and it’s very eclectic. Yes, it certainly is. Every song has a completely different sound and emotional tone to it. From your perspective, is there any one theme that ties the album together? This album is called 7. It is my seventh album, but the number seven also represents the end of a cycle: a week is seven days; the creation of the world in the Bible is seven days; and my birthday is on [Nov. 7]. That number is kind of magic to me. We were talking about how I merged different styles in the past and created a new style of pop music: What I did wit

70 | Deluxe Version Magazine

this album, I wanted to go back to my roots and do a full pop album in different styles. I’m going to do a full electronic album that is completely going back to my roots and being completely underground. So basically, instead of compromising, I’m going to create those magic moments with an album that I could play in the festivals, in the clubs and be able to have played on the radio. It came down to either being very pop or hip hop for the radio, or being underground again in the clubs. I wanted this album to be real. There is this one record that I really love, which was released in Europe, that is called Don’t Leave Me Alone. It’s one of my favorite albums. It’s pop, but it’s electronic and forward thinking, and it doesn’t sound like anything else out there. I also have Latin records and a huge record with Jason Derulo and Nicki Minaj. Is there a difference for you when it comes to collaborating with male artists versus female artists? Do you take a different approach? Not really. Sometimes I will write with a male artist and we will have a female artist sing it. This happens a lot; or even the other way around. If you want to go higher in the notes, of course you would do that with a female artist. Also, you’re not going to necessarily tell the same story in the music with a male artist versus female, even though things are changing, and I love this (laughs)! I think that things are a little bit less stereotyped right now. What is the difference, culturally, between how your music is received in Europe versus in the states? It’s extremely different. There was this magic moment in my career where I brought people together and opened doors for this kind of music in the U.S., with songs like I Gotta Feeling (with the Black Eyed Peas), Club Can’t Handle Me (with Flo Rida) and music like that. It was a special moment of pop music that transcended genre, around 2009, 2010 and 2011. Now, in the U.S., it’s mainly hip hop. Among the biggest deejays in Europe, I am probably the one that is in the middle, culture-wise. The bigger deejays in Europe could probably not be as successful in the U.S. Hip hop has absorbed every culture there was, in the United States. Hip hop stars are the new rock stars in the U.S. They act like it and they dress like it. They don’t use the old hip hop codes; they use the rock n’ roll codes. I think that kids who would have in the past been into rock or alternative music, those same kids today are into hip hop. They relate to that rebellious, provocative culture. I think it’s very interesting how they absorbed this. In Europe, if you want to be cool and different, you would likely be into underground dance music. PLAYLIST UPDATE NEW MUSIC WITH DAVID GUETTA

FABULOUS

BAKER BOY – By Stacey Gualandi Brad Pitt? A rocket scientist? Elvis? For Shania Twain,

those don’t impress her much. But Bastian Baker is another story. Twain was so taken by his performance over 6 years ago at the Montreux Music Festival, she handpicked the Swiss singer and songwriter to be her opening act. “I would’ve never ever been on this tour if she hadn’t decided to have me,” says Baker. “It’s kinda crazy when you think back about it.” This summer, The NOW World Tour marked the 27 year old’s savvy stateside debut as a warm-up for tens of thousands of “Twainiacs,” finally giving Americans a taste of what European audiences have known for years. (Yes, this fabulous Baker boy already has a Swiss army of fans.) Growing up in Switzerland, he shared a passion for both singing and skating. As a teen, he was even on the country’s National Hockey Team. But faster than you can say Toblerone, he got discovered in a bar (by Montreux Music Festival founder Claude Nobs); his first song Lucky became a big hit on the radio; and he sold over a million singles. By the time Twain met him, the transition from skates to six-strings was sealed. “I can’t say that I was the performer or the entertainer that I am now. But [Shania] said I had a uniqueness in my writing that she doesn’t find in other songwriters,” says the acoustic admirer. I spoke with the multi-lingual musician ahead of the final show in Las Vegas before the tour moves to his ol’ European stomping grounds. (Ever the hockey fan, I watched as he endeared the audience in a singalong by invoking Stanley Cup runner-up the Vegas Golden Knights.) While he’s been playing arenas for 10 years, Baker is not a household name here…yet. But with his wit, charm, charismatic stage presence (he ain’t bad lookin’ either) and his self-titled American album debut Bastian Baker dropping on Oct. 26, he may go from sharing the stage with Shania, to headlining his own tour someday soon. Shania would definitely be impressed.

You really command an arena! How did you learn to do that? I started playing bars when I was 13, and it was at my dad’s [Swiss sports bar] where everybody was talking while I was playing. So I had to find ways to catch people’s attention. I’ve had shows where, literally, I would walk on stage and nothing would happen: they would still talk and talk. So before I’d sing anything, I’d just scream for like a minute to get everybody’s attention and then start my song. Is that why you have no fear getting up in front of 15,000 people? I’ve always loved the challenge of opening up for an artist. I’ve always loved to be the underdog…to be the surprise. So I’m very relaxed when I walk on stage. A guy the other day was like, ‘Dude, do you realize that you’re whistling when you’re walking up on stage?’ I was like, ‘Oh really? Am I?’ I’m just really relaxed cause I’m in total control of what I’m going to do. I love what I do. And sometimes it takes me one-two-three-four4 songs before the whole room is going crazy. But so far on this tour, [the audience] is very loving. How hard was it to give up your hockey career? I could’ve made it if I had worked a little harder. But I always had this music thing. I started playing hockey and playing guitar at the same time when I was 7 years old. The last [hockey] season I played was 2010-2011. We actually won the championship that year! At the same time, I was recording the first album and doing some press. I remember I had like 6 months of transition where I would be driving to the practice for hockey and on my way there, I would hear my song on the radio. What was it like hearing your song on the radio? First of all, I remember almost crashing my car. And second of all, I started thinking like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna have to make a choice.’ So after we were done with the season, I started playing festivals. The first album release was coming and we started having a lot of fans. So instead of looking into a new team that I could play for, I just went on with the music thing. Do you miss playing hockey competitively? There’s one thing about sports in general that can’t be recreated in music, and if you ask me what I miss about sports, it would be that feeling of a Game 7 overtime win. [That] instant—the second—is something that doesn’t really happen with music.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

What’s it like having your parents visit on tour? I love both my parents and they gave me so much while I was growing up. They gave me the opportunity to play hockey. We all remember these weekends they’d have to wake up at 5 in the morning for a hockey game that we would lose 8-0 and then come back. So I think about all the sacrifices, all the money invested. The fact that nowadays I’m in the position where I can help them, or I can invite them to these shows and to live in these unique experiences…that’s something I really love. Is there an experience that comes to mind? I was playing in front of the Brandenburg Gate—the iconic door in Berlin where Germany was separated in two parts—for the anniversary of the reunification of both Germanys. There were about 1 million people in the street as we’re playing. I remember I insisted to play one song—just guitar and vocals—because I thought it would be funny with just a guitar for a million people. Looking on the left side of the stage, at the VIP area, my mom was looking at me winking at her, and she shook her head like, “Oh my God, that kid is crazy.”

Images coutresy of Sunny Martini & Christoph Kaminski

Do you have a nickname for your guitar? Well, my favorite guitar, my old-time guitar, just got completely destroyed in a terrible accident in Nashville. I’m still recovering…. I never had nicknames for my guitars. I just called them my girlfriends. What is one behind-the-scenes NOW Tour secret that you can share with fans? [I’m] super competitive [when it comes to sports]. I play tennis with Shania and her husband on our days off. Just scoring a point makes me crazy! And let me tell you, she’s kicking ass. She’s really good. It’s pretty awesome, actually. Shania Twain will be a judge on the new singing competition show Real Country. As a former TV judge for The Voice (Belgium), did you give her any tips? Oh, she doesn’t need any tips from me! It was funny: The other day we were in Nashville and we were talking about how every country star has a restaurant now, and she was like, ‘Should I get one?’ I know a lot of people in Nashville so I was like, ‘Well, if you’re looking into that, I know a lot of people that could help you do that.’ And she laughed and looked at me and said, ‘Honey, I know a lot of people too.’ What inspired the song All Around Us ? I’ve kind of always been driven by this positivity. I’m mostly going to be the guy that helps you get out of your dark-zone. All Around Us is exactly that. [One morning] I needed to write a positive song; there was a terrorist attack in Europe and it was just all over the news and I was just sick and tired of all this. I’ve traveled around the world and 99.99 percent of the people I‘ve met are awesome…and do awesome things. And the world is great. And I just wanted to put the focus on that and give a shout-out to those people and a way of ‘thanking them’ song. How do you feel about your latest single Stay and upcoming album? It’s always been a dream of mine to release music in the United States… the home of the music I grew up listening to and drew my inspiration from. This record is the best introduction I know how to make, and is a true reflection of who I am and where I’ve been. Ten years later, is your career just getting started? I feel like there’s so much more to do. I want to write so much more music. I want to play so many more songs. I want to travel so much more. I don’t think I’m the most talented musician that there is out there. But I think that I’m maybe one of the hardest workers. It’s not easy to open doors, but it’s even harder to stay in. I’m just happy that my passion has become my job.

SCOTTSDALE

THE MAGIC OF

MOUNTAIN SHADOWS

Your next getaway should be to paradise. You deserve it. Think paradise is hard to find? Just plug “Paradise Valley, AZ” into your GPS and head to Mountain Shadows Resort, where the first word that comes to mind is “chic” thanks to its mid-century mod vibes paired perfectly with next-century amenities. The property even offers yoga on the lawn...the perfect prep to a lazy day at the Citizens Club Pool. Foodies come frequently for Hearth ’61. Chef Charles

Wiley’s menu has received well-deserved accolades and celebrates traditional dishes with a fresh, Mediterranean flair like prawns served with polenta, or the bratwurst and broccoli flatbread. Like any resort worth its weight in sea-salt, the cocktails are taken seriously at Mountain Shadows. Try the Ruby Baby, or the restaurant’s take on the Old Fashioned: the New Fashioned, made with Ron Zacapa 23 Rum. After your feast and fun, you may still be up for the best part: a great night’s sleep...perhaps in the indulgent Camelback Presidential Suite? Why not. After all, you deserve a little time in paradise. – By Olivia Fierro

THE OUTLOOK BY LENNAR WILL OFFER CAPTIVATING VIEWS – By Stacy D’Alessandro With a name like The Outlook, the new

single-family home community being built by Lennar in Lake Las Vegas is poised to showcase homes with a view. Situated across from Reflection Bay Golf Club, The Outlook will comprise 84 home sites, and almost all will have a view of the mountains, the lake or the golf course. “We designed the homes for families to really be able to enjoy the view,” says Joy Broddle, Lennar’s Las Vegas division president. “It’s kind of like living art when you look out through the glass, and most of the backs of the homes are actually designed around that view. So, there’s a ton of glass, from eight-foot sliding doors to 10-foot sliding doors. You won’t even have to put up any art. There’s art right outside your backyard.”

Home shoppers can choose from three single-story floor plans at The Outlook, including the 2,320 square-foot National, which is priced at $586,990 and features three bedrooms and two baths. The Royal is a 2,550 square-foot home with two bedrooms and two baths, and is priced at $602,990. The Riviera model is Lennar’s NextGen® - The Home Within a Home®, which is ideally suited for hospitable homeowners who like to open their home to family and friends. This 2,600 squarefoot, three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home features a separate entrance with its own bedroom, kitchenette, and washer and dryer. The Riviera model is priced at $624,990. Each home features Lennar’s Everything’s Included® program with GE® stainless steel kitchen appliances, granite counter-

tops, and raised-panel cabinetry. Integrated home automation is also part of the package. The gated community will boast an indoor-outdoor lifestyle that is a signature of life at Lake Las Vegas. Residents of the 3,600-acre masterplan community enjoy a 320-acre lake, award-winning Reflection Bay Golf Club, a new sports club, and water sports activities. Complete with fine dining and grocery shopping available at the local Montelago Village, Lake Las Vegas is a short drive from the Las Vegas Strip and downtown. AFTER 12 YEARS,

VEGAS UNCORKED REMAINS THE FEAST FOR GODS AND MORTALS – By Stacey Gualandi

Neither rain nor heat, nor 20 mph winds would

keep me away from the this year’s annual Vegas Uncork’d Grand Tasting, the epicurean extravaganza at Caesars Palace’s Garden of the Gods. For 12 years, I have missed out. Well, bucket list …consider yourself officially shorter. Unfamiliar with Uncork’d? Simply put, it is a “who’s who of gastronomic geniuses” who show up to showcase their extraordinary culinary talents for an entire weekend, with the Grand Tasting as the centerpiece. It’s a moveable feast that’s second-to-none. This year, Bon Appetit magazine brought together over 50 award-winning, world-renowned chefs from Caesars Palace, The Cromwell, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, MGM Resorts International, The Venetian, and The Palazzo Las Vegas. “It’s an honor: This is our fourth year and it’s a

great culinary event,” says Guy Savoy Executive Chef Julien Asseo. “To be surrounded with all these great chefs is always a special moment.” Everyone from Guy Savoy to Guy Fieri were spotted on the red carpet, and in their specially designed booths spooning out their signature dishes: Nobu Matsuhisa’s marinated tuna; Gordon Ramsay’s Beef Wellington; risotto from Giada De Laurentiis; and pupusas from Border Grill’s Susan Feniger. (Savoy had me at black truffle/artichoke soup.) “I’m so proud of this event,” says culinary queen Elizabeth Blau. Famous for Honey Salt, Andiron and Buddy V’s with her husband Kim Canteenwalla, it was Blau who first brought the Grand Tasting to Las Vegas 18 years ago. “It’s all networking and sharing our passion. We like to see each other and…it brings the

city together. It’s our one major food event, the ‘piece de resistance,’” says Blau. Steve Martorano—the self-described “cook” who once sold sandwiches out of a basement and now owns Martorano’s in Paris Las Vegas—has been here 12 times, and Lorena Garcia, who celebrates the first anniversary of her Venetian-based restaurant Chica, is back for a second year. “I am such in awe,” says the Top Chef Master alum. “Seeing the competition, I’m always inspired by them and trying to learn. It’s a chance to pick their brain and I’m all for it.” So if it’s Timon Balloo’s crudo you crave, or Charlie Phan’s daikon rice cakes you desire, don’t worry. There is something to suit everyone’s palate. My advice? Go hungry.

HAPPINESS

THE MASTER-KEY TO LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE – By Robert Mack

Iclearwantfromto make something perfectly the start: Nothing—abso-

lutely nothing in the world—is more important than happiness. Specifically, your happiness. Think about it: There’s not a single thing in the world that you want—not money of any amount; not success on any level; not a person of any caliber or a relationship of any kind; not health of any magnitude; and not even all of those things combined—that is more important than your happiness. We think we’ll feel better for having or accomplishing things. But it’s that feeling place—a feeling place called

“happiness,” or “joy,” or “fulfillment”—that we’re all after. Without the hope of it, what’s the value of this life (or any other life that comes after it). In recent years, Ivy-league science even backs this up: Happiness leads to other, more traditional forms of success, too: more money ($600-$700k), more love (earlier-longer-better marriages) and better health (life expectancies 6-7 years past the norm.

want to be happy—and you want more money, success, love, and good health, too—follow this column. I’ll be offering the best tips and tricks based on both empirical, scientific data, and my own personal life experience and those of my clients. They say happiness is an inside job. In future issues, I’ll share my best practices for tapping into the peace that already lies within you. Stay tuned.... you won’t want to miss this.

Happiness is the master-key to everything you really want in life, because it unlocks success in all areas. If you Deluxe Version Magazine | 87

CRYO SKIN 2.0

ADVERTISEMENT SUBZERO RECOVERY

THE ADVANCED WAY TO TIGHTEN SKIN

Cryoskin 2.0 uses the science behind cryotherapy, or the treatment of the body using cold temperatures. Our treatments use the Cryoskin 2.0 machine manufactured in Paris with a focus on non-invasive treatments for slimming, cellulite reduction, and toning.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The treatments are powered by cryolipolysis - a medical treatment used to destroy fat cells by freezing within the temperature range of +5 to -5 ËšC. The cold treatment causes apoptosis or cell death of subcutaneous fat tissues.

IS IT SAFE?

The treatments are very safe and non-invasive. Many clients visit us during the lunch break or immediately before or after a workout. There is no down-time after the treatment. Schedule a free consultation today.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

Results are seen immediately, but it is recommended to treat specific areas between 3 - 6 times for best results. Afterwards, the treatments can last for years, but it is recommended to schedule 1-2 treatments every 6 months while maintaining a healthy diet and exercise.

WHAT ARE COMMON RESULTS?

Research has shown a 38% fat reduction in treated areas. These results were seen over the course of 10 weeks after treating 100 individuals between 3-6 times each. To learn more about our newest, non-invasive treatments for slimming, cellulite reduction, and toning visit www.SubZeroRecovery.com or call us at 702-907-8304 to book a free consultation. Results vary per patient.
