Vittoria’s history is the expression of a unique Italian passion whose origins date back to the early 1900’s when Edoardo of Soriso, Italy, would journey to Orta Lake by foot to sell his shoes. He would arrive at the market before his competitors, who would rather enjoy the comforts of the train.

Quella di Vittoria è una storia di grande passione italiana che affonda le sue radici agli inizi del ‘900, quando Edoardo da Soriso raggiungeva a piedi il lago d’Orta per vendere le sue calzature. Anticipava in questo modo i concorrenti che preferivano il più comodo viaggio in treno.

1978 Two years after its founding, Vittoria is the first Italian company making colored cycling shoes. 1981 Introduces the nylon sole, abandoning the traditional leather sole. 1985 Vittoria improves foot comfort by introducing a revolutionary design, a heel cup in polyurethane. 1992 With the introduction of the Fulcrum model, once again Vittoria is way ahead of its time by inventing the rotor closing system using nylon cables.

Vittoria offers a range of high-tech shoes which satisfy the needs of every cyclist, from the amateur to the most demanding professional. Vittoria serves the road, MTB, track, triathlon, trekking and the fixie markets, each with their own dedicated models and lines. INNOVAZIONE E SUCCESSO.

Celestino Vercelli, nipote di Edoardo, da professionista prese parte a sette Giri d’Italia e due Tour de France. Dopo il ritiro, nel 1976 fondò l’azienda con l’obbiettivo di continuare a fare del ciclismo una ragione di vita. Le conoscenze accumulate nell’arco della carriera e le idee brillanti di Celestino fruttarono a Vittoria i primi successi, delineando l’approccio fortemente innovativo che ancora oggi si può riscontrare nella vision aziendale. 1978 Appena due anni dopo la sua fondazione, Vittoria è la prima in Italia a produrre una scarpa da ciclismo colorata. 1981 Introduce la suola in nylon, abbandonando la versione in cuoio.

Vittoria’s tradition and innovative thrust continues with Edoardo Vercelli, Celestino’s son and grandson of that Edoardo who first showed the path to follow at the beginning of the last century. This competitive soul and the propensity to innovate are in both the Vercelli family’s DNA and Vittoria products. Vittoria’s Italian identity and craftmanship are the result of a century’s experience in footwear united with an overwhelming passion for cycling.

Celestino Vercelli, Edoardo’s grandson a professional cyclist, raced in seven editions of the Giro d’Italia and two of the Tour de France. After retiring in 1976, he started his own company with the objective of making cycling his reason for living. The competitive experience Celestino gained on the roads of Europe during his career and his brilliant designs brought Vittoria early racing success, demonstrating the company’s innovative vision.

Every upper is made up of more than 20 pieces, a mix of mesh, lining, padding and other technical items. All shoe upper parts are cut on our factory floor with a special steel cutting die.

The first production phase is the insole mounting. Every model has a specific insole. The insole can be of the standard antibacterial type, to the breathable insole used on shoes with ventilated soles that permit perfect foot ventilation.

The finished upper, is mounted on a plastic last. This phase is done on a machine, but an operator with extensive experience and good concentration is required for a quality result.

When the upper is properly fixed on its insole, a fully computerized roughing and cementing machine prepares the upper to receive it sole.

Una tomaia è composta da più di 20 parti, tra rete, fodere, imbottiture e particolare tecnici. Tutte queste parti sono tagliate internamente, mediate apposite fustelle di acciaio.

Prima fase del processo produttivo è l’applicazione del sottopiede, scelto a seconda del modello tra lo standard antibatterico o il più tecnico estruso, che permette una perfetta ventilazione del piede.

La tomaia viene montata sulla forma. È una fase che viene fatta con l’ausilio di macchinari, che richiede una grande esperienza e concentrazione da parte dell’operatore.

Una volta montata la tomaia sulla forma, la scarpa grazie ad una macchina computerizzata, entra nella fase di spianatura ed incollaggio, pronta poi per essere pressata assieme alla sua suola.

TRADITIONAL FIT We enlarged the width of the traditional European fit suitable for feet with skinny soles. This improvement, together with mediumsoft synthetic leather, allows an optimal adjustment of the shoe with the foot.

WIDE FIT We enlarged the sole width to provide a comfortable fit for wide feet, following requests from Asia.

For this reason, only with a properly fitting cycling shoe can an athlete’s performance be optimized. A cycling shoe with proper foot support is crucial for maximum performance. For this reason Vittoria provides custom adjustable footbeds which can significantly improve shoe performance and comfort. These footbed supports can help reduce the risk of skin irritation, cramps and tendinitis. The thickness and density of our materials used as well as the correct positioning on the pedal axis have been the result of specific ergonometric studies.

In 1992 Vittoria was the first to introduce the rotor shoe closing system using nylon cables. This closure used on our Fulcrum shoe was cycling’s first and today is still widely imitated.

HORA’s closing system is unique. It’s an innovative system with a micrometric cable closure which allows a step-by-step adjustable closing and opening as well as a quick unfastening. This closure is used on both the Hora and Rock models and is easily replaced.

The lateral closure of the SSP System is Vittoria’s new wager. It’s the same closing system used on the HORA but much smaller. Despite its small size, this closing system’s strength is incredible, you have to try it!

Vittoria fu la prima azienda ad introdurre il sistema di chiusura a rotore con cavo in nylon su scarpe da ciclismo. Questo brevetto vide la luce nel 1992 sul modello Fulcrum ed è ancora largamente imitato.

Our jerseys are made with only the finest of noble virgin wool, worked in the Biella, Italy area, known worldwide, for the finest and highest experience in wool. We chose Wool because it is one of the best materials in terms of heat displacement, warmth and is hypo-allergenic. Thanks to our partnership with the most important textile manufacturer in the BIELLA area, Vittoria have developed a special fabric, with an outside wool finish and inside cotton, with this special finish, we have made these jerseys washable in water with little care and very comfortable. We are proud to say, that ours will be the best wool cycling jersey on the market.
