TEXTILE DESIGN 2013
The BA(Hons)Textile Design at De Montfort aims to provide it’s students with strong design and technical skills. Covering a broad range of textile techniques and processes across Print, Mixed Media, Knit and Weave. Techniques include fabric manipulation, hand and machine stitch, digital imaging and printing, digital embroidery, jacquard weaving and knitting, screen printing, weave and dyeing. Contemporary practitioners support the course team in developing your design work and your relevance to the contemporary design market. Graduates can hope to find experiences that can lead to careers in the design, marketplace including textiles for fashion, giftwrap and cards, buying and production, studio design and freelance work, as well potential for design makers and careers in education.

The BA(Hons) Fashion Fabrics and Accessories course at De Montfort provides opportunities for students to investigate textile and accessory specialisms purely focused at the Fashion industry. Focusing on a contemporary and innovative approach, students can explore and combine a range of practical skills, including Printed textiles for fashion, mixed media textiles, Knit for fashion and fashion accessory product design. This supported and developed by expert staff, visiting professionals and extensive technical workshop access.
