CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES GUIDE PRIMARY CCA GUIDE
OUR PROGRAMME
LIST OF CCAs Doha College offers a wide range of CCAs, in fact in a typical term there may be up to 175 different CCAs running across both campuses and through Primary and Secondary. This allows students to evelop their strengths and participate in something that they enjoy and are passionate about. A sample of activities in one term could be:
Doha College places great importance on a wide ranging and accessible Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme. Within the College CCAs are seen as one of the pillars of a holistic education alongside strong academic and pastoral pillars. While termed Co Curricular, the College does not see CCAs as something additional the pupils can simply do at the end of a day, but an embracing part of an all-round education. In addition to its bedrock activities of sports, music, drama, Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and Model United Nations; Doha College offers a wide range of skills and activities that help develop talents and interests. CCAs are seen as the College community coming together for the benefit of all, where relationships between staff and pupils are enhanced and where older students are encouraged to lead their own CCAs for the benefit of their peers and younger students. Doha College has a simple and convenient registration system to support parents and allocate CCAs appropriately. In Primary, CCAs run from 1.20pm until 2.20pm and 1.30pm until 2.30pm for Secondary. The exact schedule for each term varies depending on the term dates, national and religious holidays etc. Typically each term has a 10 week block of CCAs with no CCAs during the first nor the last week of each term. However, it may be necessary for some CCAs to start and finish earlier e.g. MUN and choir. This will be communicated to students and/or parents when this occurs. The vast majority of CCAs will take place during the first two terms. Any CCAs that take place in term three are often additional CCAs provided by staff.

My CCA is divided into two sections, Key Stage 3 and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. I must say that I enjoy seeing the students through a completely different light. They are always so thankful for any dish they take home. They feel proud, so, I can say it is both an enriching and rewarding experience for them as well as myself. -Achraf Mechmech (cooking)
WHAT PARENTS AND STUDENTS THINK
Both my boys in Years 4 and 6 go to triathlon CCA and they love it. It is very well run and keeps the kids fit, competitive and engenders a great team spirit. Hats off to the staff who run it so well. Mr and Mrs Ashley -Triathlon
A great way to socialise, especially doing what I love. Heri-Video games
I enrolled my son Nathan in two CCAs this year and he had a fantastic time in both. Choir really taught him how to work in a group and increased his confidence as they performed in front of such a big audience. The charity CCA was really entertaining and gave Nathan an understanding of the joy you feel when helping others. Thank you Mr. Kutts and Mrs Sukehja- Choir and charities
We are very satisfied with the options of co-curricular activities which Doha College is providing to students. It is important for kids to be very diverse in their interests. These activities allow them to explore various interests that they may have. Actually academic subjects and cocurricular activities complement each other and develop a well-rounded, socially skilled, and healthier student. Ishaan likes triathlon, as training with a team builds confidence, camaraderie and teamwork skills, and develops his sense of identity as well. Mr Barbbar- Triathlon
My favourite CCA is basketball when I hit an amazing game winning shot! Victor Cruz-Basketball
It was fun playing netball with my friends and was a great way to finish the school day. Ella Bramston-Netball
I have three children who participate in CCAs and I believe thy are an integral part of school life. I could not have hoped for more or varied options. Thank you to all the staff for their dedication and hard work. Mrs Shemeis - Drama club, triathlon and netball
