November 2019 Round-Up As the weather cooled to a more pleasant 20-30 degrees over November, it was time for the blueribbon events in the QPPSSA calendar. The world game quickly came into sight faster than a speeding bullet train as our students locked horns again with their adversaries from far and wide. West Bay had a tremendously successful campaign picking up four fantastic golds with still Y5 and Y6 girls tournament unfinished due to and end of days storm that curtailed their event. Al Waab medalled in various age groups with the notable highlights being the boys Y5 (gold) and Y3 girls (silver) events, where it was apparent that the DC spirit was alive and kicking! As the year draws to a close and many of our athletes will be assessing the many triumphs and challenges, it is important to reflect on a busy, yet incredibly prosperous calendar year where so much has been achieved. In reflection, with so many contests
still to be taken, it important to take account of the encounters just over the horizon. To quote the great poet Alfred Lord Tennyson‌ Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and though We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are, One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
