s reflected in the Division Calendar of Activities for School Year 2017-2018 , the Schools Division Research Committee (SDRC) held the 2017 Live - In Division Research Compendium with its theme “Empowering Batangueño Towards 21st Century Research Thrust ”last September 27-29 , 2017 at the Batangas Country Club.It was spearheaded by the School Division Research Committee Chair, Dr. Rodrigo S. Castillo through the efforts of the over-all Chairperson Dr. Carlito D. Rocafort and his Co- Chairpersons namely Dr. Hermogenes M. Panganiban , Dr. Felizardo O. Bolaños , Mr. Mario B. Maramot and Mr. David M. Nuay. It was then agreed during the 2017 Research Academy that the participants will present their research proposal / full paper to their respective research coach for initial assessment afterwards it will be submitted to the District Research Committee ( Division Sub- Committee ) for evaluation , acceptance and endorsement of the full paper to SDRC. The SDRC has accepted the full paper as entry for the said Compendium starting August 1 , 2017 and August 31 , 2017 .

During the Compendium, Dr. Carlito D. Rocafort highlighted the importance of building the culture of research in the Division of Batangas Province. He reiterated that through research the bridge to expand the academic horizon of researchers will be extended not only in the classrooms but also in their real practice. Research will solve the simplest to the most complicated problem involving the school , students and teachers. Research embodies the development cycle of of change in the formulation of the schools’ vision and mission among its stakeholders and partners. In the Welcome and Opening Remarks , the Assistant Schools Division Superintendents , Dr. Hermogenes M. Panganiban and Dr. Felizardo O. Bolaùos emphasized the significance of research as a catalyst in sustaining the educational thrust of Deped Batangas Province towards globalization. It will open doors to innovative approaches to improve our educational support services for the Human Resource , Accounting / Finance , Medical and the entire Schools Division Office as well.

Dr. Rodrigo S. Castillo , the SDRC manifested his earnest desire to sustain the interest and fervor of our Division Researchers to participate in a scholarly event. He was also overwhelmed to the great number of researchers who registered both on-line and walk-in participants. He then ventured into opportunities for incoming number of researchers who will not only submit for Regional Research but also present for International Conventions. In the second part of the program , Dr. Lilia Ricero , the Education Program Supervisor for Policy Planning and Research Division at Batangas State University stated the fundamental aspects of the requirements for qualifying for the Basic Education Research Fund ( BERF ). The Research Guidelines was thoroughly discussed to highlight the salient parts of research. She encouraged teacher-researchers to continuously participate in district and regional compendium.

In the afternoon session on the first day September 27 at exactly 1:30 p.m. , the Plenary Sessions / Opening of Poster Displays were orally presented. There were 8 ( eight ) participants and simultaneous to this activity , nearly 120 poster display participants presented their researches to the evaluators. The evaluators included : Mrs. Cora V. Samson - Senior Education Program Specialist for Monitoring and Evaluation , Dr. Rodrigo S. Castillo - Senior Education Program Specialist for Planning and Research and Dr. Wilson T. Ojales - School Head of Taal District. DAY 2 - September 28 , 2017 marked the presentation of Oral Researchers. The sessions were divided into seven ( 7 ) groups. Each group was assigned a room for oral presentations wherein three (3) panelists were tasked to evaluate their papers. An estimate of 15-25 presenters were evaluated with their verbal/written outputs. DAY 3- September 29 , 2017 considered as the last day and final judgement for all Division Compendium Researchers. The morning session served as the continuation for the second batch of oral presenters and the afternoon session considered as the culminating/ highlight of the event the awarding ceremony.
