Getting married is one of the most important events in any person’s life. The proposal, wedding planning, and the wedding day itself are stories that should be truly memorable. That is why for teacher/photographer/visual artist/and board riding enthusiast Domcar lagto and Maria Mayvel Andal, they went a notch higher to share every moment of their lives until they finally walked down the aisle.
The First Mayvel and I first met during a Division Music Fest at the Batangas Provincial Auditorium last October 28, 2011. Dom was one of the staffs who assigned to document the event while Mayvel was a participant to the fest. “Nakita ko siya na kakaiba sa lahat ng mga participants. Iba ang kanyang mga ngiti at lalong bumagay ang kanyang suot na puting longsleeved sa kanyang kulay na tila labanos. Sinundan ko siya noon na hindi niya nalalaman at habang nagmamadali siyang pabalik ay pinatigil ko siya at kinunan ng larawan.” That’s how Dom captured not only the image of Mayvel but also the heart of her. After the event they become friends in facebook. They started chatting and shared stories all day. Saying Good night! Kumain
ka na ba? Mzta na? And others to start conversations during the night time through text and call were usual communications that they did. They become closer and closer… and getting there.
The First Eleven After several days of texting and chatting, finally the first date was arrived. It was November 11 when I told her to had a lunch. She didn’t refuse my invitation, I was so nervous that day. I don’t know why but it was happened. We ate at Jorganes Restaurant and it was unforgettable and we enjoyed it. After the office, she told me to go with her to their house to meet her parents. Another nervous breaking but it makes me feel so excited that time. “Don’t
worry mababait naman sila at gusto ka nilang makilala.� Those words and couple of smiles gave me hope not to be afraid. She’s right; they are so accommodating and kind at heart. They invited me to eat the dinner with them and have some conversations that made me feel comfortable and belong to their family.
The Palawan
Love Story
Thanks a lot to the Gender and Development (GAD) in Palawan, we developed ourselves to become better persons and the most important was we allowed to developed and know each other most. As an event photographer, I was chosen by our Division Superintendent to document the event and Mayvel was one of the participants. The seven days stay in that place was remarkable to us. We went to El Nido and see the beauty of it. The island hopping, fish feeding and swam to its clear salt water gave us time to be
closer enough. The night out with friends and ate in different restaurants gave delights to us. The PPUR experience that not everyone can enter and the most amazing was the stories we build and the memories that without that event and place‌ maybe we’re not on it.

I Missed A Shot‌ But Not Her Heart Domcar Lagto, 31, and Maria Mayvel Andal, 21, Philippines. It took about two months to plan my marriage proposal to Mayvel. I am a visual artist and love video editing, and I wanted it to be something that would slowly reveal the words Will you marry me? With the help of my coworkers Mike and Chryz, I earned an idea to make my proposal shown like a film presentation. I worked day and night watching different kinds of proposal in YouTube and I want mine to become unusual. At last! I had been decided. As I watched the movie Gnomeo and Juliet for four times, I was so inspired. So I utter to get video clips on it and edited in the proper the way that we met until the proposal day. The subtitles I made and actions of the characters gave meaning and drama for the proposal.
After I made the video, the one problem that I encountered was how do present my work? My coworkers and I toiled on it. We planned to ask permission to our boss to give us time for my proposal in their MANCOM, but we failed because that time I was scheduled to come out of town and
attend the Awarding Ceremony of the Region in Campus Journalism and get the awards in our School Paper. In the afternoon of the Valentine’s Day I decided to do my proposal, again. After her office we went to Bay Mall in Batangas City and had a dinner date. There are lots of lovers in that place celebrating the special moment. We dine in Mang Inasal, that time they were lights off and candles in every table lit the restaurant. It was so passionate. While waiting for our orders, I left her for a while and went to comfort
room, but that’s only my excuse to buy flowers for her. Afterwards, we went a window shopping. But I had a new plan for my proposal. I want it to flash in TV screens in hardware in the mall. While Mayvel walking around, I spoke the security guard about my proposal plan and he gave me permission and said “Good Luck po sir! Ako po meron din mamaya eh.” Then, I exchanged my greetings to him.

Nung nag dalaga ako, madalas akong mag day dream. Pangarap ko talagang mag pakasal sa tabing dagat. Yun bang after ng ceremony eh, sabay kaming manunuod ng sunset. Oh diba, romantic? Maaring corny sa mga bitter, pero ok lang huwag kayong mainis kasi pangarap ko naman to! Di ko alam kung impluwensya ba ito ng mga romantic movies na napapanuod ko noong high school ako, o sadyang ganun lang talaga pag mahilig kang mangarap ng gising. Nagdalaga ako, nagkaron ng iba't ibang relasyon.... at ang pangarap na ito ay unti-unti kong nalimot. What happened? Reality. Hindi kasi pocketbook ang buhay, hindi ako artista sa romantic film... at hindi lahat ng pagkakataon, merong isang malanding moment na pwedeng mabigyan ng award sa Oscar's o Emmy's bilang Best Kissing Scene o Best Love Scene. Hindi ganun kadali o kasarap mainlove lalo na kapag nagsisigawan at nag-iiyakan
na kayo, kapag nagsusumbatan na, naghahanapan na ng mali. Mahirap pag bata ka, pinapaniwala ka ng mga magulang mo sa mga bagay na kasing ganda ng rainbows at kasing sarap ng double chocolate roll ng red ribbon. Tapos pag dumating ka na sa tamang edad, ma rerealize mo. " Ay shet !! You lied mother, you lied! Gosh.. sakit sa bangs " Isusuko ko na sana ang pangarap na ito eh, kaso dumating ang isang Super Saiyan (hindi sya kamag anak
nila san gokuu at vegeta). Teacher xa Photographer pa na mahilig talaga kumuha ng mga di inaasahan hahaha‌ tapos naging mgkaibigan na kami.. chat chat, txt txt, twagan.. hanggang nainlove na kami sa isat isa.. --Isang umaga, nagising ulit ako. pag bukas ko ng pintuan ng kwarto napaka liwanag, ang sakit sa mata, kaya naman pala, Magtatanghali na.. May ngtxt, napaisip ako sandali, nag bago bigla ang isip ko. Ang init kasi ng pwesto ko. Pumunta ako sa kusina, habang kumakain ako ng breakfast ko, napangiti ako habang kumakain ng pancit kanton, (kinikilig kilig pa habang umiinom ng tubig). Tapos kinilig ulit ako. Habang tumatagal kami nagiging selfish ako, gusto ko sa akin lahat, kaso di naman pwede yun. Open naman ako sa boyfriend ko, sobra. Bestfriend kami diba? kaya lahat alam nya. Di ko naman na kailangang sabihin pa sa kanya pag may problema ako, obvious naman kasi. Busalsal ang mukha ko pag problemado, nababawasan ang kagandahan ko. Kaya, lahat ng dumikit sakin, ramdam ang negatibong aura ko. At madalas si Nanay ang nakakaramdam nito. Malamang kasi siya naman ang NANAY KO. Marami akong nakikita HOT & COLD, yes and no, in or out, up & down. (feeling katy perry) Sobrang fragile ako (baso) Vulnerable, weak in some ways lalo

Buti nga naiintindihan yun ni BOYFRIEND, malamang kung ibang lalaki yun, naku! Matagal na akong single. Di ko nga akalain na merong lalaki na katulad nâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ya. Kala ko sa pelikula lang meron nun. Pero ganun talaga siguro pag totoong pagmamahal yung nararamdaman nyong dalawa. Na kahit ano pang pagsubok, problema, drama, horror, suspense, comedy at romance ang dumating sa buhay namin, magkahawak kamay naming lalagpasan lahat yun. At alam kong sa mga darating na araw, susunod na buwan, at lilipas na taon. Mararamdaman pa rin namin ang tamis ng unang halik, init ng yakap at kilig. --Mahal na Mahal ko sya. at alam kong SIYA na :) <3

THE FIRST ELEVEN Everything starts with first… and it was the most unforgettable at all things happened in our lives. Aside from this, it was the time when the beginning generated, the first was always astonishing.
It was December 11, 2012 when we started our eleven. A week before, I planned on how to rejoice this big jiffy in our lives. I read articles on web and watched videos on you tube about “How to Celebrate Anniversary”
and it helps me a lot and I gathered different ideas. I wanted our celebration become simple but impressive. Thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s why I told her the ideas in our big day. It was Sunday; we need to wake up early and go to church. We also accompanied by her younger sister Am and she serves
as a photographer who documented our first eleven, but she didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t know about it. After the mass, we bought foods to cook for the feast. We decided to celebrate this in their house with their family. Her father cooked it for us and weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re so pleased. But an extraordinary things happened, another twist to test how we handle little problem. One of her boss texted to her and she was badly needed go to their office on that
time, even it was Sunday. She told me about that, my face frowned and definitely not into the mood. I was expecting that we will celebrate the moment in the whole dayâ&#x20AC;Ś with no other things that can bury us. I think for a moment to ease my worries. She knows how I felt that period. She said she will ignore the message of her
boss, but I disagreed. It was a work and maybe it was a very important matter. I told her that I will go with her on their office, at least we still with each other. She smiled and hugged me and said, “Thank You!” I replied a sweet kiss and hugged her for a while. We’ve been to their office; we worked together to finished the said Sunday job well and it was treasured. The first eleven was so planned well, but we didn’t recognize that there’s a master plan for us to become better couple… Thanks to Him, our Master Planner.

I grab that chance to make my celebration plan possible. I asked the helps of my co-workers Mike and Chryz. I told them what I wanted to be in our second eleven. They gave me
some ideas to do and we planned it well. Lunch time of January 11, 2012; I messaged her to eat in some restaurant in the city. At exactly 12: 08 p.m. she goes out of the building and saw me

waiting her in a door side. While Mike and Chryz my (accomplished) were waiting outside (hiding) filmed us from the time we saw each other until we rode a passenger jeep. At first, she didn’t notice that the two of my co-workers filmed us until when she saw someone holding a
video camera (Mike) in the other side of the street. She said “Anong ginagawa nila?” I replied a smile and said, “Baka mayroong ginagawang movie.” I convinced her for a minute, but time needs to tell the truth when they joined us in the passenger jeep and continue filming us until we end in the restaurant. I felt her happiness inside. She’s shy in the front of camera but still beautiful in and out. Our two eleven remain surprising and memories spread through cameras. Thanks to my friends who helped me out and made our celebration remarkable. The beginning, the middle and the ending of our stories filmed… and shared.
THREE
THE ELEVEN It was Saturday. The weather was fair and everything occurred for a purpose. Unlike the two previous eleven that we had, the three eleven was naive but meaningful. This time we had a “Mall Celebration.”
We officially renowned our special day with two of us, thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s why we encountered a little bit trouble on whoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s going to take us pictures? After riding a bus, we need to walked the over pass to SM Lipa. There was one thing comes on my mind, to had a picture on that place while the busy roads of the city was in the background of us. But when were already there, no one walked to passed by so we wait almost two minutes until a man with cigarette
arrived and I asked him to take us a picture, and we did it! Thanks man!
“Chronicles” which was the offered in cinema 1 was the one we watched.
We’re walking inside the mall, holding our hands while windowshopped until we noticed that it was already a lunch time so we decided to eat in one of the fancy restaurant. We enjoyed it very much and we had fun together while having our lunch and conversations.
Later, we went to the super market and bought something. I gave her a little present which she loved most, a chocolate. We went home afterwards and another beautiful day we spend together. We also learned something in different ways and hoping someday we still the lovers who relished everything that we had… no matter what it is… and no matter what ensues to us.
Afterwards, we moved on in our new bustle, the “Movie Watching.” A day before I watched the preview of the movie “The Vow” but during that time it was not available, so that the film
