WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION VOLLEYBALL NARRATIVE Volleyball is a highly enjoyable sport played by individuals of all ages today. It is a sport that requires immense physical activity and coordination with other team players. Volleyball can be very rewarding to our health since it involves the movement of all our body parts, mainly the upper body. It also helps to improve our reflex since you don’t know when the ball will be heading your way over the net and in a game of volleyball, everyone has to be ready to set, bump, and spike or dig the ball to their teammates or over the net. Last Friday, 03 October 2014 during the World Teachers’ day celebration of the Division of Batangas Province teachers from different districts displayed awesome moves in their games. Dedicated players and several teams, countless hours of grueling practice, one court, one game. Some people live their lives for their career, with their mind simply set on making enjoyment or being popular, with their worries solely revolving around whether or not a person likes them. With all the rules, practice and necessity to perfect their technique, there is no end to their strive in improving their playing. Even when their muscles ache, their bruises refuse to cease, their skin is endlessly torn by the scorching heat of the court

and all they want to do is quit, that’s when they just have to push harder. In the end it’s all worth it and they regret nothing. Both male and female teacher players did just that. You could have seen the facial expressions of their supporters as they mightily cheered for their respective teams. Chants, screaming, various bodily gestures were so evident that the crowd roared in delight as each of them blaringly cheered for their teams. In the male division, Bauan emerged as the champion over Malvar while it was Calatagan spikers who coveted the title fight.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON INTERPRETATIVE DANCE By: Verla Alvaran “Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well.” - Aristotle I.OBJECTIVES - To artistically demonstrate teachers’ talent and skills through dancing - To show how talented the teachers are II. FOCUS OF THE ACTIVITY Approximately twelve thousand teachers from elementary and secondary schools in Area 1 to 4 have invaded the Batangas Provincial Sports Complex, Bolbok Batanags City last Friday, October 3 for the divisionwide celebration of Division of Batangas for World Teachers’ Day. Various activities

were conducted wherein the teachers themselves were the participants and contestants in all events. One of the most interesting activities was the Interpretative Dance using the song “Ngayon.” There were eight (8) groups of teachers have exhibited their talents in creative dancing. All groups have their own interpretation of the given song. They expressed their ideas through facial expressions, gestures and artistic bodily movements. Colorful costumes, stunts

and props have added to their presentation more meaningful, dramatic and exciting. At the end, only three groups among eight excellent talents are recognized. The results are as follow: Third Place: (Area ) Second Place: (Area 1) First Place: (Area 4)

Group 8 Group 6 Group 3

III. REFLECTION Having this kind of activities for teachers is such a good way to acknowledge the role of the teachers in society. We take the bigger responsibilities in molding our youth. We could even

make or break their lives. We are not only the agent of learning; we are also the best actors and actresses in the four corners of our classrooms. The kind of students we have is the mere reflection of what kind of teachers we are. We can be the most influential person in their lives. Whatever the teacher has is the ultimate treasure that he can share to his student. This explains the saying” You cannot give what you do not have.” IV. SUGGESTIONS The recent celebration was successful enough as they carried out their objectives of the program. I suggest that the DepEd Batangas should continue what they have started in recognizing and acknowledging the deeds of the modern heroes. New and more exciting activities have been looking forward for the next year.
