Vision A 'Relaxing Garden' not only for visitors to see the plants, but also a garden where they can rests, sits or even lie down. The garden also provides students an outdoor educational space meanwhile certain elements allow them to make notes easily.
Concept A serpentine wooden path leads people from the carpark entrance to the inner campus, it is firstly planted with wild herbaceous plants in the wide range of colours and gradually join the sea of grasses species while few Rhus typhina grow spontaneously emerge from them. A artificial fence with bench is being created at the back of the carpark for people to sit and concrete slabs are introduced among sea of tall grass species with a curve secondary path. Blue Belt is a idea which by planting blue colour flowers blossom during summer to represent water feature as it is the best way to compromise an excavation for large water body as this shape.

Planting Plan @Hillsborough College Carpark This Planting Plan is a project for Hillsborough College's carpark development. It intends to create a relaxing garden for students and college staffs to enjoy without reducing much of the car parking area. The existing hedge is being reserved to incorporate with the garden which is guided by a curve path starts from the carpark entrance as the map (left) shows.

Plant Schedule &Sections Positioning The section cut through the main path as the previous page shows, it intends to show the diverse species of herbaceous perennials grow in height hierarchy when people sit on the bench which is installed on the fence as the section shows. The fence, therefore, is being made of metal rails which give a transparent view for people to see through, behind it are substantial grass species which Rhus typhina is planted to give a canopy layer.

Seasonal Interest Sections(left) provide the view of the ambience in summer and autumn respectively, the intention of the abstraction of the right part is to give more human feelings to the built environment, making it sensitive and humane. The reason for picking Rhus typhina with grasses species as they look incredible during autumn when the colours turn to brown and red, it tells one that the autumn is coming.

Concept The idea of this ecological design is to provide a green park both for public and college students educational use. It provides open space where a link to the Wardsend Cemetery with stepping stones across the river, shelters to get rid of the rain in the mid of the site.
Under the existing birch woodland, few concrete slabs are introduced for students to rest and enjoy the atmosphere of the surrounding. Long concrete slab build among wetland plants to separate different species and still allow sitting and climbing activities.
Private space is being introduced to serve for students; an artificial fence encloses the part near electricity sub station, a bio-swale link the street collect storm water to the inner part which forms a small eco pond with wetland plants, especially Typha because its' character absorbing pollutants. 20
