SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE STOCK PITCH COMPETITION MARCH 12TH, 2017
Member of the Engineering Undergraduate Society McGill University
2 THE STOCK PITCH COMPETITION The Engineering Investment Group will be hosting McGill’s first ever Stock Pitch Competition for engineering students. This will allow students to learn, apply and understand the fundamentals of stock valuation, macroeconomic analysis and asset allocation. The format of the competition consists of an all-day event, starting with keynote speeches, followed by an hour long workshop on “How to Pitch a Stock”. The team will then be given 3 hours to analyze the information provided and prepare and deliver a 10 minute presentation with their recommendation, and respond to a 5 minute Q&A period in front of a panel of judges. Students will need to use their time management, teamwork and information prioritization skills to succeed in delivering a coherent, complete and convincing recommendation.
3 ABOUT US McGill’s Engineering Investment Group (EIG) aims to bridge the gap between engineering and finance by creating opportunities for engineering students to learn about the financial world. Founded in 2012, EIG has grown to include both an executive team and an investment fund team. Our general public events consist of trading simulations, speaker series, networking sessions, and more. Our goal is to create a diverse community where students can work collaboratively to acquire a broad base of knowledge regarding financial markets. In the 2016-2017 academic year, we set out to (1) increase our involvement within the student community by introducing new activities to our traditional array of events, (2) increase our student member base by improving our branding and marketing strategies, and (3) provide students with the necessary tools and resources to launch a career in the financial sector. We are confident that this competition will allow EIG to achieve the aforementioned goals. The success of this event would only be possible with your financial support as EIG sponsors. We thank you for your consideration and time and look forward to a long lasting partnership with your organization.
